the survival odds are much better if the musketman is reduced by 20% by the airship nearby. And while I agree the units would be better used for Roosy, I would rather risk knocking out Bangalore this next turn and cutting off the war next turn rather than prolong it by even just 1 turn clearing fallout.

finishing the war next turn saves us a lot of gold since we can reduce the cultural slider after peace with Gandhi.

That gold can be used to build more units. Those units would be more useful than the no xp infantry I'm risking in Bangalore I think.

I see your point. I suggest taking Lahore first. If we can get enough workers on that tile and clear the fallout the same turn, we don't need to take Bangalore and can declare peace once the tile is fallout free. If we can't get enough workers there or they don't have any movement points left when they get there, then I agree that it makes sense to take Bangalore and then sign a peace treaty. Either way, it should only be a two-turn war... unless Gandhi, unlike De Gaulle, needs more than 2 turns before he's willing to talk...

I'm fine with taking Lahore if the team really wants to do so. In general, I'm going push for a low-risk, minimal approach as much as possible for the rest of the game. Let's just get the job done and not try to do things that aren't necessary or take any excess risk if we don't have to do it.
 
By the way, did anyone see that site north of Stalin with 2 silver and an iron? That would have been a great city spot for Mining Inc. had we seen it before Satellites...

Good point. I was thinking that workers would be able to move to this tile and still clear fallout on the same turn if they were close enough. Let's take Bangalore as planned.
 
I just thought of a way to reduce risk even further on the Stalin war. If the transport near Haiti instead moves to 2E of the tile I indicated by "S transport T+1", it could travel 2 tiles to Novgorod-SW and still make it the 4 tiles to St. Petersburg-S on the same turn. So, if the first three marines are successful and capture Novgorod, we'd have one extra marine for the attack on St. Petersburg.

EDIT: We'll have to watch that wandering longbow between Novgorod and St. Petersburg on the turn we declare.

EDIT 2: We'll also need to get some workers here to cleanup the fallout. We may be able to whip them out of the three cities we capture also.

Would they even be out of revolt in time? I also thought we might wanna switch to Serfdom after the initial military spam, if needed.

I think we have Gandhi and Stalin under our collective thumbs. Both wars should be over by T+2.

@shyuhe Do you have battle plans for Roosevelt yet? It appears that it will be a simple excercise in logistics (i.e. getting units/workers where they need to go when they need to get there) since we'll have about 50% of our production for the next 4 turns and 100% for the last 10 turns to fully devote to America.

In a nutshell, the marines from the Stalin war could hit LA, SF and Seattle. The Indian vetrans can hit from the south and all new production from the mainland can travel by land and attack from the east with a few transports in the Northern Sea to quickly move units to Washington and Chicago. 25 modern armor should be more than enough. He's got a few boats around, so we may want to build a few destroyers/battleships to protect our transports and ensure we maintain control of the seas.

@bcool Does it make sense to play the next 2 turns tonight through the end of the Indian and Russian wars (assuming you can play and know what you want to build for the initial buildup for the American war)? Then we'll have 12 turns left where the entire focus will be on Roosevelt and cleaning up the odd fallout tiles. We'll also know the exact strength of the vetran armies from the Gandhi and Stalin campaigns.

Sorry been busy with stuff but I'll have some time tonight to put together a plan for finishing America.

From the looks of things, the warring is going to be a LOT easier than I expected, so no worries about not getting to it yet. I think the fact that we had "too much research", to use bbp's words, allowed bcool to set us up nicely to take out Stalin and finish the India war before we even launch. I think we're in great position and should even have turns to spare at the end. However, the devil is in the details and we still need to work them out.

Concerns: we will lose significant food with war with Stalin and Roosy. Not sure but maybe as much as 7 food per city.

I think with Stalin we lose 3 food in every city. I will try to start stockpiling a little more food just in case. I'll hunt for seafood too. Maybe we missed some?

Edit: would it make sense to raze Bangalore and build a settler to settle in same spot and therefore get access to the 3 seafood here faster?

Will use airships as needed on 2 southern stalin cities (maybe moving another airship over from Gandhi's lands if the first airstrike on Bangalore goes well)

I'll look into transporting more workers towards stalin's lands and roosy's western city area.

