The Great War

Following the end of the Mexican-Equestrian War Equestria set its sights on the east. For over 100 years the Equestrian government had maintained a somewhat shaky relationship with the American government. Princess Celestia saw that Equestria now had a minor technological advantage over America and wanted to take full advantage before the Americans caught up and turned their guns on Equestria.

The main issue with this plan was that Equestria was still allied to America. Celestia decided that the best way to deal with this was to start a World War.



Equestria declared war on France who had defensive pacts with a myriad of other nations who all declared war on Equestria. Which caused America and Germany to declare war on these nations.




Shortly after kicking off the first world war Princess Celestia turned right around and declared war on America.




This left America without any allies and at war with over half of the world's nations



Equestria then signed a Alliance with the Mexicans



Meanwhile in Washington DC Rooselvet was bragging to a British Ambassador that an American Flag would be flying over Canterlot by the end of the year.




Operation Overmare



With that the first shots of the the Great war were fired. Ponies stormed the beaches of Omaha, Nebraska. First with guns then with knives. Fighting tooth and hoof to take the city.





Finally Omaha fell to the Discord State putting both shock and disgust into the hearts of the American populous.



In the Atlantic The ESS Pony Voyager was ordered to disrupt American shipping, blockading the North Atlantic route. Meanwhile in the Pacific Japanese ships were beginning to blockade Equestrian waters.



After beginning the blockade a French Destroyer arrived and began the battle of the North Atlantic. After several fierce seconds of fighting the ESS Pony Voyager was destroyed. Thereby obliterating half the Equestrian Navy. It was later revealed that someone had loose lips.




Royal Guards began their invasion of Fort Mitochondrial. In which it was proven that the best defense is not artillery. Fort Midichlorian was secured by the end of the day.





Equestrian units moved towards Grand Forks, sadly they were unable to find any of the famed forks.



In the south an army was deployed to hunt down and destroy That one guy with a bomb. Last seen in Texas.

Operation Vegemite Sandwich



In Australia Princess Celestia had ordered the Colony there to invade The Northern Territory, held by Britain. The colony felt that there was no need to do so since they came from the land of plenty, but complied with the orders none the less.

Equestrian units had begun the invasion of Grand Forks. Pulling out the party cannon and relentlessness playing loud music until all hours of the night.




Equestria stormed Grand Forks. Overtaking the MG nests there through sheer numbers. Equestria began to establish a provisional government in the newly occupied regions.




Shining Timur Armor had emerged in Vanhoover. He was ordered to oversee the defense of Canterlot.

Colonial forces in Australia had arrived near the British City of Darwin. They said to the British force there: "Do you speak-a my language?" The British just smiled and gave the Colonial Force a barrage of bullets.




Near the city of Derby the British had launched an invasion of the Pony held Western Territory. The garrison there told citizens "Can't you hear the British invasion? You better run you better take cover."

Operation Homeland



Equestrian forces were stalled outside of the Texan Capital, forcing them to wait for reinforcements. Under Princess Celetsia's order Equestrian troops continued their march to the east. Pushing further into American territory. Eventually establishing their forces around Nashville.

The Islamic Ottomans decided to trade Biology for Assembly line. Although Equestria wasn't sure what knowing about human biology would accomplish.




A small task force in apart of Operation Iron Buck were deployed to destroy America's access to Iron.



The commander of Equestria's Texan regiment ordered their forces to make an illfated charge against the capital. All while the Mexican army, who was also at war with America just sat back and watched.





Reinforcements from the west had arrived and attempted to attack the city from the south. They had no more success.



The war and near constant draft that was keeping it going was beginning to have an impact on the ponies of Equestria. Some were becoming increasing angry towards the government. Refusing to work, and forming unruly concerts.

Exhausted forces in Texas continued to try in vein to take the city.




In the Pacific Equestria had finally finished its first True Warship and sent it out to destroy the Japanese Blockade, which they had assured Equestria was completely legal.



Equestrian forces in Tennessee had succeeded in taking over Nashville.





