Hi guys, dunno whether I am the first, but I won the UHV with Mandinka last night, on the easiest difficulty with lame score of 924 points :mischief:

Virtual victory date 1695, UHV won the next turn.

I founf Timbuktu capital, went for market and straight for the first GM to deliver some goods to Mecca just in time, the second city Accra - built work boat for crab and another work boat for trade routes upwards direction Moors, the third city was Gao - can work both ivory resources and stone, there I used the islamic missionary and built temple, then went for GP in Gao ... researched fishing - meditation - sailing - paper - stoped research and wealth 100% til the end, University of Sankore in Gao slave rushed 3 turns sooner, then settled GP there, got some 6000 cash and a Golden age and second GM in Timbuktu - again heading and waiting in Mecca, I was really lucky meeting some Polish unit at the meditterean region exchanging Paper + Divine Right + 400 cash for Guilds :king:, all 3 cities slave rushed Grocer and Timbuktu 1 settler, which founded a city east of Gao where the cow is (later was razed by camel archer), meanwhile sold Accra to Portugal and begged for every coin everywhere I could, going for the last GM in Gao with four hired merchants, of course plague came in the right time ... but in the last turn gained 3300 cash from my 2 GM. Close one, never gonna do it again, ever.

Yes, actual win date is 1650, because it's "by" 1930AD now, instead of "in" 1930.
Besides, now Firenze is starting with market, grocer, library, art studio and 7 population. All this making Italy UHV doable even on "paragon". And it won't be any hard.

1. Chapel, Basilica, Tower.
Managed to accomplish this goal in 1490, and I didn't rush even a bit.
Generate scientist to bulb philosophy, he able to bulb all philosophy, not just part of it.
Spoiler :
attachment.php

Then bulb banking with merchant, he will be able to bulb only a part of it, but most part, all this while reserching drama and music.
Drama, to build opera house in Firenze, music to build cathedral, and then bulb patronage.
Want to notice, that I had lucky start: in 1180 in french Venise was born engineer and on next turn he has become mine Blaise Pascal ;d
Spoiler :
attachment.php

He has built Notre Dame. Anyways, 2 happiness isn't 20 happiness in the end. And impact of this lucky roll wasn't significant on UHV itself.

2. 3 cities with 5.000+ culture.
Just generate two GA in Firenze, it's not hard with opera house. And then just culturebomb Rome and Venise, in 1600 Firenze already should have 6.000 culture, if not 7.000.
And make sure, that you already have military traditions by that day, to sign defensive pacts with someone. Preferable are Holy Rome and Russia, because Turkey usually declare war on Italy, if 2 goals accomplished, right when golden age is starting.
But they didn't declare war in this time by some reasons.

3. 65% of Mediterranean.
To accomplish this goal fast, switch to mercenaries in 1300 or so, by that day I had around 1000 gold in treasury, hired couple of heavy swords to take independent Alexandia and then few more to take moorish Tripoli.
Taking Cairo is very important, because there is only one available source of horses. In a worst case it should be done by the day when you will have military traditions. But the earlier the better.
Build workshops around Alexandria and produce/hire muskets/bombards there non-stop, Rome and Venise also producing/hiring bombards mostly, non-stop too, we don't need markets/libraries there for UHV itself. In any case taking Belgrad is not possible without siege engines.
In 1600 or so (during golden age) attack Turkey from two sides: one on Belgrado, Constantinople, Athens, another on Yerusalim and Sam. And then close jaws on Konya ;d
In this case Turkey and Russia already was in a war, and probably during very long time, I even have seen how Turkey making new and new units and then they disappear somewhere under "fog of war" and never returns ;d
I have met only couple of city defenders in most cases, except Belgrad and stack of bombards with heavily wounded pikeman near Yerusalim. But I had around 15-20 units left, when I taken Konya, so, I'd say that goal would be accomplished still, even if I would have met tough resistance there. Lucky roll with "long war of Turkey and Russia" is not necessarily.

Lucky me ;d

Spoiler :

But anyways I found all these very close to the end of the game, impact of it on UHV itself is zero.

