LuckNES: Cradle to the Grave

Sack of Mergon
Year 98

As the armies of Silat poured over the River Mergon into the taking over the “Holy Land” the royal family evacuated….

Piaf stared over the city walls as the few remaining spearmen desperately held against the agile Silat soldiers scaling the walls. A never ending stream continued to pour over the walls despite the resistance put against them. It soon became obvious the walls could not hold and Piaf sent a dispatch to The One to begin evacuations. The One immediately got the Barson and 200 crusaders to bring the book to safety in the high mountains. As the enemy slowly closed the circle around the building site of the House of Taig the King and the royal personage alone with thousands of citizens and what remained of the army fled into the mountains.

Somewhere in the Nearby Mountains
Year 99

After more of a year of guerrilla movements and fighting in the narrow passes of the mountains south of Mergon the crusaders made a stand at Taig pass as it soon became called. The crusaders would shout “FOR TAIG” at the top of their lungs before charging at the lightly armored yet agile Silat soldiers. Hundreds died fighting in the name and for their god in those narrow mountain passes. The One would be constantly bless soldiers before they charge into the fray and gave his men much inspiration. It was thought why would Taig let the The One survive if there was not a purpose for him surviving? This gave the soldiers much confidence that Taig was just testing their willpower and if they continued to fight they would soon be home.

Lord Piaf’s Speech
Year 100

We have been fighting for two years now for many reasons god, glory and just to return home. Our enemies are strong and determined but they are not fighting for their homeland. They are fighting for some King’s greed in Silat who has no intention but tearing down all our hard work in Mergon and bringing back the bricks and wealth to help build some new summer place. You will not let him tear your homes down and desecrate your religious institutions. Now we must find toleration with our new found allies to the east for if we are ever to reclaim our homelands we must tolerate others beliefs and spread the message of Taig peacefully. We have looked at spreading our faith all wrong in that people must accept the faith of Taig by opening their eyes not through fear. This is why our Taig has punished us for ignorance and sinning and that is why we must set things right and rebuild the purity of Taig.

On to Victory!!! Let Taig have Mercy on us!!!

The next few years would decide the fate of Taig in the cradle as many men laid down their lives for what they believed in. For their families, for all the ones who were killed without reason, to overthrow a mad man, to avenge the death of the missionaries, to bring peace to the Holy Land.

Boris is assasinated! King Langdon Holck in power!

Today, King Langdon Holck was proclaimed king at the inaugurational party. Boris was assasinated yesterday after a cruel and violent death. Twelve conspiritors killed Boris. Apparently, all the conspiritors attacked the Royal Palace at 10 PM yesterday. The Royal Guard was busy guarding the Palace, when a fire broke out in Bartson's Square just outside. One conspiritor had set fire to a wagon to distract the guards. The gards began to put out the fire, when four conspiritors killed 3 Royal Guards. The Royal Guard chased after them, leaving the Palace Gardens unguarded. The other 8 conspiritors set a fire in Boris's bedroom, only to find he was somewhere else in the Palace. Boris was getting a snack. However, the cook, another conspiritor, put poison into his meal. He was eating it when the other conspiritors found him. They stabbed him with swords and knives. Then, hit him with a blunt axe. Suddenly, the poison kicked in the same time he was slashed on the head. His body was paraded around the streets today. Only the military mourned his loss. One of the most ironic things is that Langdon was Boris's aide and supporter. Apparently, Langdon killed the real heir as he was escaping, therefore making Langdon the heir. :crazyeye:

Yea probally. Either way Update will come tonight. With or Without orders. Quality will lack though.

EDIT: Iggy please rename your UU cause Cradilon already has Crusader.

Oh, sorry. That's what I get for not checking his stats...

Make my UU the 'Templars'...

Why Templars?

*****

In the high mountains of the Tensiri religion's homeland, there is a great mountain towering above all others. On it is magnificent spired temple carved into the rocks, wrapping around the peak. One seeing it literally sees the crude cuts of nature fading to the clean lines of human engineering as he rises his eyes. A meeting of the grand works of nature, and the precise acts of man. No one remembers who built it, it is said that the temple was placed there by the first humans and god.

From the snowy top flows a creek, cascading through an atrium within the temple, near the peak of the mountain.

The peak is a nexus of elements. The earth meets the sky, the everburning flame melts the ice to water, all celebrate existence together.

There, there is all. At the peak, there is God.

The Temple is the home to a most holy order of monks. The Templars. They were the discoverers of Tensiri, and Prophet Ijail was the first of the Templars.

