LINESII- Into the Darkness- Part III

Update 28- Years 1800 to 1840: Omens

Yathai continues to expand its holdings on the great island to their southwest. Plans are being drawn up for great ships which may someday traverse the boundless seas surrounding the archipelago, like the great Viski Lasi did centuries ago.

Syracia’s ongoing troubles with Ida’an’i’i are beginning to alleviate. Kind treatment and shipments of supplies for the civilians have swayed many to their side. Word is beginning to spread to the other islands, and the dominance of the Pirate Kingdoms may be growing threatened.
(-2 Separahs)

Kelios, with some help from Syracia, continued its desparate fight against the Tsayan and Divotheist invaders. However, the enemy’s numbers continued to grow.

A slight sigh of relief was breathed when Klishin returned home to Tir Tairngire, to pay respects to and succeed his late father. However, the Chancosanx army was further reinforced, and continued to press onwards. Brutal back and forth fighting in the Vale of Kelios raged- Kelios superior military technology was closely matched by Chancosanx’ great size advantage (though the Knives and Plows militia of Kelios provided a large meat shield which helped even the scales furtheer).

Kelios received its big break, however, when the Tsayan force helping the invaders in the siege of the city of Kelios suddenly betrayed the Divotheists. They smashed apart thousands of troops before being halted, then thrown back out of the Vale. At the same time as this battle, Kelios sent its forces to help further damage the Chancosanx and Tuatha armies. While surviving fairly intact, a retreat was forced, and the siege of Kelios was lifted briefly, while forces were redistributed from fighting Kelios to fighting Tsaya.

However, the numerical advantage of the Divotheists’ professional army continued to be their trump card. A call for volunteers went up in the homeland, and more militia joined the holy war against Kelios. A renewed assault fell upon the vale and the lands around it, and Kelios once again fell back. Worse, Justok Nictuma’s army was becoming increasingly adept at dealing with Kelios’ cavalry.

After nearly a year of starvation, the second siege of Kelios was successful, and the city fell into Divotheist hands. The Chancosanx advance then began a proper eastward drive, though it was running out of energy. Its forces were depleted, supply lines were growing difficult, and the home economy was suffering from maintaining an army in enemy territory. The advance made it nearly to Mard, before stalling in the face of enemy cavalry in even terrain. Aldis is besieged, but even better-supplied and defended than Kelios was. Meanwhile, a group of Tsayans different from those fighting the Divotheists launched ‘attacks of liberation’ into eastern Kelios from the north. So far, these have had little serious effect, as most of the Tsayans in Kelios are assimilated, and the forces involved have been negligible in number compared to those on the western front.

At sea, there has been, surprisingly, no fighting. Chancosanx has been cautious, only performing scouting operations, and Kelios is firmly in a defensive stance.

Tir Tairngire is working to spread Divotheism to the occupied regions of Kelios, to minor effect.

Rumours claim that the rift between Tsayan factions has already ignited into warfare between the northern tribes.

It is clear that all forces involved need peace, but whether an acceptable treaty can be hammered out remains to be seen.

Zamdar continues to flourish. Exploration to the north has revealed an arid, rugged land, free for the taking. Several rivers have also recently flooded to navigability, allowing irrigation and sustainable settlement of the north. This land still has much more to offer, being almost totally unsettled and unexploited.

Increased trade with Terrania, particularly Khemri, has brought great wealth to the city of Adar.
(+Adar Economic Center)

Two thousand Zamdar soldiers have moved into the Pirian Oneist region north of Tir Tairngire, to bring it into the nation. However, the locals didn’t want anything to do with this, and resisted. Zamdar, not wishing to start a needless war, has ceased its advance, maintaining control of only those who wish to join their nation.

Some missionary activity has taken place in Tir Tairngire, though the fact that Baneism seems to speak primarily of the ascendance of a different nation to rule the world, it has had little effect.

Tir Tairngire, while enjoying military success against Kelios, has experienced serious troubles with, surprise surprise, the Pirian Oneists. While a large part of the army was fighting in Kelios, Ardan landed a force of several thousand at Shae da Dale. The heir of Chief Connall commanded a force of a thousand Pirian Tuatha alongside the invaders.

A small defensive force of Chief Klishin was destroyed at the Battle of Shae da Dale, and the invaders rapidly approached Murias. A large defensive militia was called up, and the advance ground to a halt just short of the capital.

