Hello,

I'm just trying to find out about my new civ 4. I had played civ II a long long time ago and for a very long time. I hope I will enjoy this as much as I had enjoyed my old Civ II.

been reading the forum for a month or 2
before I would barely make it on Noble level and now I just won my first Monarch
So, big thanks to the strategy posts and, of course, the discussions on GOTM.

I just started playing Civilization 4, SID MEIER and the people at FIRAXIS Games
got me hooked:eek: on Alpha Centauri & Alien Crossfire :D , won't work on Windows 2000:cry: i just found Civilization4 and loving it, I was looking around for stuff for the game and finally found a place with really good CIV4 mods :) :)
 
My previously downloaded Cev. Conquests disappeared from my computer. When attempting to reload the disk at 22% I get a message and it is

error: Data error ( cyclic redunduncy check )

Any suggestions??

Most likely it's due to bad CD...
Have you tried cleaning the CD and the CD-ROM drive?
 
hi ive just found civ 3 and learnt the basics of editing it although im definantly a noob and will probably sully the game in doing so. this game is gret im not worthy.
 
Hi All,

I recently got Civ IV from my wife on our wedding day and haven't really stopped playing since (except for the honeymoon). I've been playing Civ since the first version appeared on the Amiga. In all honesty, I'll probably just lurk quite a lot, although I may get the modding bug at some point.
 
Spent many, many a night on CivIII but put it down eventually, and managed to get some sleep and do some work during the day.
I had some Virgin vouchers just about to expire recently, so went in and got CivIV. Now I'm on about 4 hours sleep a night and 6 to 8 coffees a day.
I'm 42 and have 2 kids.
 
hi i'm love civ 3 and i was looking for cheats for this game. Now i'm hook on it. If anyone knows anything about cheat let me know i have version 1.29f
 
Hi. I'm a longtime player and fan of the series. I've always checked the forums for ideas and answers and thought I might finally join in the conversation. I'm especially grateful to Thunderfall and Colonel Kraken for their good advice. O.K., opening shot: Is bad spelling mandatory or did you all just go to Public School?
 
Hi to all, I am a long player since 1988... ( I am in the electronoc data business since 1966) . I love Civ I and all it's grand children . I love freeciv too. I have learnt a lot from it.
Now i have big problems with civ IV. my AMD 64 3000 with radeon 9200SE has lot of problems with it. And it is NOT possible to make the graphic options lower without clicking over the options menu. and this menu is not working .... I have to hack or to wait for a biger machine. Yes, I had a long view on the FIX LIST thread, but nothing helped...( only the patch 1,52 I have never installed , because I have seen it first time after the install of 1.61.... I do not want to deinstall Civ iV and reinstall all again.... I hope in the future...
 
Well after years of telling myself "Civ is a load of **** why would anyone wanna play that" i decided to get the game last year.
All i'm gonna say is DAMN have i been missing out. Got Warlords a few weeks ago (i know a bit late).
My socal life and relationship is taking a right beating lol.
Anyway look forward to posting.
