And if you read closely, it's not just homosexuality, but certain sex acts themselves, regardless of the gender of the individuals involved.

As far as I am concerned, anything that consenting adults agree to in their own bedrooms is fine with me. I can't believe that these laws still exist! It's absurd. The more I hear these days, the more I think the US still has a long way to go in separating religion from the state.
 
Arizona recently (last year, IIRC) repealled the so-called "sodomy" and "co-habitation" laws. The sodomy law outlawed "any sexual act not intended for procreation" and the co-habitation law made it illegal to live with someone you were not married to (probably meant sharing a bed, because I imagine roommates were allowed).

These laws had been debated for quite some time, and I believe there was a failed attempt to repeal them. Then one day, the Governor took them off the books, and generated some amount of heat for it.

Personally, I thought the laws were stupid, and not just because I was living with my fiancee and not trying to procreate at the time.
 
people should be allowed to preform what sexual acts they wish in their own homes. What the hell is that about banninh same sex jesus and america is supposed to be the most democratic country :mad:

Any such sexual activity is confoundedly loathsome, and should be banned immediately.

Do you have any logical, non-religious reasoning why any two consenting adults can't do whatever they please in the privacy of their own home? Or are you just trolling?

Oh tish pish posh. I think you will find my support of celibacy and detestations of rude business goes back well before this avatar, and indeed before the first film. :p

I don't think that homosexuality in itself should be illegal, just as I do not believe paedophilia in itself should be illegal (neither is it for that matter). But the actions and activities that result from these proclivities, I am against in principle and practice. Just as I am against heterosexual activity, but don't believe that being one should get you arrested.

Im guessing that this is the reason behind the whole debate. From a morale standpoint, homosexuality and sodomy are very wrong. Neither of them are capable of reproduction and the continuance of the human race.

Note: This is just a general statement. I will not bring my own views into this since they are purely religous and i know that almost everyone has different religous views. So, im just showing the logic behind what the people trying to enforce this law are using.
 
As a healthy-minded, consenting heterosexual I have no fears about homosexuality or homosexual people. Welcome they are to do what they want. My arm is by their side if the government ever wants to say different...

What people do in their spare time, in private, etc.

Personally, any form of corruption is no offense to my morals!

This is a fatuous argument. Playing Civ III is not capable of the continuance of the human race, and the government has no right to tell me to stop that (well, except the Greek government).

Well of course, you naturally can't do that without breaking the law. Somebody oughta teach those guys how to act in real life, you don't do that by nodding at them pressing bellies with other men/animals. I have stated my opinion on the matter before, and IMO, this unnatural deviation of sexual behavior deserves somekind of treatment. But really, I don't care as long as they don't start nuzzling around me, or any other innocent member of the human race. :p