While the war remains stagnant, many are beginning to talk of an end to the internecine warfare. Perhaps Tir Tairngire can support both faiths, Pirian Oneism and Divotheism, living together. Perhaps there could be two states. The doorway for negotiations is present, should either side be brave enough to open it.
(-1000 Davian Swordsmen, -500 Spearmen, -1000 Tuatha Spearmen, -1000 Tuatha Swordsmen)

Ardan has sent a small force to reassert its control over Orum, but the force is not large enough to stop the powerful Orumo rebellion movement. However, it has prevented complete secession, at least for the moment.

A much larger force was sent to deal with the Bladeist Tellusian Peresofo. While its residents swore that they had no violent intentions, Ardan invaded anyway. The settlers put up a surprisingly strong resistance, but there’s only so much one can do against overwhelming numbers- the defenders were crushed and their lands occupied. Then, the Swade settlers of Peresofo were given a terrible choice: Convert to Oneism, or be banished from Azulia and sent to Otaria.

The group split up roughly evenly. But while one part is now in Otaria, and the other is living under a new faith, both still carry the dream of Peresofo close to their hearts.

Malereficar, suffering from decades of poor leadership, has back into the various nomadic tribes which it was born from. Centuries from now, the frozen ruins of Shagh’Seb-Eyl and the Anesh the Servitor’s Temple will become a great curiosity and subject of confusion to anthropologists.
(-Malereficar)

The traditionalist northern lands of Gamorrea, growing ever more disgusted with the ‘bastard faith’ of Gorrahnism, have rebelled against the southern government, resulting in some losses in the early battle against the rebels and the defection of many units from the Gamorrean Cavalry.
(-500 Takil-Gorrahn (KIA), -2500 Horse Archers, -500 Axemen (Defected))

The possibility of peace in the Fairhelt war has dissolved, as Gamorrea and the Iron Faces continued their advances. While Gamorrea made a small advance then stopped, the Iron Faces continued their movement into Fairhelt. King Arok II desperately began conscription, but the discontent peoples of his empire refused, and broke away. Throughout the periphery of the empire, lands fell away, leaving only the center of the former nation under Arok’s control.

Surprisingly, this made things more difficult for the Iron Faces. The defenders of these new microstates were much more willing to give their lives for their new independence than they were for an inept and distant ruler. Strong defenses and attrition (the Iron Face manpower being very limited, even with the new Merhai troops) eventually forced the Iron Faces to halt the advance and focus on building up their new nation, the Iron Face Republic.

Croyodon continues to develop and swell. Its population is on the rise, and its territory is growing rapidly in the north. However, it is, despite its government’s best efforts, becoming overextended. An efficient system of roads to hold the nation together and make its unwieldy representative government more functional is dearly needed.

Croyodon’s new Elect, Praticon (a former general) has set his nation in a firmly anti-Lengel stance, though he has not acted on this yet. He has also set out to take all of the remaining empty lands in the north.

Khemri, finally free of war with the Valins, has put its considerable and advanced navy to work. Several voyages of exploration have been sent into both the Kaosian and Exodian seas. Distant pieces of land have been found in both seas, though attempts to set up trading posts failed due to the colossal distances involved.

However, two small trading posts have been successfully founded near the far-southern lands of Destre and Envia.

The White Marble city of Veritas has been rebuilt to much of its former splendour by Khemri. Pilgrimage to the city is beginning to pick up, and some day it may once again be a great religious center. But for now, it remains a small city in the ruins of something that was once much greater.

King Dysonis II was a particularly active king, but he nonetheless carried all of the burdens of the dynasties before him. And seeing Oneist rebels take lands in the vassal-state of Kalmar once again broke the last thread of the long-suffering patience of Khemri. Convinced that the vassal system would not work, he decided to take over Kalmar’s previous job and annex the rebellious areas outright.

The Knight, protégée of the late Void, led the campaign. Commanding a typically massive Khemri force, he smashed into Kerania. Servei Karseyn, leader of Kerania, had put together a formidable defense, which held out for some time. Khemri’s light cavalry and infantry failed to break through the Duality Pass, but The Knight’s forces broke the standoff on the Kalmar/Keran border and besieged the capital of Keranopolis.

Quickly, Khemri smashed away resistance, even taking out the Duality pass from the East. With only the capital remaining, Karseyn felt the last hope of victory fade away. It would not be he who would at long last liberate the Kerans. Not desiring to see the death of further countrymen, he parleyed with the Knight and surrendered himself, in exchange for amnesty for his people. The remainder of his command structure swore to never again raise arms against Khemri.
(-Kerania, -500 Khemri Horse Archers, -5000 Militia, -2000 Royal Guards, -500 Kalmar Axemen)

Following victory in Kerania, The Knight moved his combined force into Hugion territory in the uplands of Davar. While the Hugions put up a spirited guerilla defense, attempting to wear down the invaders and prey on their supply lines, The Knight simply commanded too many troops to be resisted. Their newly-built capital city of Hugi, named after the cultural hero rebel who started the independence movement, was captured.

