Charter of the Democratique Etente

This body is desgined to help in the defence of democracy the world over.

Article One

The Democratique Etente promisies to support the ideals of universal human rights, of liberty, justice and security. We will promote the idea as much as possible and endevour to support those nations who bring these ideals forward. Any democratic process is progress in our eyes!

Article Two

Nations of the Democratique Etente will endevour to have as an open and transparent government with full democratic rights to all citizens over the national age requiorements. Futhemre we will work towards promoting the growth of democracy worlwide

Article Three

Free speech is enshrined as the parmount right of all peoples. Therefore free speech is encouraged in this forum

Article Four

All nations of the Democratique Etente promise each other mutual military assitance if one of their number is attacked. An attack on one member of the Democratique Etente is an attack on all members.

Article Five

The postion of Secretary General will be voted on every five years. All nations are ellgible to place a cadidate forward. However each nation is NOT allowed to vote on their own candidate. 51% is needed so runoffs will be used to elect the SC.

Article Six

The headquaters of The Democratique Etente will be held at Paris.

Article Seven

Other nations may join this alliance if they follow the articles of this alliance. To join you need two other nations to nominater you. Once becoming a provisional member, a full vote is required where 51% is required to gain full membership status.

At the same time to expel a nation from the organisation a full vote is required once more with a 51% majority.

Article Eight

The General Secretary is authorised to make emergency diplomatic overtures, temporarily suspend a nation for 1 RL day while a vote is being held on that nation's membership, and generally keeps track of all projects. diplomacy and stuff.

Provisional Members

The UK proposes that the alliance be headquartered in Paris, France. (Soon to be UK, as Alex is changing after battle orders are done)

The nations of Denmark and Venezuela withdraw from this alliance, as they are not in full agreement with all of its clauses.

Australia requests membership.

OOC: Only because the GIA refused me entry.

We remind Venezuala that they are considered a democarcy as the democratically elect their President, and Denmark which is a constiutional monarchy.

Canada is considering joining this Alliance, and it currently weighing the benefits and drawbacks. Our decision will come in the following days, after we have a vote on this in our Parliament.

It is enough to say that neither of the two mentioned countries, Venezuela and Denmark, fully agree with the revised charter, and will therefore leave the alliance

The Dominion of Canada formally asks for Membership into the DE, unless the UK objects to this.

So who's the secretary general?

The UK votes Yes on Vietnam's request for membership provided the French government has no qualms over this.

Canada cannot be nominated, as Canada is not a member, according to Article 7

Canada is still waiting to be nominated, and/or for the vote to take place to accept Canada into the DE.

Canada would be honoured to be the SecGen, but wishes to remind the members of the DE that Canada is still a Dominion of the United Kingdom, and thus, all Foreign policy Decisions for Canada, and all other British Dominions are made by the United Kingdom. Basically, Canada might not be the best choice to be the SecGen, given Canada's Dominionship, but we will of course accept this honour of our DE allies feel it justified.

Canada cannot be the Secretary General, as it does not have the power to lead international bodies and organizations.

NB: On a side not all Dominon's should automatically get to to join this DE if the mother nation is a member and agrees.

Then we nominate for Sec Gen's postion the United Kingdom.

I am also nominating Argentina to join this body. They have already accepted and we need a simple majority vote for it to be legitmate.


occ: All nations before this were accepted straight away to conserve time and build the alliance up quicker. If you guys have a problem with this tell me, and the nation you have a problem with. I will then call for a vote on that nation and your own for entry into the DE.

Canada also nominates Argentina to join this body.

Canada supports the UK's bid to become SecGen.

Vietnam nominates and votes for Argentina to join.
