Internal Affairs

OK team, I need some help with this one ...
What should we do?

  1. Kiss the city goodbye and save the Warrior for exploration/fogbusting?
  2. Hope for a lucky RNG roll that will save the city?
BTW, this was the city that was going to net us our Caravel for an attempt at the circumnav bonus. :gripe:
At this stage, what else can you do? Destroy the city or hunkerdown. I say, take the chance on the roll. Two turns will add to the defense bonus somewhat. Good luck!!!
Go Bears

I agree with my dad. GO BEARS!!!!!

I think we take the chance of covering the city. Replacing the warrior won't take long. The city is a bigger hit and I'm willing to risk the warrior to try and keep it.

Try and defend. Who knows?? It will probaby be razed at size 1.

I agree with my dad. GO BEARS!!!!!
Ouch!!! Those nasty colts stomped our hapless Bears. Oh well ... wait'l next year ... and thanks Dad for agreeing with me.

What do people think about getting permission from Epsilon to send a galley thru their city to the eastern sea for exploration purposes, instead of having to wait for our city to be built yet again and build its own galley.

Since we're in bed with them... I don't see any reason for them to deny it.... but I guess they could.

To knock the dust off this thread, Whomp (or was it Conroe?) recommended settling horses next. I vote yes to this endeavor.

Horses next.

:agree: . . . .

Ok, we want some horses? Where do we want to build the Settler? The fastest is Hamburger, but it is our only troop capable city at the moment. The closest is TC, which is 3 turns away from growth and a forge. Then another 7 turns for the Settler.

What about HE? Do we want to build it before we start troops? Hamburger makes the most sense, but then it will polute our GE pool in that city. Likewise, the HE would polute our GM pool in Balderdash.

What about civics choices? We are going to be swapping into HR pretty soon. Do we also want to switch to Pacifism, as well? Or maybe Theocracy?

TC would be fine with me for settler build. I'd keep Hamburger building troops. HE is something that I'm not sure about and civics always confound me :(

Get the settler done with TC, and if we are concerned with HE polluting our GP pool, we can designate it to a town that will have decent production but good for nothing else.

I spoke with Killercane earlier today and told him that I would post a screenshot of the land around our horses:

He also asked for screenshots of all of our cities. Will have to use 2 posts since there is a 5 attachment limit.

The last 2 cities. We have 7 total cities.

The last picture is the land around the barb city of Zapotec.

We are going to complete Printing Press next turn. At that time, I would like to do a civics swap. Before all of this war talk, the plan was to convert to HR and Pacifism. HR is still going to happen, but I'm not sure Pacifism is still the right move. How about some discussion?

We can change any 2 civics for the price of a 1 turn revolt.

HR & Theocracy would be my votes... HR for :) and Theo for experience

Theo and HR if we are going to war. I had thought pacifism might hide our intentions but no real way to do that if we are going to get Mil Trad.

Hamburger with HE will be able to produce a cat every turn or a galley/turn with another mined plains hill right? Is that where our mil production is coming from?

What is upgrade cost for galleys to galleons? I think we are on Epic speed so it is 60 hammers(galley)-> 96 hammers for a galleon, and 128 gold for upgrading em. We also cant produce a galley/turn at Hamburger at 60 hammers (it can do 50 with HE).

I think our attack on Aloha is a ways away. For building I would recomend Organized Religion (after all, you don't want DISorganized religion, trust me).

I too believe that war with Aloha (or anyone else) is not immenient. Mainly because we have decided to use Cavalry and we don't have horses hooked up.

But, I really don't think OR is the way to go. OR would have been real nice 30 to 40 turns ago. I really do believe our choices are Pacifism or Theocracy. If we were a spiritual civ, I'd probably go with Pacifism. As we're not, I'm leaning towards Theocracy.

I would argue that it seems that we are not gearing for war however. Libraries, forges, and granaries are being built. With the tech deal w/ Epsilon, I would argue that we do not need the library as necessarily as we did earlier as our path is set.
For the longest time, Hamburger was our only city with its infrastruture in place. Treacle Cottage has just completed its infrastructure and started on the Settler for the horse city.

Balderdash is building a Library, yes. It just seems to me to a be waste of bureaucracy for our capital to not have a Library. The lib will be complete in something like 4 more turns (don't recall).

Brilliant has a whopping 1 hammer. A bit useless for producing troops, so it is working on a GS. After the GS, it can probably be whipped. All of the other cities are either size 1 or size 2. Until the grow, they really aren't productive to us.

So, leave the builds in place or immediately switch to building troops? I'm fine with whatever the team decides ...
