Here is a map of Italy. I think it would work best as an early Rome, Punic Wars, or Italian Renaissance scenario. It also includes Greece, so I could see some other possibilities involving both Greece and Rome. It's quite a good size to allow for greater detail. If you make a scenario out of it, I'd suggest using some mountains to wall of the extreme edges because I could see the AI having a pretty powerful Carpathian civilization or something, which wasn't really the intent.

A word of warning. Resources are both abundant and poorly placed and could probably use some revising. I started off with an attempt for accurate resources, but my motivation failed me. Tuscany has wine, Rome has sheep, and things like that. But whether or not resources are well-balanced depends both on taste and where you want starting locations to be. I also was hesitant to include resources that are not from this area of the world, so it's missing quite a few luxuries (I included gems because that was vague enough for some wiggle room).

Anyway, I hope people enjoy it. A map could always use polishing either for accuracy or gameplay, so feedback would definitely be appreciated.

Very well done. Only Italy and Greece could make use of some small forests, while I'm afraid that the dense forest in the Balkans would quite hinder movement or an AI civ placed there. I've downloaded it and I'm going to try it out with Rome in my next achievement-hunting game :)

Very cool. I was unsure how much forest to add. The Romans seemed to hate trees with a passion, so modern Italy is relatively barren. I suppose I could add some in the Apennine Mountains.

Ancient Italy was relatively well forested but over time timber resources were depleted for shipbuilding and other purposes to what it is now.