Back in Texas Equestrian forces continued their expensive siege. After years of fighting Horseton finally fell to the Discord State.

Haha! Horseton! The puns are top notch.

Are you sure because it seems to be foal of them. But seriously my mane core is a copy of America's core with the exception of the east coast. My stability has been moving in between shaky and stable since before the war.

The Western Front

As the War progressed the difference between civilian and military life became increasingly blurred. Governments throughout the world had shifted their entire economies to focus on "Total War" in which they would fight on; to the last rifle, the last bullet, the last man. While there were obviously those who opposed the war they dared not speak out against their government, not when they were being told that their very way of life was being threatened by the enemy.

In North America Equestria continued its push towards the east coast. Equestrian units had engaged a group of Spanish explorers.



In Can-t-erlot the Celestiaburg, a dirigible airship, had been built. Initially meant to be a transport ship the airship was quickly converted for military use. Oh the Ponyanity.



On the Western Front Equestria's Army had come to a stop at Nashville to await reinforcements and supplies. The Americans took advantage of this, destroying howitzer pieces.




As the war raged on some of the more isolated or disinterested Allied Nations grew tired of the war. The Babylonians, whom had broken free from American Colonialism earlier in the war, agreed to peace terms with the Equestrians.



In the Pacific Equestria's Warship had scored a major victory against Japan's navy. Ending their brockade of the West Coast. Seeing that the war no longer served any purpose for them the Japanese agreed to peace.




In the South Equestrian Boarder Patrol had boxed in a group of Scandinavian Tourists. When local newspapers asked for comment the commander of the Equestrian unit stated: "They're just standing there, menacingly."




Equestrian explorers were attacked by an angry Canadian named Scott.



Shining Timur Armor was given the task of assembling an invasion force to put an end to the war in the East. With the Japanese having recently signed a peace treaty this just left Greater China and Mongolia.

Operation Amareica



As more and more troops and supplies flooded into Nashville Equestrian commanders were preparing for the final push to the East Coast. In early 1940 over 9000 Equestrian troops crossed the boarder into the Appalachian mountains.




They received fairly little interference as they began their march towards Washington.

In the south the Celestiaburg had started a bombing run against the Scandinavians.



Which was followed up by an attack by the the Boarder Patrol.




Shining Timur Armor's invasion fleet sailed for the east. Its flagship, the ESS Discord, leading the way, by being the slowest.



Equestria began working on its image in the Middle East. Making Alliances with the local powers there.




As well as giving the Persians electricity for the knowledge of Evil. Celestia assured Equestria that they could harness its power without it overpowering Equestria.

In the midst of the war tensions were high. Ponies were scared. A pony doesn't like to admit she's scared. She wasn't afraid to die. She knew death was coming to all of us. She was afraid she might have to go a long time living like this.

Some ponies were even having thoughts of sedition. Being so bold as to ask to join the enemy. These individuals were immediately sent to an internment camp on the west coast.



Despite the troubles at home the Equestrian army continued its push against America. Equestrian Howitzer began the bombardment of the American Capital.

With the defenses of Washington decimated the Royal Guard began its charge into Washington.



After a few hours of tense fighting the relatively small American Defense force was pushed out of Celestiaton.



With the fall of the American Capital Equestrian Forces moved further north to find the new provisional capital of New York.



As the Equestrian Army moved closer to New York they found the Americans now had machine guns defending the city.







Meanwhile the Celestiaburg had arrived in the Middle East and began scouting out Russian lands.

Operation Mongolians Stir Fry



After a few years of sailing Shining Timur Armor's forces had landed in South Korea. With the objective of securing the peninsula from Mongolian influence.



Shortly after landing the invasion fleet was engaged by the Mongolian navy.



Followed by a ground based attack against Shining Armor's forces.




Shining Timur Armor, and the bulk of his invasion army were destroyed shortly after landing. Making Operation Mongolian Stir Fry an abysmal failure and an embarrassment to the nation of Equestria.

After taking massive losses of one explorer Spain agreed to a peace treaty with the Discord State.



Equestrian forces had succeeded in completely surrounding New York cutting it off from the rest of America.



