My signature is getting too big, so I'm listing my game writeups here. I'll edit this post as I write more games.
Pretty much everything is immortal or deity, marathon, no tech trades, and either conquest or domination victory. Or a failed attempt...
From most recent to oldest:
Culture Blocking / Elephant War
As Creative Hatty, I block a huge backfill with my first 3 cities, and proceed to dominate with elephants. Cseanny plays an interesting shadow, beelining construction. (Immortal / Hatshepsut)
Airship / Cavalry / Artillery War
I claim my island, easily dominate a second island, then run into an AI who's ahead of me in techs. The final war was quite challenging. (Immortal / Brennus)
Deity - A False Start
I start badly, then reloaded and win on the second try. A good example of what not to do, and what to do instead. Also, I get over my fear of deity warfare. (Deity / Hatshepsut)
Culture Domination
Time for something silly. No war, domination victory via border pops. I focus on artists and early domination, rather than waiting for Sid's Sushi and Civilized Jewelers. (Monarch / Hatshepsut)
Deity Espionage
My first Deity win! And all the terror of deity warfare. Read to the end for a novel strategy: Abandon some cities to distract the AI while you raze their land. (Deity / Asoka)
Espionage Warfare
My first espionage game, where I learn the ropes of that economy, and how to wage pre-siege war with city revolts. (Immortal / Gandhi)
Isolated / No Wealth
A test: Can I support my economy entirely from failgold and building wealth, and run 100% research slider? Answer: Almost. Lots of economic analysis, little war. This game got me to stop building gold multipliers in most cities. (Immortal / Asoka)
Failgold Economy
Learning the ropes of a cottage-less economy. Zero cottages, hard expand, and -GPT at 0% research. But failgold (partially building a wonder, but letting someone else "win" the "race") keeps my economy afloat... just barely. (Immortal / Brennus)
I Play Badly
My first game writeup. Maybe focusing on writing and screenshots put my game off. Or maybe I was just bad. Either way, read this one to see me lose. (Immortal / Brennus)