Everything is almost the same as on Emperor, but a bit harder than I did expect.
Russia helped again, taken Trabzon - last turkish city in their core area, and Turkey collapsed, right when they already was going to completely destroy my tired army ;d

Another day, another victory ;d
Yes, I love to play on Mediterranean ;d
A bit better in this time, kept GA in my army, so that he was able to create great work, and not need to wait 4 turns of city resistance.
Possible to improve, and not on 2-3 turns, on 10-15 i'd say. But it's in better case.
Still is waiting for roll with flip of all holy roman army in Venise, collapsed arabs and weak turks.

3. Mediterranean.
Finally, after so many attempts I had best roll possible, best possible indeed.
Just look at this holy roman army in Venise:
Spoiler :
attachment.php

all this become mine on next turn ;d

Arabs in this game already was in a war with Byzanthium and Holy Rome, when Turkey appeared and declared war on them, Arabia collapsed and shrinked to Rashidun Caliphate, left defenceless Egypt for me to conquer.
Finally upgraded my 3 horse archers to knights and it does mean 6! knights, one of them GG another become GG a bit later.
Knight GG in medieval era almost literally able to move mountains ;d
And after I taken Egypt, arabs completely collapsed and left defenceless Al-quds for me ;d

I'm not sure what exactly happened to turks, but Byzanthium was alive, Turkey had only 2 cities, when I declared on them, it turned out that all their army already dead by that day, have met only 2 longbows in Konya, more or less decent amount of units in Trabzon, not a problem for knights GG with trebs.

And then, fkn cherry on top, Byzanthium collapsed in 1405 or 1410.

"65%" was second accomplished goal, when I finally taken indi Belgrad and borders expanded. Usually it's third. Good roll indeed.

2. Renaissance wonders.
It's not so hard, when you know what to expect.
For situation when AI accomplishesh one of this wonders earlier always keep at least one engineer, just in case. And be ready to ask the AI, to change 3 civics at once, for them it does mean 2 turns of anarchy, helps in most situations.

1. 3x5.000 culture
Culture slider 100%, after I researched last technology I need for UHV itself (in 1465).
Firenze working on birth rate. That is what I call "quite tolerable birth rate":

The OP was updated to post #195. Chep (post #188): after playing from your first save, I got a higher score. If you don't mind, it'll be credited as a collective victory.

JustAnotherNerd, thank you, fixed.
Thank you! The OP is updated to post #211. Publicola, after loading your save (post #196), I saw another score. It's the one in the OP. Wessel V1 replaced Kinkajou and Zaanzie for Babylonia/3000 BC/Monarch/Normal. JustAnotherNerd replaced JustAnotherNerd for Italy/600 AD/Paragon/Normal.

Thank you! The OP was updated to post #212. JustAnotherNerd replaced JustAnotherNerd for Italy/600 AD/Paragon/Normal. The OP is fully up-to-date. There are only 10 civs left.

Hi, This is my first Doc game. Won UHV with Egypt.

Some data:
Civilization: Egypt
Score: 14229
Virtual winning date: turn 132
Actual winning date: turn 152
Difficulty: Monarch
Game speed: Normal
Scenario: 3000 BC
Version: 1.12 (no SVN)

Spoiler :

I got 2nd Great prophet on turn 132 :p (if not Virtual victory would have been T135/T136).

Strategy is simillar to normal RFC Egypt strategy. Siwa as capital on Cotton (+1 trade and marble/Stone/Wheat in BFC). 2nd city on Copper hill.
Poped only one hut in central africa for 100 gold (had to do couple of reloads).

Had to reload to get both Pyramid and Sphinx. Babylon always goes for these. DO NOT WHIP your first wonder. Babylon will definitely steal the other as your production will be low after whip. You have to go for the same 1st wonder as Babylon (if unlucky, using reload) and beat it without whip. Second one can be whipped.

After winning i noticed my total culture is 8494 (1600*2+5294). So 3rd UHV condition can be achieved without Sphinx?

And how to post images?