The Americans then sent on Cavalry to break through the lines.






As Equestrian units tried in vein to escape from the killing fields of Korea they were informed of Babylonian Tea exports.

The American Civil War

Under immense pressure from the Equestrian army and internal disintegration the United States of America descended into anarchy. It is unknown exactly how many perished in the civil war, most records of it were deemed trivial in comparison to the Great War.



Princess Celestia ordered an immediate invasion of the new squabbling city states of America. Quickly once again surrounding New York.



Manehatten fell to Equestria within a matter of days.




Merchants had made a good deal of money selling the pillaged goods of America in Mexico.



Equestria came into contact with the Incan Regions of South America. Additionally Peace was reached with the Islamic Indians.




Equestria began to consolidate its new found holdings on the Eastern Coast. Some ponies celebrated, others knew that the war was far from over.

The Return of Chaos

War weariness had been building in Equestria since before the onset of the Great War. Yet it was nothing compared to the festering disdain that some ponies had developed against the ruling aristocracy of Equestria. For generations Equestria's leadership had been taking advantage of the common pony. While seldom few dared to speak out against the Princess there was an opposition forming.

As the war raged on Santa Anna decided that the Axis was too main stream and broke its alliance with Equestria.





Princess Celestia was at first taken aback by Mexico renouncing Equestria but soon realized that Santa Anna must have had a good reason for doing so. Because Princess Celestia knew that Santa Anna was awesome.

India sought to drag Equestria into a myriad of wars that it had just gotten out of.





On the Atlantic Coast Equestrian Troops continued pushing northward. The invasion of the independent American city of Point-Saint-Ann ended in victory for Equestria. Poiny-Saint-Ann was annexed by the end of the day.





In the pacific a Galleon was being pursued by two Mongol Destroyers.

Celestia Gets Stoned



Since before the start of the Great War Discord had been manipulating events in Equestria to shore up as much chaos and disorder as possible in preparation for a take over. The onset of conflict proved to be exactly what Discord had been waiting for. With the growing confusion caused by the Great War Sombra escaped the imprisonment in the Frozen North.

Discord and King Sombra saw how miserable life was Earth ponies, Pegasi, and unicorns alike so they combined their powers and rose up against Celestia, turning her to stone. Establishing the Realm of Chaos.

Discord decided to make peace with the Mongols who were also Communist Chaos-Aligned.



A new international Congress was called in an effort to curb tail the Great War. It accomplished little more than to shift the control of a few cities far off from Equestria.

Operation Enduring Quebec



With the taking of Poiny-Saint-Ann Discord set his sights on French Canada. For he knew that there was no Canada like French Canada, the best Canada in the land.




Equestrian Troops began the siege of Fort St. Louis Pris Von De Napoleon.




After about two years of fighting the city of Fort St. Discord Pris was seized by Equestria.



In the upheaval of a global war and a recent communist revolution the citizens of Calixhoof had 99 problems and not having a library was one of them.




The Roamin Republic had come into contact with Equestria. Being a Republic they naturally traded the knowledge of Dictatorship to Equestria.






Meanwhile Pope Stalin called for an enlightened end to the war against the Soviet Union. Which failed because Discord felt they were too red.



An alliance was forged with the Inca.



Discord had pig iron he had all the pig iron, at least that what he told the great masses.

As the war in Canada dragged on supplies were becoming more and more scarce in the Equestrian Army. Therefore, in some regiments, for every two ponies there was only one sword. One pony got a sword, the next pony got some 'magic'. The second pony followed the pony with the sword, and when he was shot, picked up the sword and carried on fighting.



Equestria continued to press into French Canada. Taking more and more casualties.




With the complete annexation of French Canada France decided to make peace with the Realm of Chaos.



Equestria continued the taming of Quebec. Despite votes to secede, Quebec quickly fell.




Mongolia felt that Babylon was too powerful to handle alone and therefore begged Equestria for helped. In the enormity of it all Equestria had to deny Mongolia's call for Humanitarian aid against the Great Babylonian Empire.
