More Civilisations

Making the HRE as a civ is a stupid idea. It was a mess of micronations that was not really an empire until Bismarck came along.

I'm working on an HRE in my mod that has a special relationship (with very positive influence modifiers via lua) with a City State (the Free Imperial Cities). When HRE captures a CS or major civ capital, that is transferred to the Free Imperial Cities. For every city in the the Free Imperial Cities, the HRE gets bonus points for Great Person, Golden Ages and Gold generation. I'm thinking about modifying this for use in a more general way rather than just for my scenario so that the first CS conquered by the HRE would become the Free Imperial Cities (I'm not certain if a city state can be renamed in such a way, though). Perhaps this could even be expanded such that units/science or other yields could be provided based up the number of cities owned by the Free Imperial Cities. Perhaps, like Venice, settlers might be disallowed... haven't gone that far in play testing it.

I'm finally back home and had the time to do the icon for Shivaji. It took much more than it should, but I hope the result is satisfactory. Obviously, I based on Leugi's brilliant leader scene.

I'll be doing icons for Tomatekh, JFD and Project Civ next, but if there was something to be done, I'm open.

I like the brushed texture the golden lions have. It looks great mr. jan.

Kilwa - Ali ibn al-Hassan

Centred on the island of Kilwa, the Kilwa Sultanate was an East African trading empire stretching from Somalia to Mozambique borne out of betrayal and warfare. It dominated trade throughout the west Indian Ocean, with trade routes spanning the ocean that some believe led them to make land in Australia before any European. The sultanate lasted for over six centuries until succumbing to a Portugese invasion in the 16th century. During that time, the Kilwa sultanate controlled the movement of commodities through the region and beyond, in addition to the development and spread of the Swahili culture as an amalgamation of the various traders which resided within the empire. The Kilwa can be downloaded from Steam Workshop Here or from the CivFanatics Download Database Here.
