Included here are the following peace renegotiations that are possible at this turn. I did not include renegotiations that are not possible (IE we can make a peace treaty by itself but dont gain anything) or another civ finds offensive (IE The peace treaty is not and will not be accepted).

French: Will offer 40g max and/or RoP
Babylons: Will offer 1g max (This is all the cash they have)
Aztecs: Will offer 4g max (This is all the cash they have)
Russians: Will offer 1gpt max or 20g max but not both, Will offer 1gpt and 2g at the same time
Americans: Will offer 3g max (This is all the cash they have)

The gold amounts are the maxumum the civ can offer to us.

I do not support extortion for peacedeals, as we will only alienate our neighbors.
We need preparedness before we extort. Extortion wihtout doctrine is Embryonism.

I dont support it eather, but I had to post this information here and the FAs office so that I can hear what the other citizen's opinions on this would be. Eather they support it or not.

Well, then you should add your own analysis with the finding, so we avoid situations like the too early Roman war and the cancellation of the Lighthouse Wonder. All these episodes come when some present an option without analysis, and some hotheads whip up an atmosphere "Let's get them" and then we are embroiled in a war we did not plan.

I have looked through the chart and noticed that everytime each combo is used that the FAs guy in the upper right hand corner always says "They will accept this deal". I beleve that it would be safe to go ahead to proceed with these renegotiations, since there will be no reprocussions in these renegotiations. I made sure to only select the ones that will ensure that we can get both something in return and a peace treaty.

I dont beleve we should abandon the posibilities of renegotiation of a peace treaty in exchange for a huge sums of gold namely the French and Russian renegotiations. I do however support gaining the ones with the greater gold but leave the ones with petty cash alone.

The Roman Peace treaty is still clocked at 8 turns to go before re-negotiations are possible.

@ Provo - CG did this at my request. My analysis is as follows:

We should not bother with any of the small fry - a better option may come up later.

I like the idea of signing a ROP with the French - whether we renegotiate peace or not - what do other people think? Particularly if we're going to go for diplo victory, we need to start some serious trade and foreign affairs discussions.

We should wait with Rights of Passage treaties, especially as we still wait for new resources to be seen. We now need luxuries, tech trades and maybe later strategic resources. Right of passage must wait till we built some critical infrastructure up north.

But i dont think we should have a right of passage with out a doctrine for them, and no doctrines unless we have a doctrine for making doctrines. wait this sounds like the start to a beautifull doctrine.

I totally agree with Rik, we are by far a superpower, and we do not need to destroy our challenge by squeezing pennies out of the minors, that is just miserly and pathetic.

Besides, we've got very lucerative deals regarding France and Russia up for debate in Trade. (Russia: MT & 30+GPT for Econ@2nd, France: 100+GPT for Chem@2nd)

We should stop using these renegotiations, its practically a cheat. Or we should vote (or let ministers decide) will they renegotiate peace with some civ and they would do that during TC, not before like we're doing it.

The point is Chinese, for example, won't accept peace and we would have to pay them if we would renegotiate, or we would have to declare war. But we're now cheating: its simple 'quit the game and reload' like nothing happened if we can't get good deal. down with cheats