Thinking about upping the research slider so we can get flight in 1 turn after genetics. An airport or two would be super nice. Fighters and an aircraft carrier would be super nice too... And bombers of course...
 
How much do we care about food loss at this point? We'll most likely be done even using our cities after about half a dozen turns and most of them will only starve by a couple citizens by the end of game. Most of our top cities are running a pile of specs anyway. Hastings and Rheims, for instance, might starve before they complete builds, but they'd just fire Sci/Mer, correct?
 
As long as it doesn't affect our SS plans, pop loss is not an issue. My proposed PPP is going to have ample whipping to take care of any food deficit issues (drafting now).
 
I guess I just don't like seeing them starve. And I was mostly worried about the SS part builds but I don't think they are at risk.

I only upped the research slider 10%. Gandhi war is over no losses. Bangalore and Lahore are ours.
 
There is a fish? north of old China that has not been netted IIRC, but pop loss is a minor nuisance. I'd rather put all hammers into military.

My schedule opened up tomorrow and Friday, so this is what I'm thinking. Any one of us could probably successfully finish the game in 12 turns without much planning. But why take that risk.

I think we could finish in 8 to 10 turns in a pinch; we have 12 turns. I suggest breaking it up into four, 3-turn turnsets. It's hard to go too far astray in 3 turns, right?. Plus, we'd have more eyes on the save looking for battle opportunities, stray fallout tiles, etc.

Depending on what shyuhe provides in the way of a war plan (and when), I could play 3 turns tomorrow in about 16 hours, assuming we agreed on what to do. If I have to put together a PPP and play, it will be tough though. I could probably play another 3 turns on Friday afternoon too and then hand the baton back to bcool.

Here are my suggestions/ideas for war plan. Some are probably impractical.

-Flight in 1 turn
--Airports in Moscow and other key cities that can build them in 1 turn)
----can move workers/ military units to where we need them in 1 turn

--upgrade/build 6+ fightes for defense against roosy’s airships and later to station on aircraft carriers (and to soften up targets
---aircraft carriers really work well with marines for island assaults, they make the difference (fortified riflemen in cultural defensive city need a little softening up even for marines)
--4+ bombers to soften up targets/ destroy key resources

--somehow get uranium in 2-4 turns (for 1-2 ICBM/tactical nukes)
--sushi executive sent by airport to city in ice with nearby uranium?
--sushi executive to flip uranium on Gandhi’s lands
---settler to settle next to roosy’s uranium when we take out the city next to it (not easy since this is where his stack is

---hit roosy’s city with the statue of zeus in it first

submarine for tactical nukes and/or cruise missiles
--cities with ~60 production can crank out cruise missiles especially if they are far from the action.
---nice for island hopping or nasty high promotion rifleman

switch to slavery but not police state
--represention would allow us to tech refrigeration and robotics in a useful timeline
---refrigeration +1 water movement is big
----robotics 3 pop drafts of mech infantry, missile carrying battleships
--Or advanced flight (gunships anyone? you have to love them)

Kamchatka has drydock now, use for aircraft carrier / destroyers /submarine
--Fish does as well but not very good location anymore
--New channel for boats from Fish?

With slavery food =hammers so more seafood resources
--settler in city settled on the coal (for 2 seafood resource sites to the south)
----new cities have a net +30 research/ wealth just from trade routes
--fish north of China?

--don’t draft in highest pop cities including GP Farm (since trade route income is based on those high pop cities empire wide)

--use fighters/bombers/spies to prevent roosy access to oil and uranium
----use them to destroy all of his key happiness resources (especially nice to do with fighters and aircraft carriers)

--flip roosy to different civics (does this cause him anarchy if a spy does this?) If it doesn't probably not worth it.

--build the Cristo Redeemer. So can whip, switch back to caste system next turn for hammer bonueses, then whip the following turn, etc. Dip into serfdom if necessary.

--use Ivan the Terrible for some evil purpose.

--whip airports (OF into units) in key but not so great production cities.

--land units where barracks and GG are, air units where production is lower and have airports high promotion planes have great range option sometimes key, boats where drydocks are.
