City of Civatonia - 30 AD

Build queue

Swordsman -> Horseman -> Swordsman

Worker Actions

Mine BG S of Civatonia.
Road BG S of Civatonia.
Mine BG SSW of Civatonia.
Road BG SSW of Civatonia.

City Tile Micromanagement

If we get a mined BG, for 11-shields per turn, on the 3rd turn of the cycle, move the laborer from the mined BG to the horses for extra commerce, unless the BG is roaded already.

Don't accept any flips.

Berlin would be the German city to capture. You'll probably have to turn all citizens to taxmen or scientists (depending on whether we're researching), but if not, micromanagement is left to the DP's discretion.
If it turns out to be possible to build a worker, do so. If not, start a courthouse.

City of Priapos - 30AD - Instructions

Note: All compass directions using this compass.

Build Queue:

Change current build from Treb to Hoplite
(finish) Hoplite -> Trebuchet -> Cathedral (or Colloseum prebuild)

Possible Worker Actions:
Mine ESE (Wines)
Road NW (Roadless Hills)
Mine & Road E (Grass)

City Tile Micromanagement:

Being on the edge of war with Germany, I'm sure that the micromanagement will most likely be screwed up by that danged archer. So, try to go as far as possible with this build, but the DP will most likely have to take over. If this happens, try to finish the Treb, then go to the pre-build. When the pre-build starts, MM to concentrate on Commerce unless Monotheism is discovered. In that case, concentrate on Production and Commerce.

Anywhere you see "N" should be put on "NE" if the road in the NE mined hill is complete.

Turn 0: Switch production to Hoplite. Place Laborers on WNW (Fish), ESE (Wines), SE (BG), 2NW (BG), and two coastal squares. This should bring us to +5 food and +5 shields.

Turn 1: Hoplite finishes. Switch to Trebuchet. Place laborers on WNW (Fish), SE (BG), 2NW (BG), 2SE (BG), N (Hill), 2NE (Grass) for +3 Growth, +10 Shields (after Corruption).

Turn2: With population growth to 7, put the new laborer on ESE (Wines). This should move us at +4 growth and +10 shields.

Turn4:The Trebuchet should finish. We should be at 11/40 growth. Concentrate on Commerce by putting the Laborers on WNW (fish), three coastal areas, SE (BG), 2NE (BG), ESE (Wines). This should put the city at +5 growth and +4 shields (You can micromanage these tiles if Olympus needs them, just move the laborers to another 3-commerce tile, or the best commerce tile available. However, if you do this, make sure to do any MM when the growth goes to 8).

Also, if Monotheism is discovered at any time afer finishing the Trebuchet, please re-MM for production and commerce and no waste etc. In that case, ignore the rest of these Labor instructions.

Turn9: With growth at 36/40, move the laborer from 2NE to NE.

Turn10: With population at 8, continue MM for production and commerce.

Trade and Tech

Trades
We give the Persians Literature in return for Silks and 3 gold.
We give Rome The Republic in return for 6gpt and 161 gold.
We give France The Republic in return for 4gpt and 46 gold.

Research at 30%
monotheism then feudlism then Chiavelry

City of Olympus

Queue: Colosseum, Granary.
Placement of workers is done by using this compass
MM: Move the citizen from the SSE tile and move him to the S tile.

Build: Marketplace (12) noteIf the war with Germany goes badly and we run short of units before end of turn 4, it is permissible to change production to military units at DP's discretion. If the war is going badly after turn 4, production may change if the President has authorized a cash rush to complete the market without loss and start a unit, otherwise stop play.

MM: At size 6, maximize shield production, no need for excess food.

Worker actions: If workers are allocated by the President, complete roading the forest, mine and then road one of the unimproved plains.

recommendations in the absense of Presidential instructions:
After the trade with Persia completes, lower lux% to the lowest level which maintains the sufficient happieness in all cities to keep riots from breaking out.

noteThe 30% instruction from T&T is not binding, but recommend following it unless the President posts otherwise.

Build queue

Temple (5 with short rush on turn 0) -> Market (12 with short rush on turn 9) -> Prebuild for Knights Templar

Please note the short rushes!

