I apologise in advance for not having the save available to back up my case.

I was playing yesterday as the Koreans and was sitting back and enjoying my peaceful nation while watching China wage its successful war against India.

The next turn, Mao visits me and asks if I would like to help him out. Since we are on "Friendly" terms with one another, I click "agreed".

SUDDENLY, I hear the trumpets and I get informed that Mao has declared war on ME! It seems that on the same turn Asoka had capitulated to Mao BEFORE MAO CAME TO VISIT ME!!

Why would Mao even ask me to fight Asoka in the first place?

It seems there is a problem regarding the timing of events in Warlords. Has anyone else experienced any of these strange occurences?

Either timing or a very smart AI. And yeah, alot of people have experienced it, although I never seem to.

Ah. Bad luck. I kinda had the same thing. As Russia, I almost took France. But they became the vassals of China along with India and the ottomans (most of the Middle East). Soon I had a major war trying to fend off the majority of Asia. I still conquered the Ottomans and tore up the Indo-China army but, wow. It was really hard.

I've had this too with war alliances, you get someone to help an ememy civ, the war goes well and you beat down your enemy, next thing your former ally has accepted capitulation from the almost dead civ and now your at war with him. There could at least be a discussion on accepting peace with the new vassal.

The AI usually asks you to join in a war the turn before they declare peace, then they leave you to fight to the War alone!! so i never accept to go to war unless its the start of the war.
