After a match too long because I forgot to update yesterday, we have our first tie, boys and girls! Inca and Poland are in a shared first place. That's why we're doing a tiebreaker vote concurrently with the next match. So this match, you get to vote twice: once in the tiebreaker and once in the match proper.
In the yellow corner, spawning in 722 AD in a peninsula they first need to reconquista, it's Spain
VS In the grey corner, spawning in 1700 AD when they begin their struggle to take over mastery of the German people from Austria, it's Prussia
VS And in the blue corner, spawning in 1600 BC as the birthplace of western philosophy and science, it's Greece
Match 8 tiebreaker: It's the intercontinental battle that never was! Auracs fighting winged hussars in: Inca
VS Poland
Though one this time. All are very high on my favorite civ list. With doubt, I vote for Prussia.
For the tiebreak, I have to vote for Poland, as I did so in the first place.
(Or can only the ones that didn't vote for eiter Poland or Inca vote now?)
The random seed really did weirdly this time, matching up three heavy hitters against each other like this. It also makes it very hard for me to choose, as I love all three civs. I will vote Spain for now.
In the tiebreaker, I'm voting for Inca again. Here's one reason why:
UP: Greece > Spain > Prussia
Greek UP is one of the best in the game and very fitting historically. Spain's UP has its uses. Prussia's UP is sound in theory but extremely disappointing in practice since you only get to use it in one or two occasions.
UB: Prussia > Greece > Spain
Prussia's fantastic UB more than makes up for its weak UP. It also has awesome graphics. Greece's UB has its uses. Spain's UB is neither very unique nor very useful.
UU: Spain > Prussia > Greece
Prussia's UU is OP on paper but by the time you get it it won't matter much. Spain's UU is just as good in practice as it is in theory and more versatile. Greek UU has a cool name but seriously needs buffs.
UHV: Greece > Spain > Prussia
Greece's UHV combines my favorite features of the game. Spain's UHV is also quite enjoyable though the religious requirement can often lead to strange exploits (such as conquering every Catholic civ before the Reformation). Prussia's expansion UHV is a PITA for me since I find the long trudge through Russian and Scandinavia with late game turn times extremely tiresome - perhaps that's the point.
Victory goes to Greece. It only needs a better UU and that's the easiest to fix.
