This is my suggestion for our mid-term plan -

Research pottery, and let our city grow for a bit (scout/warrior in the process). Once we get pottery, build a granary, then maybe another settler.

Research writing, then get the alphabet to trade techs. We could potentially trade our way to getting Code of Laws. (We should build the Oracle to get a free tech). We can toss HBR in there somewhere.

Once we have Code of Laws, we have a religion, of which we'll be able to generate culture. We can then research Mathematics, and shoot for catapults. That's when we start building up our units.

Longterm, I'd like about 5 catapults, and 10 Keshiks. If we can get the bronze, then a few spearmen, axemen and swords. But, catapults are great for bashing down walls! :D

I could definately support this plan, I think it has a decent chance of getting the oracle, which is one of the main goals I support.

Sounds like a pretty good plan. I agree we should start building our army once we've nabbed our religion. Re catapults, I'd prefer we have more like 10! Cats require Construction, of course, which requires Masonry in addition to Mathematics; hopefully we'll be able to trade for Masonry.

What will we do with the warriors/scouts. I suggest fogbusting to prevent barbs from appearing.

Please, take it easy, but it is not a plan; it is an interesting part of a plan.
Because one central point lacks: expansion.
There is no civ game without cities; and settlers are just good to found cities.
Within one turn a settler will pop up in our capital. So,
It must be decided now where 2nd city will be (or,if you prefer where the settler
needs to go to).
And, as animals are near and warrior slower than settler, our warrior must begin
his travel now, before hit end turn. (Or does someone desire the settler to
freeze waiting for...what?). Of course, capital shall need another warrior, now.
So, IMHO, the central part of our short term plan is about 2nd city site.
That's a technical question, but also a strategic one.
As Chieftess rightly said, we need some research and some units.
Which more wanted first? Or, right to the point, our 2nd city must be commercial
or powerhouse. (Luckily we have both, not far; but the choice is ours to make).
I'll say powerhouse, first: animals are there, barbs not long to arrive, and AI.
Near to the north is an excellent site, between gold and cows (4N 1NW from capital, safe route as we can get, very good site, and 8 and 20 tiles radius,on
the way to bronze, good territorial coherence with capital).
3rd city, excellent commerce and horses 3NE 2E from capital.
Best regards,

Best regards,

Had the settler been done earlier (forest chop), I would've moved the warrior, but since I didn't know where the settler was going, it was kept there. I would suggest moving it east as a settler escort (and head for that hill by the stone - I believe the settler can move 1 or 2 south-ish without problems and settle from there).

Please, please, I just spoke about the game, not about the players.

And I see we agree: the very first thing to be decided is where the settler

must go to.

Best regards,

They'll also be good to serve as a Sentry Net.
