[BtS Modular] Parthia civ

Frahangestan model is the Etruscan Temple created by Asioasioasio.
As always thanks to the EB team for allowing us to mod EBCIV with their guidance. Thanks to WYZ_sub10 for creating this wonderful flag, every time he just goes 1 better!:goodjob: Thanks to Shqype for testing this and providing valuable information. I hope everyone one enjoys playing this civ, during testing I found it was really fun to play.:D Happy Downloading, and as always all comments welcome.

UPDATE: Now for BtS with modular capabilities.
To run any of my modular files, you need to go into your BtS config file (My Docs/My Games/Beyond the Sword/Civ4Config.ini IIRC), and change
ModularLoading = 0
to
ModularLoading = 1
then install the file into your Beyond the Sword mods directory. The file is set up to run immediately so you dont need to create any folders. Then start up your game, go to advanced, then load a mod and select your mod. And it should work.

Looking good! That UU just looks great. Each one gets better and better! And it's fairly unique, too. :goodjob:

Thanks everyone! :goodjob: Yea this civ is definitely the most "beautiful" of all the civs I have created. And one of the most fun to play.:D I'm still partial to the Thracians however, I just love those guys.:lol: But keep an eye out for the other EBCIV factions being released soon. pay-t and ElGrillo are hard at work on three new factions, each are looking great! Expect the Ptolamaioi (by pay-t) and the Sauromatae (by ElGrillo) soon. Unfortunately the Sweboz faction being worked on by pay-t is on hold until the...... heated discussion.... on the EB Developer forums has been resolved as that will give us a full city list for them. Otherwise they are completed.:goodjob:

@Shqype:
As you know from your testing that UU looks spectacular in game on the Campaign map. The reason why is the .dds files are 512x512. Huge I know, but totally worth it! I don't think I can ever trump this guy because of it.:lol:

Another great addition to EBCIV, Aranor. Keep them coming.:clap:
P.s. Like the Arsaces LH.:thumbsup:

There must have been a lightening strike in my head or something because I agree Arsaces is great, the best I've ever done by far. (my next one comes close if I can get a good beard to work.) Anyway I'm glad everyone likes! :goodjob:

The Leader's got the same traits as Churchill, also i have one question, who were the Parthians? It is still very cool though. :clap:

Yep I'm aware that he has the same traits as Churchill. I try to always have different traits for my leaders, but sometimes they end up the same as each other. Not much I could do:( especially since I was trying to avoid the aggressive trait, and the Parthians were known for having excellent archers, both mounted and foot, hense the Protective trait. The Charismatic trait because as I didn't want to use the Aggressive trait, even if it was probably little more suited, I felt that some form of military bonus should apply especially since Arsaces I did basically found the Parthian kingdom by going to war with the Seleucids.

As for who the Parthians were. The best was to learn would be to download the civ and read the civilopedia entry!:lol: But a short version is the Parthians were once a nomadic steppe tribe ( or group of tribes) from the Caspian sea area in the former Persian Empire. They came into being after the destruction of the Persian empire by Alexander and his subsequent death, followed by the rise of the successor kingdoms (The principle one they encountered was the Seleukid empire, however they did have dealings with the Indo-Greek kingdoms such as Baktria). In later history they became the opposition to the Roman Empire in the East, curtailing Roman expansion further east. They met their decline at the hands of another Persian dynasty, the Sassanids (sp?). Hope that helped. Enjoy! :goodjob:

Cool, thanks. :goodjob:

just two quick questions -

who's the guy on your avatar?

and... i see that the unit you have replaces the War Elephant... i consider that an understandable and interesting choice... weren't the parthians also famous for using horse archers? and owning the ROmans with them?

Wait and see!:lol:

And you are correct the Parthians were a nomadic people, much like the Sarmatians further west, who were famous for their cavalry, in particular horse archers. Actually they were famous for their archery skills period, their main type of foot soldier was an archers, and by all accounts they were an impressive force.

They were known for their battles against the Romans too, in particular the battle at Carrhae. Where the Parthians utterly thumped the Roman legions.

p.s the guy in my avatar is an early Alpha of Viriathus (Viriato) the Lusitani leader who led the Iberian rebellion against the Romans. He will be the leader in my upcoming release of the Lusitani faction for EBCIV.

I have a question, it seems I can only load up a mod civ (your Makedonia) while I'm actually playing them, if I load anything else it goes. I just noticed one of your screen shots, the list of leaders on the right hand side shows a few mod civ leaders, how do you make them perminent?

I will release Ionut's civilizations 3.13 in a month or so (I plan to have it out by May 22nd if not I'm gonna be pissed!) That will include every civ released until now, and some civs I have not released as of yet. For you to get the true feeling of the Pahlava I would recommend you wait to play then in IC. They had a bit of a face lift recently and look a whole lot better!

Why are the Parthians called Pahlavi in the mod? Was that what they called themselves or something?
