Hi guys!

This is my first attempt at a mod component, so all the more it's a simple one. My inspiration is Elhoim's excellent Better Ship Scale. I've tweaked that a little bit and decided to tweak the scales for all units, land, air and sea. In addition, the interface scales have also been modified, so that they aren't really tiny or over big in your unit interface screen.

For land units, I felt that should be some semblance of size difference between units. All foot units have been adjusted to be much smaller, mounted and siege units are tweaked slightly, and armoured units are much larger. A Spearman attacking a Modern Armor really looks like a poor sap attacking an M1 now! All foot units are now more or less the same height. Even the animals have been adjusted. The Bear for example, does look like it will eat your Scout for lunch! And the wolf is as it should be compared to a foot unit - a supersized dog.

For air units, Fighters are smaller, Bombers are bigger. For sea units, the tweaks are very slight, it was more for the interface scale.

Please note that this XML is for Warlords, and one version includes the amendments for Mobile Artillery and SAM Mobile. In case this XML screws up your mod (and it likely will if yours has any new units), I suggest you make the amendments manually. The plain XML included here works with plain Warlords, but I don't guarantee it.

Here's a peek selected units:

Enjoy! Bug reports and feedback welcome!

Is it possible to make this one stay on the game when you load other mods as well?

Hi zooropa86

Will it work for vanilla? Short answer: It should! Long answer: It's a change of just how units appear in game and in the unit interface. It doesn't screw up anything else - I hope. The reason I say this is because Civ4 is so complex. As the units appear in Warlords as they do in vanilla, this would work just as well. If you have a text editor, try making the changes manually for one unit first.

Hi cFccFc
Yes it is. Look for the file under Civ4/Warlords/Assets/XML/Art. Copy the file into a backup directory. Replace that file with mine. It should then work fine regardless of whether you play a new game, an existing game, or a future mod. The file is a "base" file that isn't affected by mods. Mods with new units will have their own file which is accessed after. I however suspect that saved mod games may look a bit off. Mod games you start now may also look a bit off as the mod units would not be affected by the change in scale - you'll have to do that manually. So the new units from your mods would look a bit like giants compared to the regular units.

Good luck guys! And thanks for your interest.