However, this was by no means the ends of the Hugions. Baron Faldin, their de facto leader, led his people north, into lands of the Citadel. This realm was now completely empty, with only a few holdouts remaining. With the arrival of the Hugions, these last Citadelers metaphorically handed over the keys, and left to parts unknown.

Baron Faldin quickly established control over all regions of the former Citadel of Knowledge. While all of the valuables and artifacts were gone, all of the structures and lands remained. Once all of the lands were secured, the Hugions began to settle down. Faldin announced the foundation of the Barony of the Hugions (though most simply refer to the nation as Hugion), to the great joy of his people.

The Knight, not completely sure if the lands to his north were considered to be of the Citadel or not, halted his advance in order to wait for orders from the King.

However, he would never receive any further orders from Dysonis II- for while his best general was away, a coup was thrown.

The various nobility figures were growing fearful of Dysonis’ centralization of the government. They were very unwilling to give up the power given to them, unwilling enough to force some to violence.

The King was stabbed by assasins hired by several lords while at his winter palace in Kehexou. Soon afterwards, the rest of his immediate relatives disappeared.

The Prince of Kehexou and closest remaining relative of Dysonis, Erias, was crowned King of Khemri. Erias was a rather weak man, and essentially a puppet of the men who had orchestrated Dysonis’ assassination. Already under his reign, more power has been vested into the lower tiers of government.

It remains up to The Knight if he will accept the new rulers, or throw the nation into civil war to restore a true monarch.

Gorin has begun a massive ‘flood into the north’, encouraging huge amounts of immigration into occupied Lengel lands. Huge infrastructure projects have enabled easy transportation to the north for all.

The Great Libraries of Masra have been completed, strengthening the hold of the religion on the country, and its neighbours. However, the nation’s numerous cracks are growing, despite huge efforts by the Gorinese government to hold them back. Orthodox Crystalism is experiencing a small resurgence, the Nkondi continue to desire their independence, the moderate and increasingly-educated middle class is growing angry at the increasing strength of the Kaiser and Masra Church (denouncing the Kaiser as a Theocrat, holding the Rowanthi’Orti powerless) and the mysterious explosions going off in Gorin’s cities continue unabated.

Basu Oborski IX put almost all of his efforts into holding the country together. He has definitely helped to slow them down, but as of late Gorin is requiring continuous lines of adept leaders to hold it together.

One misstep he has made, however, was moving to end the ‘Emoran situation’ in southeastern Gorin. Thousands of Imperial Gorinese forces descended on the Emoran settlements in ‘Operation Rebel Kill’. While being consistent taxpayers, the Emorans acted like autonomous states within Gorin. There was barely any chance to resist, though the the city of Ciruca managed to put up a brief defense.
(-500 Gorinese Mooseys)

The leaders of the Emoran settlements were declared to be rebels, and were executed after brief trials, which were essentially for show. Outraged, the citizens of Ciruca (where the trials took place) rioted, and were attacked by the Gorinese army. The riot-control got out of hand, and by the end of the day thousands of Emorans were dead, and Ciruca had been pillaged and horrendously damaged.

Frightened into submission, the residents of the second Emoran city (Nova Emora) did not resist as Gorin asserted its control over the region. This control was exemplified by gross misunderstanding of the region’s situation. Order was ‘Restored from a chaotic rebellion’, though the only chaos had been caused by the military and the reacting civilians. Then, the entire area was reorganized, lands were redistributed to ‘jumpstart the economy and gain the people’s trust’. This merely caused confusion, more simmering fury, and the plundering of several rich Emorans’ vaults.

Many of the former residents of the Emoran settlements have fled to Khemri (primarily in Delhi, and the lands north of it), Croyodon, and even Myocaca, spreading tales of Gorinese ‘atrocities’. Others remain in the surviving settlement of Nova Emora, fuming against their oppressors.

The Kaiser is in a very difficult situation now. Pro-government groups and hardline Masra followers support the action, but the moderates are disgusted. Various minority groups throughout the country are on edge, fearing that what happened to the Gerbers, Lengels and Emorans may happen to them next…

Zuoharra is continuing to walk its own path. To strengthen its military, Zuoharra has adopted the flail used by Khemri’s Crystal Knights to be used by its infantry. Additionally, the Academy of Achievements has been completed. In the near future, it shall polish countless skilled minds for Zuoharra.