The Templars are masters of their faith, and also masters of combat and weaponry. They will do anything to spread the holy will of god and the knowledge of Tensiri throughout the world, and anything to defend the holies of holy temples.

Update 2: Edjumacated Tactics
Years: 100-200

So once again, I am unfortunately bringing you an update, on our little world. Which seems to have brought tons of trouble down upon it’s infantile self. Holy Wars, Barbarian Wars, just plan wars. Its suffering all around, on this edition of LuckNES. Oh and if you do not know what Edjumacated means, then you need to get an edjumacation ;).

We begin in the valley of tri-religion. The valley where the worlds first major wars have taken place. The Valley where Tensiri, Cradilon and Silat all reside. After the first parts of the war. The triple invasion thing that happened. Silat’s army would have to redirect to fight the Tensiri fanatics. But first they decided if somehow the Cradilon peoples returned to fight that they might get back their lands, and with their lands they get the city of Mergon. So before the troops depart, to both fronts as it is. They burn the city of Mergon to the ground. Pillaging it in the process. As the Martial Fighters of Silat leave the city, they split into two groups. Two separate armies. One of 1,300 troops heads to fight the Cradilon resistance in the mountains and the other 3,000 move across the river to fight the Tensiri.

Starting first with Cradilons last hope in the mountains, they try building new terrace farms but it fails due to soil. As the martial fighter approach, they setup ambushes with what remains defending their peoples. Some of these ambushes work killing a few dozen martial fighters here and there. But as they come in at force the highly trained and agile Martial fighters just evade most ambush attempts and kill the trap layers. All Cradilon civilians to lay traps and barricades made of tree and stone. Eventually the Silatian armies capture one of three mountains that the Cradilons have held. But the others are to well defended for an attack at this time, and with the highly trained Crusaders making everyday runs against the Martial Fighters, Cradilon will live to fight another day..

As Mountain warfare is taking place, Cradilons main army heads north around behind the mountains on the edge of their valley. They push through gaining support from tribes in the areas with what remains of the treasury, this is also to keep the tribes from speaking and to keep this operation secret.. They come back around the main offensive of Silat and into the undefended lands across a river branch from there homelands. The smoke from the city still lingers in the valley, giving it an eerie look and a dark appearance. As the Crusaders and Archers which form the brunt of this army reaches the valley floor. They easily reclaim lands. Pushing ever East to Pencak. It isn’t long before they meet up with Silat’s armies who are fighting the Tensiri. Still in secrecy they go around behind them and try to get into Pencak. But its is useless as the civilians saw it coming. And some of the Silatian troops turns to fight them back. Nothing is harder to conquer than a defended city. This is where things begin to get interesting. As word of payments from Cradilon spread through the valley tribes, and also word that anything you capture you keep. The barbarians tribes from the valleys mountain sides come down in force on the Silatian army as it fights Tensiri and Cradilon. But it isn’t the end of Silat.

The barbarians are defeated after their initial push but still hold lands as a seemingly endless supply of tribesmen come pouring out of the mountainsides. With this the Silatian army is divided more. Parts fighting here and there just trying to stay organized is difficult with multiple fronts on the same battlefield.

One the Tensiri front the Silatians are winning. Or so they think. As the new Templar soldiers of Tensiri are retreating back into the mountains. It is all part of their plan. As the Silatian army is split further, they still follow eagerly into the mountains. Where awaiting ambushes completely destroy the army. And when this does happen the Templar charge back out to take the valley back from where they were pushed out previously.

With the Silatian army separated and in some areas decimated, it shouldn’t be long before they fall. Or will they? DUM DUM DUM!

(Cradilon. - Rural Economy, - 400 Crusaders, -500 Archers/ Silat - 2,100 Martial Fighters/ Tensiri -300 Templar, -100 Spearmen)

We now move on to the Konarai Tribe who have been conquering and pillaging and raping and just over all mean and nasty things. Nothing to new here. But their borders are ever closing near Ricin’s borders. And if they do a war is sure to break out.
(+1 Rural Economy,-200 Raiding Militia, - 200 Spearmen)

Hoggonogr, is doing quite well for itself, expanding and increasing its military to the extreme, well not really. But it has increased its size a lot. Borders now clash with Ricin which could be the undoing of one of them. Border clashes began but ended early in the expansion. They are now in uneasy peace. But for how long?
(+1 Rural Economy,-400 Spearmen)

Ricin does what it usually does. Expands violently.
