Choxorn gets my vote for yesterdays switcha-roo

Yes FOS on Chox for the flip-flop. However, we'll learn more from lynching Kennigit. If Kennigit turns up scum, Chox is most likely scum too due to the suspicious vote switch. If Kennigit turns up innocent, I'd say Chox is looking very pro-town as why would a mafioso ruin a d1 townie lynch?

Disagree. If Kennigit is innocent, I think it says very little about choxorn's alignment, if anything. If one of them is lynched today, I don't think it really matters which one.

To make themselves look good, and more importantly to avoid looking bad (which spearheading the lynch of a townie Day 1 might do). Why are you acting like the mafia are so desperate to lynch townies this early on? If anything, the mafia would try to avoid being associated with bad lynches.

You're also assuming that there is one mafia team and everyone else is townie, which I seriously doubt.

You're twisting my words. Nobody's spearheading in a random d1 9+votes lynch. And I'm not saying they're desperate, just that it doesn't make much sense as a mafia move, too much attention. I'm also not assuming there is only one mafia team and the rest is townies.

Oh, and switching your vote off a teammate in that situation doesn't attract any attention at all? Assuming choxorn and Kennigit are mafia partners, choxorn knows that if he switches his vote like that and Kennigit later turns up as scum, that Day 1 vote switch is going to look really bad; on the other hand, if choxorn is scum and Kennigit is not his teammate, he probably doesn't even think too much about the consequences of changing his vote.

I've been in that situation as a member of a mafia team, and I did not change my vote because I knew the consequences would be severe. I'm speaking from firsthand experience here.

If choxorn and Kennigit are mafia partners, choxorn made an uncharacteristically poor play for someone who is usually fairly ruthless in bussing his scummates. If they're not mafia partners, then his vote switch is trivial and not really worth considering.

I'm also not assuming there is only one mafia team and the rest is townies.

Because there's an implication here that there is one mafia team and the town. What if Kennigit/choxorn is a serial killer, what if he's on an opposing scum team, what if he's a cultist, what if he's neutral, etc. None of these are considered, only that Kennigit and choxorn are either both mafia buddies or both townies.

Mafia are primarily concerned with not getting lynched. They're killing townies every night, it's not nearly as important for the mafia to lynch townies as it is for townies to lynch mafia. During the Day phase, a mafioso's #1 priority is not lynching a townie, but ensuring that they get through the day without raising suspicion.

I didn't say that. But it is a motive. We all agree that it's odd that Choxorn changed his vote in the last minute.

Also valid point. Though in the last game my scumbuddy Newyn could have saved me by jumping off my wagon. In hindsight, and I stress in hindsight, that's what he should have done.

I'm not assuming anything other than that there are at least some mafiosi and some townies in this game. Like you say, there are still many different possible constellations.

True. Though a kill is a kill. And being on a d1 bandwagon isn't raising much suspicion.

I think there's at least two mafia, possibly plus a SK or cult.

Maybe a few townies and one or two neutrals.

Well, there are two kills, and we know there is a Mafiya faction. If there was a single faction it would just be the Mafia, right? it could be flavour, but I also think this game will be at least as complex as the previous.
