Awesome, what's the next step for you?

First up is King david for Leugi's Israel mod

Version 1 of David is ready for download

I made the background a real generic one DDS flat mesh (like civ4). Its really easy to change to make new backgrounds - just use the montezuma camera. I learned that lights can be modified but I think I left some of montezuma's blur in there. Overall it looks like there is A LOT we can just do with cameras and backgrounds to make these guys look more unique.

This is truly brilliant. What leader heads are you planning on doing next?

Awesome, what's the next step for you?

man, you snuck in on my second post spot!

Now that I did it I have a lot of them I want to do. Bolivar is definetely on my short list and I want to try Leaders with horses. But I'm likely to do an "easy" one (like modding Ghandi as a Harrappan) so I can document the steps and make a tutorial.

Not that I'm biased or anything , but you should totally do Henry Parkes (Basically a reskinned Pedro/Bismarck hybrid).

Spoiler :

Brilliant! Just keep up the good work man.

Looking good Ekmek! Am I right in assuming they still use existing animations for leaders though? If so, I know a guy that might be able to try and figure out how to get new animations in, provided you'd be able to bring him up to speed with the leaderhead stuff. Should I get you guys in touch?

Ditto. I unashamedly made a post on Reddit that got quite a bit of attention too and got some PM's from people asking with viable experience wondering how to do it as well.

I wonder how you did the background for the Israel piece. Did you draw it yourself or did you find art for it on the Internet?

The art is from Leuigi's Israel mod. I assume it is a blurred compilation of other images he found and then pieced it together.

Once we can get a tutorial going for easy export/import shenanigans, I think this will open the door for some serious modding.

How different will piecing different leaders together be from how it was in Civ IV? I was easily able to mix and match elements in that (eg. giving an unrelated leader Churchill's hat), is it the same sort of deal here?

Well it looks like that but right now I keep getting unweighted vertices for some reason

EDIT - IMAGE REMOVED

Looking absolutely fabulous there Ekmek.

Ditto!

This is awesome. Who are you using as a base?

True that. Mind you Ek posted a picture before of David in Catherine's palace when he was using the Darius base. I thought it might make sense to use Askia as a base if he'd be using his voice files.