Worker Actions

Worker 1 (Currently SE of City)
turn 1: goto gold hill and mine (6 turns)
turn 7: go N to the grassland Forest E of the city and chop
turn 9: irrigate
turn 11: move SE to hill ESE of the city (next to the gold hill) and road
turn 14: mine (6 turns)

2nd Worker currently mining gold hill
turn 1: leave mining
turn 7: go N to the grassland Forest E of the city and chop
turn 9: irrigate
turn 11: move SE to hill ESE of the city (next to the gold hill) and road
turn 14: mine (6 turns)

3rd Worker (currently roading the plains W of the city)
goto the Plains W of the city
irrigate (4 turns)
road (6 turns)
move S to the plains 2SW
irrigate (4 turns)
road (6 turns)

In case of war, the DP may interrupt the Workers and get them to safety if it is necessary to do so.

City Tile Micromanagement

turn 0: leave as they are
turn 7: when the gold hill is mined, move the citizen on the forest to the gold hill
turn 10: the city should grow to size 7 and the new citizen should have been put on the forest. Move the new citizen to an irrigated plains.

In case of unhappiness and in the event that use of the lux slider is not authorised, the DP may use specialists to prevent disorder. In the event that the MM does not work as planned the DP may use their best to complete the builds as quickly and efficiently as possible while maintaining +2fpt

Rushes
turn 0: Short rush the Temple by rushing a Sword (or something else worth 30 shields) then switching back to the Temple. There are 6 shields stored, rushing 24 shields to 30 shields for a cost of 96 gold, switching back to the Temple will then give 5 turns at 6spt to complete it.
turn 9: Short rush the Market by rushing a Hoplite (or anything worth 20 shields) then switching back to the Market. There should be 17 shields stored after the forest chop, leaving a rush of only 3 shields costing 12 gold.

Worker Joins
None.

NB: All directions are using the following compass:
compass_small.jpg

Note: to add my comments to Governor DaveShack's - it is more important to maintain production in our cities than restarting research on techs we will get from the Great Library and that means using the lux slider rather than entertainers. The 30% science slider is not supported in any poll to my knowledge.

Wars
-Declare War on Germany this Turnchat. try to do so when we the capture of Berlin is millitarily viable (go to the German diplo screen and then renegotiate peace, and then declare war. this will minimize the rep hit to war declaration)
- Don't Declare War on any other nation this Turnchat

Foreign Civ Problems
- If Persia or Rome demands money or a tech from us, give it to them
- If France or Germany demands money or a tech from us, don't give it to them
- Give in to German demands if France has already declared war, or vice versa (we shouldn't be at war with both of them by chat's end!)
- If German or French troops enter our territory, ask them to leave
- If Persian or Roman troops enter our territory, wait a turn or 2. If they don't leave yet, then ask them to get out

Turnchat Underway.

Turn 0
Turn 5
Turn 6

This turnchat ended on turn 6. We have an opportunity to start our Golden Age...

TimBentley has a job. Berlin has fallen. Rumors have it Greek swordsmen are running around the city.

Ministery of Defense:

This is the big TC, I'll start off with the Defense of Fanatiko's,

To face the German Threat to our South, we'll want a balanced Hoplite, Swordsman Defense. Finish the Swordsman and send him down South a bit to read off of what the germans are going to do. After him sned any extra Hoplites, (Not inclded in the plan in a 'Zone Defense' Around Olympus and Priapos, make sure they can move to whichever area they want to quickly.

Basically just hunt down the Germans and finish them off.

For the War on Germany, it would be nice if they declared on US, but thats not nessaary. As soon as you feel we're ready for it, I trust that you can by now, send the troops into German Territiory, follow the War Plan stated before, (I'll get it up very soon) BAsically just send the Swordsman in and cross the river and THEN attack Berlin, use the Horseman to stop re-inforcements and send the Hoplites in when Berlin is ours. Im hoping for a one turn siege.

Start our Golden Age by attacking an archer with a hoplite?

The War Zone

Summary
We declared war on Germany, moved our units to Berlin with the aid of distracting horsemen, and captured it along with 1 slave. We are still currently at war with Germany.

Wonderful news and an excellent session!

I'd like to copy a post I've made in the Presidential thread.

Citizens,

My sincere apologies for missing the instructions for the game session. A matter came up early this morning, and I completely forgot about transferring my proposed instructions over.

I hope my lapse did not cause any issues, and will take steps to ensure it does not happen again.
