This map covers the Italian peninsula, the Balkan peninsula, parts of the Alps, western part of Turkey, western part of the Black Sea, and parts of Central Europe.

Overall, it covers the following (today's) countries:

Italy, Greece, Albania, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Serbia, Montenegro, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Romania, Hungary, Moldova, Slovakia (small parts of it), Turkey (small parts of it), Ukraine (small parts of it), Austria (small parts of it), and a really small part of Switzerland.

But I'd better let the picture speak for themselves. :D Here's a really zoomed out view of the whole map:

If you want, I can show you even the minimap: :D

BIG preview: Click here for a full view of the map. It's huge, has about 5 Mb. If you click this, make sure you view it at 100% so you can see it for real.

The map is huge, so you better limit the ability to build cities. ;) It's 140x188, and most important, it's a land map, so it has much less ocean than any randomly generated map.

Thank you for even viewing this thread. Hopefully someone else will also find a use to this map. Please let me know what you think about it. I love feedback. :)

Note: The rivers are NOT complete on this map. I kept the rivers from varwnos' original map, but didn't complete Danube all the way through Hungary and Austria, so no rivers outside the Balkans (and those might be considered sketches). The map doesn't have any preplaced resource either. Not only did I not have time to do this right now, but in my opinion resources should be balanced according to the purpose of the scenario creator. :)

varwnos - biggest thanks go to him. His Byzantine Empire map was what this map was built on. The coastlines and islands in Greece, as well as the Asian part of Turkey, are fully made by him. The rest was added or changed by me. But without your map, this one probably wouldn't be here either. Also many thanks for the feedback.

Nice one!

Just a quick question, though, will you at any time be placing the rivers?
Yes. I'm actually going to do something special with the Danube, so I'll post 2 different river versions. :D

Great work, Mirc :D
Thanks! :thanx:

Also: Shouldnt Sardinia be partly in this map as well? (you could easily include it) :)
Yes, I should make it too. But I think it wouldn't fit entirely (I'll check on a real map to see this)

BTW, sorry for answering so late, I was out of my city.

Hey guys, can anyone help me? I wanted to work on the rivers earlier today but I realized I have NO good map.... I have a lot of physical maps, but on one there are no rivers, on one there is only the Danube in this area, one is for the whole Europe thus I have only Danube and Dniester, and the other one is both physical and politic, so each region is marked with red and the rivers aren't visible....

Does anyone have a map/link with the rivers of south-eastern Europe or southern central Europe?

I think that i included all notable rivers in Greece, but was not very interested in those outside of it (i did not have maps) so the rest of the rivers are not well-done :)

 My problem is that without a map, I won't get any other rivers (outside Greece) except the Danube, which I can make from my memory. :)

Thanks a lot. :)

But just yesterday, I found Edit: No, I actually MADE (:D) this:

It doesn't have the rivers in Greece, Romania and Sweden, but I don't have Sweden on this map, I might find regional maps for that. :) And I already have the rivers in Greece and Turkey from varwnos' map.

So at least I have the rivers in Italy. :) But I'll look better for some other maps. I know I can find some. BTW your map is too much north. Poland is not on this map. Thanks anyway.

I just followed the trend. ;) Some people switched today. Those who switch today will keep their avvies for one week. ;)

BTW - can you recognize me? :mischief: Who am I?

It's FredLC. He was a mod not long ago. ;) Some people say he is the most intelligent poster ever to register on CFC. I was really lucky he wasn't taken when I signed up. Just read some of his debate posts - you stand no chance against him.

But let's not go off-topic.

Here's a map of Bulgaria:

http://bulgaria-map.info/maps/Bulgaria-Encarta.gif

It's way too detailed for your purposes though. I suggest you limit the rivers to:
Iskar - through Sofia - from Rila to Danube
Yantra - through Veliko Turnovo - to Danube
Kamchia - south of Varna - to Black Sea
Maritsa - through Plovdiv
Strandzha - through Yambol
Struma - through Blagoevgrad

You already have Struma and Maritsa or Strandzha (somewhat mixed - Strandzha joins Maritza in Turkey), though not very accurate. Danube is shifted a bit to the south as well.

Actually, you may like this map better since the rivers are easier to see:

I completed most of the rivers. I only need to add the main rivers in Serbia and Bulgaria (though Maritsa is already on the map, made by Varwnos).

Here's a view of the north-east (Romania, Moldova, Hungary, Ukraine), and you can see a bit of Bulgaria and Serbia that don't yet have too many rivers. :( Click Here, but remember it's a very large picture.

Does anyone know where I could find a map of the main rivers in Serbia? For Bulgaria, agnickolov's maps are very nice, unfortunately being unlabelled I can't really decide which ones to include. But I think I can handle Bulgaria, Serbia is my problem currently. :)
