Bronze Working
Pottery

Here is the possible trade that CT and I discovered in todays TC. (Though CT found it first :p). Please discuss on this trade weather we should go with it or not :).

I would rather wait the three turns to Bronze just to see if they're going to have anything else.

And, by the way, such a trade won't retain them to sneak attack our undefended capitol. We would have to give them a GPT or luxury for them to consider it like that.

I would vote against this trade. We get Bronze Working in 3/4 turns, so that's not worth much. And what rests is pottery +10gold vs. the wheel, and that's not really worth the trade too.

Can't do a gpt deal. We aren't making any money. (0gpt).

But, I like the trade.

I prefer to hold it for 3 turns till we study bronze ourselves. We by then have most likely a 2nd city, more warriors and we can see whether the Babs have some other interesting techs (Iron or perhaps they've popped a tech from a hut or researced one).

I know that, and we should consider waiting, just because there is a High chance they'll attack us, considering we don't have a defender and they're agression level 4 (out of 5).

If we are discovering bronze in just a few, this trade ceases to be worth it. I say no trade.

Currently we have 3 turns left for Bronze Working (If someone who is realy into Civ3 and loves to get his/her hand's dirty can convert this to the value in gold :p )

I beleve we should go ahead with the trade, but I need to see if the Pottery, 10g and the other part of the Bronze Working is realy worth it's weight in gold.

Well, how about we reduce Science by 10%, Drop Wheel from our side of the table, and combine Raw Gold and GPT only for Pottery.

I would be against any more than 2 GPT, and if 1 GPT + 10 Gold doesn't cut it, yet 2 GPT would, we get as much Raw Gold from the Babs as we can.

In Other Words:
Babs Give: ----- We Give:
Pottery -------- Up to 2 GPT OR 1 GPT + up to 10 Gold
Up to 10 Gold

How do you keep spaces in these things anyway?

At this point of the game, I would be against giving up gold (both lump sum and GPT) with our small wallets.

Yeah... I don't want to give up our Ancient Ace "The Wheel", (especially since we won't be settling near the horses anytime soon,) we get Bronze in 3-4, and noone wants to change the budget... I'll keep my proposal up for the purposes of the poll, but I'd probably vote "wait". Unless they attack our settler. But would they do so within 20 turns of the start?

Then again, if they DO have Iron Working, we're in trouble anyway.

At least we aren't playing an "Always War." :P

Trade while we still can get 2 techs +gold.
Wheel is starting tech, some civs will gladly trade it with babilonians so we could miss nice opportunity and this is great offer.
3 turns to BW is much, waiting is risky.
And if we get BW in 3 turns than trade will wait even longer because we don't know what will be their next tech. The point is if we do not trade now and discover BW ourselves than we should not trade untill they get some other tech but we can't be sure we will be able to trade for pottery and that tech.

i wouldnt do the trade, even though pottery looks nice...
i told you we would meet the babylons eary! muwahaha....

We should research BW, then see what we can trade.

My 2.00000052067 cents.

Invy, Wheel is Starting Tech exclusive to Japan. Who else will have it?

If we give it to Babs, the best case scenario is that Babs get to next tech (Iron?) quickly. That is best case. I don't know the tech rates... Babs MIGHT have gotten Pottery on their own in 17 turns... they probably did.

But if they traded for Pottery... then Babs would trade away Wheel for Gold or other Tech! This would Give Babs or others too much power too early.

At the very least, they might get to see the Horses to the South and settle nearby. (Then again, they may know about them anyway... :shakehead: )

Under Best Case: Let's wait. They'll come up with something probably within 13 turns.

Under Trade Case: Wait for something better.

At all cost: Do NOT Trade Wheel to Only 1 Civ!
