Manifest

Definition: The term "government" above and below covers all institutions performing tasks officially assigned by the Consitution of the Game of Democracy and its Code of Laws, as well as all members and subsidiaries of those institutions. Specifically, it covers not only the executive branch, but also the legislative, the judiciary, and any other eventual branches.

1. The CFITG is an open, democratic, non-governmental organization.

2. The CFITG does not advocate anarchy, it does believes in the necessarity of a government and therefore does not fight against such. Instead, the CFITG assist the government by improving its relationship with its own citizens, even if the government sometimes refuse and resist such assistance.

3. The CFITG does not discourage its members from joining political parties, participating in political activities or even taking governmental positions. However, in order to avoid conflict of interest and to maintain independency, objectiveness and public credibility, any CFITG office holder (those who hold offices within the CFITG, see below) accepting a high-level membership of a political party or a governmental position is automatically suspended from his or her CFITG office until the respective high-level party membership or governmental position ends. A suspended office holder still remains a member of the CFITG, with all the rights and obligations.

4. Among other means, the CFITG publishes a newsletter called "Government Watch" to inform the public about the government and its surroundings. All citizens, CFITG member or otherwise, are welcomed to share their insights and insider informations. The anonymity of all informants is highly guaranteed.

Offices

Speakers: The CFITG has two speakers representing it in the public. Both speakers are completely equal in their status. One of the speakers shall be female, unless no suitable candidate can be found. The speakers are elected by all CFITG members after being nominated by any member.

Investigators: The CFITG has a number of investigators keeping a close look at the government's operation and digging for pieces of informations hidden under the surface. They also listen to citizens' complaint against lack of information about certain government issues, and talk to informants who are willing to provide insider knowledges. The investigators are elected by all CFITG members after being nominated by any office holder.

Editor and co-editors of "Government Watch": The "Government Watch" newsletter has one editor and a number of co-editors. They process informations collected by the investigators and put them into articles easy and pleasant to read. The editor is elected by all CFITG members after being nominated by any office holder. The co-editors are elected by all CFITG members after being nominated by the editor.

Mode of operation and rules of conduct in detail

Subject to further discussion.

Count me in! I'd like to appoint for becoming speaker or investigator!

This is great. The first issue of "Government Watch" is scheduled to publish within a week, with yours truly as the provisonal editor. :)

I'm VERY curious about this first issue AND I'm looking forward to it!

I also will participate.

PS: Couldn't this organization become election monitors? (the people from independent organizations who check to ensure 'free and fair' elections)

It's a nice idea, but hardly implementable. We don't have access to the election data and cannot detect fraud. However, we *can* and *will* monitor the formal correctness of the elections (like when someone puts off a dirty campagn), of course.

Probably best starting your own group if you want one like this as the leader has left the demogame.

Why is that? There's still a need for an organization like this, if the membership is still around, and there's nothing in the proposal for the organization that says that the founder must nominate or be nominated as the speaker for the Center.

Having said that, I think you do have a good point - that there's not been a lot of activity on this thread. Members of the Center? Are you still around? Is there still interest in getting this ball rolling? We could open up nominations for speakers, vote for speakers, and then have them nominate investigators.
