Domestic T3 P2- When to revolt to Republic?

This poll is to decide when we will switch governments, from Despotism to Republic. Since we will be getting republic soon, we need to decide when to switch. It will be open for 48 hours. I urge all citizens to vote on this important issue, so we can clearly tell what our nation's interests are on this topic.

Aah. I was hoping that there would be a groundswell of opinion to go Monarchy - democracy, just like we brits did in real life.... but since we are determined to go the boring, standard, I can't be bothered to think of anything different - Republic route, then the sooner the better.

i'm starting to think you're right. i should've realized we'd get republic and peace with dutch at basically same time. so all the votes for option 1 and 2 will count as the same thing.

Citizens, I urge you all to consider that if we do switch governments now in a time of war, we would criple our own production to produce badly needed culture producing buildings and units to replace the following. We should go into reviloution after the Dutch war has ended.

I'll vote option 1 (or 2). Actually, as far as military goes, now is the best time for a switch. India is a pushover.

For those of you who voted to switch imediately, I do hope you understand the consequence of having a halted production during anarchy. Which means No Units being produced and no Culture building being produced.

No buildings. Culture points are produced, but at half rate I think.
Anyway, we'll have to go through anarchy sometime, or stay in despotism forever (which might not even be a bad idea....)

Misread what CivGeneral typed. I believe that culture is produced like normal during anarchy. Can someone please give us a :hammer:

yes, but you can produce the buildings before anarchy.

edit: fark... i meant the second choice. Can I get that changed?

I was refering to production of Culture producing buildings. Not Culture Buildings (already built) producing culture.

Have not thought about culture production. Mainly I am conserned with shield productions. Perhaps I can dovetail both culture and production into my main reasons why we should wait untill after war. Ill still fight to push forward to wait untill war is over to revolt, Much like Senator Joseph Lieberman and Rob Simmons are going to do to counter the BRAC.

The ending of the Dutch War is almost certainly going to be the first act of the next turnchat. After the Dutch War and immediately we get the tech are therefore going to be one and the same.

We revolted on turn 0 (280 AD) and got 5 turns of Anarchy

We are now a Republic!
