Hopefully some people have Warlords now.

The Pope has given the word. Devout followers of Christ have been united under a common goal. France, Italy and England have sent pilgrims far and wide to spread the word of God, and strike down those who oppose it. So begin The Crusader Wars.

Maptype - Terra
Mapsize - Normal
Level - Monarch
Leader - Any of either France, Italy or England's leaders'. (Liz is closest to the time it happened, I think)
Speed - Epic
Victory - Diplomacy (preferable), Conquest or Domination
All other settings normal

Variants
I'll be popping into Worldbuilder and making our capital the Christian Holy City...however, to offset the advantage of having a religion off the bat, we won't start with any Worker techs. :crazyeye:

At some point in the game, every living civilization must be Christian.

At some point in the game, every city must have Christianity.

These last two variants will obviously be more difficult the longer we wait into the game. It doesn't matter if there are only 10 cities in the world at 15AD and they all have Christianity, and then by 1800AD, there are 50 cities and only half have it. This is still acceptable, although we should, in the spirit of the game, make it a priority to spread the word everywhere.

EDIT: Also worth noting is that the upload system (your personal space), won't yet accept CivWarlordsSave files, so until it does, just zip them, or use the off site upload servers (assuming they allow the filetype).

Does that mean that "At some point in the game, every city must have ONLY Christianity" for the variant to be true or does the civ just have to follow Christianity?

I do have Warlords, but still thinking if I have time for another SG or not.

I would, but have to see if some of my other SG games finishes up before this starts.

:gripe: What's this?!? What happened to the Not-So-Chaos JOE-04?!?

lurker's comment: I'm pretty sure that just giving yourself Theology via WB will not found Christianity. Which could make it interesting, in that you must capture the Christian Holy city in true crusader fashion.

Edit: Just played around with this a little in WB. I don't have Warlords, but I would guess it would work about the same. Giving myself Theology did not found Christianity. But, after my first city was founded, I could go into WB and edit the city to make it the Christian Holy city, thus founding the religion. HTH

lurker's comment:
Are you going to restrict building of the Sistine Chapel?

Actually, looking at Conroe's comments, you don't have to give yourself Theology, just make your first city the Christian Holy City.

Thanks for the head's up regarding making a city the Christian Holy City...I've edited the first post to reflect this.

JOE-04 Not So Chaos was overshadowed by Chaos 2 & 3 and not alot of interest was really there, so I decided to kill it...hence this one being JOE-04 - "Resurrection".

Want in? Stop lurking and join! That goes to all of you...grrrr....

:p sorry, the sig is hardcoded and my collector's edition of Civ4 goes on eBay soon ... so I will only be lurking.

No more CTIV's???

     :( :nono: :twitch:

You'll have to wait until Civ 4 Complete comes out. On the plus side, think of how many ideas I'll have in the interim :mischief:

Hmmm... I'll have to see how long you'll hold out. I'm putting my money on exactly 2 months;).

There's a reason I'm eBaying the game.

Also, I should point out the series won't be called CTIV when I get back. It'll probably be CT4C*. So look for CT4C-01: Venice** in Moonlight in fall/winter 2007.

*Subject to change.
**You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one.

Venice in Moonlight? :mischief: I can't wait to see that variant!

lurker's comment:
Team plays as Venice. Opponents are Hatty, Cathy, Liz, Izzy, Joan, and Boudiccea (spelling?). Variant rule: PA to a Space Race Victory.

Poor JOE, I keep [offtopic] his thread. I'll stop now.

No interest in this game? :(

I think you need a bit more patience. Most of the SG players (including me) still haven't got Warlords. Give it some time.

:agree: ... maybe you should do it as a non-Warlords game first and then follow it up with a Warlords version?
