Mass Effect [Game Thread - Concluded]

I should note that I forgot to count Yaropolk's vote for CivGeneral in the last tally I posted. (If you see any mistakes, please point it out in the thread!)

EDIT: Also, apparently I neglected to put the final tally in the Day 1 update. It should be fixed now. I'll post an updated tally for today shortly.

That is a terrible assumption IMO and an insult to my expertise as a marine.

Also, this tells everyone that they are not a marine. Ergo scum know its a power role...rather than let them be confirmed, they will be killed.

So its a power role townie, scum know that, we dont. If they are scum, they already know that, we don't find out anything for sure, except maybe overnight scanned, and we kill them tomorrow bit of a waste.

I also vaguely remember reading somewhere Zack saying that theres no outright scanners, so we can't even find that out. Scum win if we lynch someone above normal townie damage, but don't kill them.

Based on that, edse would get my vote. But IMO, we need overkill, so CivGeneral will instead (leading candidate). But FFoS: atpg, and edse for either unknowingly bad townie play, or just being scum.

On the other stuff, I trust Visors gut on Jarrema, so would say 75% or so I think hes scum, and my game knowlegde is near 0, and I am time limited, so won't indicate a preference on the other stuff, until I had have chance to do some research (ergo future days).

Actually having read through it again a little, I think that it is best to have second place taking 4 votes, and first having the rest (third I don't see much help being gained from it, but I am missing something). Then again, I didn't read and find anything about if the lynch affects shields and health, or just health...so then my thought on second taking 4 is a bit irrelevant. (I also didn't find where Zack said that there are no scanners, just atpg's post about the host not helping us find scum, which I take to mean the same thing.)

I also would prefer a Jarrema lynch, but don't think there is time/willingness to change to him as the main target. Hence my vote for CivGeneral, a 'good' result on a bad candidate is better than a 'bad' result on a good candidate, IMO.

(I am classing good result as dead and confirmed as good/bad, and bad as proven not marine, but not confirmed good/bad, only to scum if power role (if townie).)

Am I blind or what is this "trust visor" business (edse, choxorn, mat93). I mean I did almost fail the eye exam for the marines (protip: just guess "E" and you have a good shot at passing!), but like is there even a way to word this

Look at it from the bright side, you're more powerful now that you're proved innocent.

any more scummy?

"Jarrema is a good lynch". Sure, why not, but most people probably are

I think it's more likely some tryhard scum paid attention to all the essentially random first day votes of sending others to the beacon (eg autolycus, jarrema, provably others. I just now caught up on day 1)

As a general rule, Visor reads Jarrema very well, and most of the time calls his alignment correctly (from what I've seen, and other people have commented on it too, I can't rightly remember who without looking for them). And based on lack of anything that is much more convincing or 'certain', IMO its one of the best options.

unvote; vote: atpg

Having thought about it overnight, his choice of 250 damage to inflict is very suspect.

?

What are you talking about? I don't think you've read things for comprehension.

Unvote, vote: No Lynch

Lousy first lynch candidate, lousy reasons given by many, lousy lecturing of Askthepizzaguy for being a "bad townie", just an awful round in general.

Wasted energy on my part. Oh well, let's hope something good happens, and the worse angels of our nature found a nut like a blind squirrel sometimes does.

Just to clarify, if "No Lynch" is in first-place, the 2nd and 3rd place candidates will still take the same amount of damage.

If no lynch is second or third, does the same principle apply?

THE CITADEL

Commander Shepard: "Are you Barla Von?"

Barla Von: "I am."

Commander Shepard: "I heard you might have information about Saren."

Barla Von: "I heard I like money."

Commander Shepard: "If you want a bribe, forget it. I have other sources."

Barla Von: "No, no, wait. Normally I'd charge for this kind of information, but recently there's been some bad blood between Saren and my boss, so I'll give it to you for free. From what I've heard, Saren travels with a posse; the number of people in his posse, including him, is not prime."

Commander Shepard: "You were going to charge money for that?"

Barla Von: "Humor me. You want the info, pierce my obfuscating language and simple puzzle to determine how many people are in Saren's group."

Commander Shepard: "Fine."

Barla Von: "If the number of people in this group was the age of a human, the square of the age would make them a teenager."

Commander Shepard: "Could you give me a clue that isn't a clumsy metaphor?"

Barla Von: "No."

Commander Shepard: "Can I get another clumsy metaphor, then?"

Barla Von: "Nope. Figure out for yourself, or admit that humans possess an inferior intellect, relative to volus."

Shepard grumbled and walked away.

[GM note: Those are legitimate clues. It shouldn't be that hard to figure out.]

When Commander Shepard returned to the Normandy, he found a startling site. CivGeneral was dead. Takhisis, e350tb, and Jarrema were all injured.

Commander Shepard: "What the hell happened here?"

Marine: "We think the crew has been compromised. There are traitors among us 24, killing us at night. We won't rest until the traitors are found and killed."

Commander Shepard: "Vigilante justice, right. Carry on. Oh, and someone tell Joker to set a course for Therum."
