Show what Techs the AI can Research

A bug was just reported at the HOF discussion about the domestic foreign advisor in the HOF mod. Apparently, the 'can research' techs that are shown for the AIs are wrong. I tried to start a generalized discussion on what techs should be shown on this screen (here) with the upshot that a thread about the HOF mod is not the correct location for such a discussion. Fair enough ... lets have it here.

My take is that the only information that you can use to deduce what the AI can research is that what you learn from the diplo screen, what you already know and what you can research yourself. So, to me, that would mean that I ask the system what the AI can research and remove any tech that I don't know or that I cannot research myself.

This thread is currently aiming at discussing 'what techs should be shown' - not 'how do we show those techs'. So, without going into the code - what do you think we should show with regards to what the AI can research.

You might want to show all techs the AI currently does not have on the basis that the AI can research them, but maybe not right now

I'm sorry, but either I'm too tired at 3:30 am, or this post is taken too much out of context for me to get more than a vague impression of what you're getting at. :(

I use the foreign advisor to figure out which tech an AI can research. I don't see how the domestic advisor is meant to figure in there, since it only shows my cities and no AI information at all. I also have no idea what "long if statement" you're talking about. I don't know the HOF mod, so maybe that's what's keeping me from understanding your post.
