New terrain features

@Dancing Hoskuld

Here are new graphics for Kelp and Sea Grass. Note that Sea Grass uses the old Kelp graphics but I gave it a new icon/button. Kelp is brand new and has both new graphics and button/icon.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Note that the Dugong should spawn in Sea Grass and not Kelp. Generally sea grass is in more tropical waters while kelp is in colder waters (there are some exceptions).

And I am still trying to figure out the Mangroves for you. Still no luck yet.

So what do I do with the graphics by hrochland for sea improvements, and should they be upgrades or what?
- Sea factory - two versions
- Fish Farm
- sea garden

We should totally use the Thermal Springs for a "Hot Springs" terrain feature.

Do they erupt or have hot air coming out of them, what sets them apart from a regular oasis?

I have it but could not see the point since we already have a geothermal resource. Unless we replace the graphics for it with this one.

No.

No.

If it just sits there and does nothing then i say, just leave it out. IMHO. Now i do like the fish farm.

I had not updated for awhile. So when I did the update all my Date and Prickly pear cactus (and several other types) disappeared from my map/game. For the most part I was left with barren hills or scrub hills. So I built mines over what was once Plantations and orchards. :p

I think C2C has a hidden meaning, "Chaos 2 Chaos". :lol:

Sea Farms or Fish Farms could replace Fish traps. Fish traps and Fisherman's Hut are kinda weak right now. Especially the FH, 1 gold and the resource "nets". But the FT only gives 1 food unless you are lucky enough to have several different types of sea resources in your cities X. But this is a different subject by a different author iirc.

We have been talking about converting those back to resources since the limit on resources was removed. Now is when I got to it. Part of the problem is that I don't consider working on terrains, features, map resources and improvements interesting or fun but a chore and I am the only one doing said stuff. ;)

Wish I knew how to help. But I gave up my budding programming skills back in 1984, after FORTRAN and COBOL. And a very lousy COBOL teacher's indifference to the CRT and keyboard vs an invested interest in punched cards. I had a 4.0 grade avg before COBOL. But I failed that class. So I switched over to Math Education, Bye-Bye programming career! :p

We have lots to do for non-programers ...

1. Identify missing or redundant quotes and pedia entries. (Writing missing ones up is also helpful).

2. Help write up player guides for different C2C features in the civpedia.

3. Write up player tips that show up when the game is loading.

4. Make a C2C "Let's Play" YouTube or Forum Thread. This helps us see how people play as well as shows off the mod to other people.

That is about the time I gave up on teaching Maths/Science (the one and only year there was a glut of maths teachers graduating) and became a programmer.

Wow how old are you guys! Im barely in my early twenties..

@MrAzure
Most of us are roughly the same age as you with the exception of Joseph_II and Dancing Hoskuld - not sure about them.

I will be 30 in December. Too old to be young and too young to be old. :p

Thus i was only around 2 when JosEPh_II gave up his programming skills. :badcomp:

I am actually very glad we have such a wide range of ages on the team (and community). Gives us some wisdom and experience. :old:

On a side note I few up around computers before it was common place to have computers in the home. Thus I have both an appreciation for life before computers took over everything in daily life and the natural fluency with computers that the newer generations will forever grow up with.

In short as I have grown up, video games and computers have grown up with me. :pat:

30 y.o. ? iam 20 y.o. and i already feel that i am too old

I'm 60. My oldest is 35, I have 4 grown children. Which is probably a reason why I get into so many arguments around here. ;) :mischief:

My 1st real work computer was an 8088 with Windows 2.0 and a very early DOS version. I worked for a Private Cable Company at the time and we built and maintained cable tv systems for prisons, motels/hotels, and Private properties like gated communities and lake resorts.

I never did get my Degree unfortunately. Switching from Computers to Math Ed. added 33 more hours of course work and I ran out of GI Bill money my senior year. I had over 180 hrs of credited work but needed 9 more hours of upper level math, a Methods Class for Teaching and my 12 hour semester of Student Teaching, so 24 more credited hours. Never happened. My last semester the wife graduated with a Business management degree while 6 months pregnant with our 3rd child. I went back to driving a Mixer truck to feed the growing family.
