User of the year: You vote for other users, the one with the most votes is CFC user of the year. (Sorry, moderators and admins don't have more votes.) If there's a tie, those who voted for the non-tied users vote for the tied users. If its still tied, the moderators and administrator vote. (Same amount of votes) If its STILL a tie, they are both users of the year. NOTE: You cannot vote for yourself.
Pervert: Active in babe threads. :p

Well these can be awarded by other members, dont expect mod approval

Perhaps something you could have in a sig?

It is funny and i really think that the underlining motives of people exclaiming-"elitism"-is because they are afraid to feel inept and unwanted if they are not chosen to be the best in whatever category the public have voted for.

I was simply stating a fact. It is not nessecary to troll on about it.

It just smells of Elitism. Plus there is already to edit the title so long as you meet the time and post requirements.

We used to have elitism what with only allowing certain titles for number of posts and from what i remember different avatars but i could be wrong on the second count.

We still have that, BCLG. :D

Chieftain (Minimum Posts: 0)
Warlord (Minimum Posts: 100)
Prince (Minimum Posts: 300)
King (Minimum Posts: 600)
Emperor (Minimum Posts: 1000)
Deity (Minimum Posts: 2000)

I was really happy when I became an "Emperor", and then a "Deity".

The proposed awards often have nothing to do with the Off Topic, and thus fail. The OT is just as much a part of the forum as NESes, storytelling, Democracy games, et al.

By the way, the anti-elitism movement is utterly stupid. Elitism exists and will exist for as long as there is a difference between active and inactive posters - it's a critical part of any forum. The difference is whether or not you allow it to alienate others.

The things that have been done to "remove" elitism from the forum have only crippled the potential for what the forum may be.

Elitism rules!

Yeah, but 2000 posts is diddly squat. The should scale it back up so it actually means something.

I can't belive you haven't mentioned mafia!
Mafia is lame (but forum games awards could be done too)

Not for or against the idea, but such award titles exist on many fora without any problem

Is this shorthand for "Elitism is against the rules!"?
Starting personal threads is against the rules in the spirit of controlling it. Elitism is not against the rules any moreso than inflation is banned in a country - it's inevitable in a forum as long as there is a difference in the number of posts and activity between one and another. Some people will be more infamous than others, and people will form cliques. It's the human nature of a community.

I'd prefer something akin to the Apolyton Hall of Fame, rather than the awards presented. But banning this just because it "promotes elitism" only prevents a possible good feature from being added. I don't see how something like this would alienate posters.