The Myocacan city of Jarade, its lumber resources now in heavy demand, has developed into an economic center.
(+Jarade Economic Center)

Efforts to get more profits out of the port of Krenel, however, have been less successful. Pirate activity in the area is on the rise, resulting in the reluctance of traders to stop in such an area.

The construction of the beautiful city of Sunescia is complete. Countless visitors travel to the place each year, to marvel at this pinnacle of Myocacan artistry. Others visit to celebrate the victory of Sunez over the Swades, a turning point in Myocacan history.

Attempts to domesticate the wild bears and other large animals of the Cultesian Jungles have failed.

In order to end the Valin blockade of Sintonia, Myocaca began to build a fleet. But problems began immediately. Acts of sabotage took place against the partly-constructed ships, and a suspected enemy operative was captured and executed. However, the real problem occurred just before the ships set out. In the dark of night, several explosions went off near the harbour, caused by caches of Guangfei fireworks. In the confusion, several Bladeremes were inexplicably cut loose. Others were torched.

The Myocacans quickly regrouped and set out in pursuit and recaptured several ships with their damaged fleet. However, most managed to escape. Interrogation of the captured hijackers revealed that they were of mixed ethnicity, and that they were working for a larger fleet. Further questioning and torture revealed that they served a group called ‘The Black Hand’, though little more of use could be discovered.
(-15 Myocacan Bladeremes)

With the marriage of King Cheng Ji VI to a Guangfei princess, Buguan has become a part of Guangfei. Emperor Zhang is the new Divine Leader of Guangfei. His main actions have been to isolate the interior of the country from outside disturbances- and then to lead his forces to war…

Tactius, son of the previous Oceanus and Stratikrator, has enforced the Second Autoregium over the Valin Republics of Veritas. Developing a brilliant, if somewhat incomprehensible, mind early in life, Tactius quickly realized that absolute authority was necessary if Veritas was to survive this time of strife and troubles.

Keeping the Bladeists in New Veritas docile through a variety of threats, Tactius set out to deal a blow to the heart of his enemies.

With most of the Valin army, Tactius set sail northwards, to Myocaca. At the coast, he encountered the Myocacan fleet. Outnumbered, the Myocacans were once again destroyed at sea, the tattered remnants of the fleet fleeing.

At the same time, a colossal army from Guangfei smashed into Myocaca. First to fall was Aryie, to an army led by Emperor Zhang himself. The Aryiens were happy to surrender to Guangfei’s terms- essentially a return to the status quo in exchange for a right of passage to Myocaca.

The High Priest was reinstated, and Zhang’s force moved on.

Previously, Myocaca had been unwilling to focus on any one point, being unsure of what its opponents would do. Thus, it had troops on all of its southern borders. However, the invading force of Guangfei was simply too massive to be dealt with.

From Beiguan (formerly Ozkir), Zhang Gun (that’s his title) Du Fang led a force northwards towards the holy city of Swade. His force was halted, but it proved its worth as a distraction from other fronts.

From Buguan, Zhang Gun Pei Yu raced to join Emperor Zhang’s force in Aryie. However, due to that nation’s particularly rapid fall, he redirected his forces to Trenta. The Emperor’s forces reached the outside of the city and demanded its surrender. The defenders refused, and the city was besieged. It fell after a few days. Pei Yu’s force merged with the Zhang’s force, and the two continued their advance northwards, that was only halted just short of the capital by large-scale Myocacan mobilization.

It was when the fight with Guangfei was underway that Tactius’ army landed in Myocaca. Taking the city of Venustas (previously the Valin colony of Sempronia), Tactius brashly proclaimed that it would never fall into enemy hands again. Myocaca, eager to disprove the upstart, attacked it with a large force- and succeeded disturbingly easily. For Tactius’ force was nowhere to be found. It was only then that Myocacan scouts reported that a huge enemy fleet was headed for Sanctus Tutela.

Peripheral forces were immediately recalled, but they would not arrive in time. King Thranwuir II personally took command of his capital’s defense. The forces holding off the Guangfei forces in the west were recalled to the city, arriving just in time for the battle.

The invaders moved into the estuary of the Blade River, and began to bombard the harbour. The defenders fought back with flaming arrows. The Valins were shocked to discover that their Phoenix Archers were no longer the premier ranged soldiers in the world- this title now belonged to the Myocacan Yu-Yans, who could fire their flaming arsenal an even greater range.

