C3C PBEM : "Tanaka" - WWII pacific scenario PBEM (level : newbees)

Hi, this is the thread for the new WWII Pacific conquest PBEM aimed at newbies.

One experienced player would be a nice addition to help around.

The general Tanaka wrote a report in 1927 encouraging Japanese expansion. The eventual result of this is the conflict you will take a part in.


It is for Conquests, using the MP version of the WWII Pacific scenario and the patch 1.22.
So you need to have both Conquests and the patch 1.22 installed on your computer.

You can also check the sticky thread "newbee guide" where you can find tons of informations on how PBEM works, what you can do and what you should not do, etc... but if it is not clear enough, you can ask here and we will answer you (we are a community of friendly and helpful people).

Organization : the game will be called Tanaka to be recognizable and when you get the game, send a mail to inform the sender you got it (GPS = Got it, Played it, Sent it).

Special rules :
- no city razing or abndonning !
- VP level raised to 50,000 (game more balanced).

Loulong, why don't you use eric_A's Typhoon of Steel scenario? It is far better than the original WW2 Pacific scenario.

I have sent a mail to all players. I will set up play order and civs when I receive a confirmation mail from each one.

@ augurey : sorry but someone signed in by PM before clasical hero which makes you first replacement and el_Tigre second.

When this one has started anyway I will probably set up another newbee one but around Rise of Rome. Let me know if it is OK with you to play in that one, even though it is not the same scenario at all.

1/ Tos by Eric_A is still in progress (we are actually beta-testing it in the PBEM)
2/ because, especially for newcomers, it is easier to start with a scenario everyone has and that requires no additional download.

About e-mails : I asked you to send me your e-mail by PM so as to avoid bots huntingfor e-mails on websites.

I have them now anyway (and your partners will have them soon) so I advise you to edit your posts and erase them (it could mean a bit les spam...).

@ classical_hero : the fact you change mail is not a problem.
You will just need to inform everyone when you switch to the new e-mail.

What level should we be playing at?

The times I can play will vary, it depends on work. On the weekend I should be able to play at any time I am awake. I normally finish work at 4:30 so most times after 5pm Perth time (9:00 GMT) to about what time I need to go to bed. This varies with how much work I have.

It does not have much effect anyway as your opponents are human and not AI that get tons of bonus...

Everybody has confirmed but I am still missing Fab-Blaker-Boy's playing times for the play order.... please give them ASAP.

I want to repeat once again it is important you play and send the save ASAP !

Besides, remember you can use conscription (draft units) and mobilization in this game. It can make a huge difference if you use them wisely.

Okay gentlemen,

I've sent an e-mail with my suggestion for a coordinated Allied Strategic Defense Plan (ASDP) to all allied generals. Read it, comment it, stick to it whenever possible.

We'll get those Japs out of our shores. Then we'll crush their tiny little island. Then our MiGs will be flying all over the world!! Oops, I mean... then there will be world peace.

Oops, my bad. Sorry for that. Too bad as I thought it would be nice to see a female playing in this PBEM

Status Report. I mesed up so i had to start again sorry about that. I forgot to have the .sav at the end when I saved my game. Since it is late, I will have to start this towmorrow. Again I apologised for this stuff up.
