Help!!!the old font problem!!!

:cry: i am still having the old stupid ugly font problem.i have read and tried all the methods mentioned in the forum, but still does not work.i have deleted all the font files with "lucisa",but still unable to start the game.
i really like this game,i played it on friend's computer before,but the software does not work on my computer.so anyone can help please.i am using windows xp,nvidia graphic card
 
I would love an answer to this as well. My fonts were fine until today, when I installed the drivers for my brand new hp 1012 laserjet. Now the font is all messed up looking. Why does no one help us???
 
C3C and all patched up - like I said, this started just today with installing my new printer driver, which makes absolutely no sense to me. What does a printer have to do with civ? Remotley?
 
With Madscot's help, I've located the answer elsewhere on the site here - I suddenly had too many fonts in my windows/fonts folder. Apparently CIII needs to find Lucida Sans within the first 256 fonts. I reduced my number of fonts from 374 to 298 (moving the others into a backup folder where I can shift them back to windows from if I ever need them) and the letters smoothed out no problem. Great stuff.
 
I know WinXP shows a purple font at times.
