More Civilisations

Not with Rome 2 coming out on Tuesday...

Also, Kongo and the Garamantes should still work with BNW, we only updated the Kilwa for flavour.

I don't think the Garamantian Granary allows food trade routes if you use the GK version.

There are actually a few little things like that. The Fossil Water feature also still grants gold on River Tiles, for example.

Anyway, I should have a BNW update sometime tomorrow.

Okay guys, just a quick update on the Ayyubids:

I did a post on r/civ a couple weeks ago with details on them, in which I stated they'd be out that weekend. That was postponed because real life stuff came up at my end, however from that post they suggested changing the UA since it was not really Saladin-ey. So what we have at the moment is this:

UA: Land of a Thousand Minarets - Upon capturing a city, half the population converts to your religion
UU: Mamluk, replaces knight. While in a city, enemy missionaries and prophets can't convert said city.
UB: Madrasah, same as in the ItR scenario

So what we're thinking of changing it to is "1 gold for every two followers of a minority religion in your cities" - does that sound better? Also, general thoughts on the ideas?
(Oh, and just ignore "Cario" - it's changed now)

The Ayyubids - Saladin

The Ayyubid dynasty was a sultanate centred in Cairo between the 12th and 14th centuries. At its peak, it rules swathes of North Africa and the Middle East, from Sana'a to Tunis to Damascus. The dynasty was founded by Saladin, a man known throughout the world at the time for not only his military prowess but also his chivalry and forgiveness. Such behaviour earnt him and the Ayyubids respect throughout Europe, despite being heathens and enemies in their eyes. The Ayyubid army featured a caste of soldiers borne from slaves, known as the Mamluk. These soldiers were feared, and ultimately were the death of the Ayyubid dynasty through revolution. The Ayyubids can be downloaded either from Steam Workshop Here or from the CivFanatics Download Database Here.
The Ayyubids
Amir al-Mu'minin - Receive free Mounted Units whenever a Great Prophet is born. These units earn Faith from kills, require no Horses and cost no Gold maintenance. Conquered cities immediately convert to your religion on capture.
Cairo
Unique Unit: Mamluk, replaces knight. Prevents enemy religious agents (Great Prophets and Missionaries) from converting a city whilst it is stationed inside. In addition, it also ignores terrain penalties when moving through desert and does not have a penalty when attacking cities.
Unique Building: Madrasah, replaces University. Increases the science output of the city, and it's even more effective if the city is near to jungle tiles. The city must already have a Library in order to construct a Madrasah. It also provides additional Science equal to 10% of the Faith generated by the city, unlike the University which it replaces.

I like them.
UA is fine, relatively has the same power as the old Arabia. Definitely stronger with standard settings. Though the main power of Arabia was the UU and UB.

Are you doing the Ashanti?

EDIT: Despite the four-minute crossover with Hiram, I was checking the Ashanti map and getting a cuppa - didn't see his post! (I know, I'll say anything...)

LastSword does have a decent version of the Ashanti here: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=499014

Though I don't think he'd say no to a new map :D.

Did you need help doing some of the other African civs that were proposed for Zambezi? I'd be quite interested in helping you get the Kanem-bornu, Tuaregs and Malagasy done!

Damnit, was hoping it wasn't that easy to guess. Ah well, here's the next part so far:

Need opinions on which size is better (1 or 2 & 3) and which colouring is better (1 & 2 or 3) - that is, all different or other kingdoms all same colour.

It wasn't!! At first I was thinking Zimbabwe, then checked the map, realised I was wrong and looked at an Ashanti map - which I why I took a few minutes more than Hiram!

Your map's looking great, by the way :).

Yeah, Ashanti! It's one of the civs I'm looking forward to really :D

Really excited to see what you do with the Ashanti!

Hey guys, sorry about the lack of activity here recently. Rest assured, we are hard at work behind the scenes and are working to get art finalised on about five civs, so when that happens there should be an influx of activity and new civs. In the mean time, here's some of said art:

Bonus points if you can tell me what civ each one is for! (The maps don't count, they're too obvious)
