Strategy:
Conquer Pataliputra ASAP, then Palemdang when possible. Start researching philosophy (too) early. If you spawn a great engineer in Pataliputra you're lucky, else you will probably have to rush Ankhor Wat.

nice one, but doesn't beat this one:

Khmer, Paragon/Normal, 1360AD, 600AD-scenario, normalized score: 12392, SVN: 789
Spoiler :

The game was pretty straightforward, conquered the Indonesian capitol, Pataliputra and then Pagan, researched Alphabet and then Philosophy (a GS from my capitol got me 1.5k beakers towards this goal).
Unfortunately Japan decided to research Alphabet on their own, so I could only get Calendar from Tibet for my Alphabet but wasn't able to pick up Currency. This meant a really really close finish for the Angkor Wat-wonder (1180 I think), but I didn't even have to use the GE I got in Pataliputra (50% chance priest, 50% chance GE) for it, so I used him later to build a buddhist stupa there.
The save is before using the 2nd GA and ending the turn, I just wanted to show that without this GA I would have finished on the same turn as Rackham did :)

edit: yeah you're right, didnt notice the different difficulty level

Strategy:
Conquer Pataliputra and Pagan ASAP. Contact middle east or Europe for wine, fur or incence (need 2 out of 3). And the most important is training an army. Choose the most productive cities of the area and asign them exclusively to train your army. Believe me, you will need it, and not just for the dutch.

Civilisation: Italy
Score: 3652
Winning date: 1930 (Virtual 1787; Mediterrean lands owned)
Difficulty: Regent
Gamespeed: Normal
Version: SVN 820
Scenario: 600AD

STRATEGY
It depends on AI dinamics...
I chose Genova as capital to own Stone and then wine from France, thanks to cultural expansion. I focused on Wonders UHV and Great Artist used when I discovered Education to reach 5000 culture in Rome, Genove and Venice.
Then i draft an Army to take Balcans and Instambul from Indipendents (otoman empire collapsed very soon. Then I took Budin from a Protenstant Poland and signed a defensive pact with both France and Germany. In 18th century Arabia,Spain,Portugal,Moors,Iran declare war on me but thank to my ally I destroyed Arabia, which collapsed. In 19th century Spain declared war again this time with Russia.... I made a peace treatry with russian and then destroyed Spain. The last one was Moors that I conquered in 20th century just to have all Mediterrean (except for half Sardinia and half Creta where cultural borders don't arrive).

France collapsed in half 19th century. Otoman rose again in first 19th but i defeated them very soon.

ASAP I settled Mogadiscio and conquered Ethiopia (Horses, Incense, Coffee and Ivory).

Cool game. I think Italy is one of those civilizations whose UHV is impossible on higher difficulty levels(Paragon definitely, Emperor not sure), so a Regent/Monarch game is all we can have.

Strategy:
Adopt mercenaries and buy your army. Drop your research rate to zero. Build a temple and work two priests in Marakus ASAP. Conquer Spain and Mali completely.

Thank you! The OP was updated to post #54 (except for post #49: Pippo84, the game closes immediately after loading your save).

well, then lets start with this:

Polynesia, 830 AD, Emperor/Normal, Score: N/A

unfortunately the first 2 UHV-victory conditions don't trigger yet, else the GA would probably have sped up my wonder-production. A victory before 800AD is definitely possible on Emperor. Paragon might take until ~900AD

(file attached is of the point where I settled the last of the 4 areas - before 800AD, so in time for UHV1, you just have to end turn 3-5 times for the statues to be finished.)

Strategy:
If you load the save you will be able to make out most of it, but since this civs game is basically a puzzle I dont want to spoil too much as by now most people wont even have given them a try yet.

thank you for the reminder, I attached the save to the Polynesian victory to this post.

There is not too much to see, basically all my cities are size 1 or 2 except for two which have size 4 for settler-production (and they usually get whipped to 2 during the production).

open the save and see for yourself, I will edit some into this posting later today

Oh. I dont have the game installed or my discs. Otherwise I'd be playing as Polynesia right now. Instead of attempting to live vicariously. Really curious to see what the pacific looks like with the island features

Strategy:
You have to be a multitasking person and follow four distinct strategies at the same time.

First. Raze marseilles (optional), conquer Barcelona, Roma, Cordoba, Lisboa, London, Oslo. After reformation conquer the protestants.

Second. Beeline Optics. Buy divine right from Mali, adopt theocracy fanaticism. Go to conquer Aztecs, Mayas, Incas ASAP and circumnavigate the globe. Beeline, Gunpowder, Astronomy and if you have money discover military science.

Third. After astronomy found Quitu, Mexicalli, Vancouver (3 resources, although it is foreign tile), and traded Manilla. After that settle as many cities in food-rich spots as your budget can stand.

Four. After 2 goals, assign your most productive cities to missionaries and make sure to transfer as soon as possible to bigest infidel cities. OB anyone, catholicism may autospread. EVERY turn counts.

One of the most difficult UHVs in my opinion. Sometimes I think that the 3rd goal is too harse, but the rank is always worthwhile, so ok.

Other:
First time I play with the new culture, resources, island and so on mechanics. They are all great additions.
