Oxford vs Cambridge Varsity match

There was a thread in Civ 4 General Discussions last month some time about how disgraceful it was that Oxford University was chosen over Cambrdige in Civ 4. On that thread there was talk of a varsity match taking place some time over the Chrismas break.

I'm not entirely sure when we should have the game, but I think it will probably take place over several nights. I think after Christmas will probably be best, as some people may be getting the game at Christmas. I'd go for the first week on January. Having just written that, I think maybe this thread is being posted a tiny bit early... oh well!

I'll just bash out some basic proposed rules, though I can see these might change:

Provisional Rules

• Players must either
  1. be a present or past member of any Oxford or Cambridge college,
  2. or live either in, or in the region of one of the two cities.
• Each team must have an equal number of players. Substitutions will be allowed at any time.
• Each team will be allowed to call one "restart" within the first three turns of the game. Each team may do this only once. (This should eliminate any insane bad luck on the start)

This sounds like a great idea! Since I should have enough time over the Christmas hols, and I'll have familiarised myself with the game by then, I'll sign up for this, and proudly represent Cambridge in my first Varsity Match (against The Other Place, bah!!!).
Incidentally, The Great Apple and I are both first year students in the same Cambridge College, and we happen to know each other!

I shall give this thread a little bump, Christmas now having passed.

Is there anybody from Oxford willing to take up the challenge?