Brutal fire was exchanged between both sides, in the form of both burning pitch arrows and various flaming liquids. But inexplicably, the Valins did not attempt a landing- Tactius was waiting for something.

His delay paid off. From the West, Emperor Zhang and Pei Yu’s forces, tens of thousands strong, arrived, having swept away the reduced garrison on the far side of the Blade River. His troops were ferried across the river, and the battle proper began.

What would unfold would be an unparalleled battle. The massive numbers of Guangfei, the military genius of Tactius’ Valins, and the desperate yet utterly loyal Myocacan defenders of Sanctus Tutela- and each force was commanded by their nation’s highest leader. The Battle of Sanctus Tutela- Better known as the Battle of Three Emperors (or other varied terms for leaders) would forever define the futures of the nations involved.

The first charge of Guangfei and Veritas was beaten off by the stalwart Myocacans, and many invaders were killed by defensive traps. Attempting to drive away the enemy’s fleet, several burning ships were sent into the tight formation, dealing heavy damage (though costing Myocaca the last remnants of its fleet). With this, the largest Pentaremes in the Valin navy rammed into the piers. From them came the second wave of Valin attackers, while Guangfei’s forces continued to arrive at a painfully slow rate from the far side of the river.

Overwhelmed, the Myocacans fell back from the docks to the city. Their entrenched defenders managed to deal disproportionate casualties to the invaders, though Tactius managed to minimize this by methodically smoking hidden archers and defenders out of buildings before advancing.

With the docks secured, the rate of arrival of new enemies into the city became greater and greater. Slowly but surely, the Myocacans were driven out of their own city.

Seeing the desperation of the situation, King Thranwuir II ordered most of the militia and the rest of the royal family out of the city. In the Citadel of Sanctus Tutela, around the Palace of Blades he and his best forces prepared to make their stand.

The invaders were knocked back by several Ramid and miscellaneous cavalry charges. Myocacan Yu-Yans and ordinary Longbowmen held away the enemy forces, but their arrows were, ultimately, limited. Emperor Zhang then brought out his deadly new siege weapons. Ballistae, with primitive explosive payloads, and highly inaccurate (though powerful) rockets were used to assault the fortress. However, the mighty structure held out.

Tactius, massively frustrated with the situation, finally developed a plan. Using mobile heavy wooden defenses, he allowed his forces to move forward very slowly, until they were at the bases of the walls. Eventually building up a whole tunnel of these portable defenses, he then ordered the construction of ladders, under protective awnings. At the same time, a covered ram was place in front of the gates. Several sorties by Myocaca attempted to destroy the ram, but it was well-enough defended to make such a plan near-impossible.

Slowly but surely, Tactius broke into the fortress, very much like the roots of a tree, slowly but surely breaking apart the mighty obstacle before it. The gates were broken, and the forces of Guangfei and Veritas broke in. During the chaos of battle, the ladders also successfully scaled the walls. In all directions, the Citadel fell under attack. Huge casualties were incurred on both sides.

At the end of the long battle, Thranwuir was captured, severely injured, and brought before Tactius. It is unknown whether this was to gloat, or some other purpose, but the results are now famous. Thranwuir prophesized that Tactius would die for his violence- then attempted to fulfill his words by pulling a broken sword from his scabbard and hacking Tactius in the right arm, cutting halfway through the elbow. Thranwuir died a second later.

Myocaca is in dire straits, but its invaders are also in a difficult situation. The force from Venustas has arrived and is prepared to defend the surrounding area. Guangfei’s forces have suffered high casualties, and the supply lines through largely-uninhabited land are extremely difficult to maintain. Meanwhile, Tactius is still recovering from his terrible injury, and his forces are greatly reduced.

Meanwhile, the Valins maintain an extremely tenuous hold on New Veritas. The Sintonians are not allowed to support the Myocacans (if they do, the captive Sintonians will all be killed), but Myocaca’s remaining forces in New Veritas have ‘stolen’ enough food from the Sintonians to survive.

Unimpressed the Valins killed nearly a thousand captured rebels as an example.

While Veritas rules the cities and Myocaca controls large areas of country, barbarians from the White Mountains are beginning to raid into the wartorn lands, causing Myocaca significant troubles.
(-1000 Myocacan Bigjaur Riders, -2000 Cavalry, -1000 Yu-Yan Archers, -500 Longbowmen, -500 Knights of Divine Enlightement, -5 Ramids, -2 Ballistae, +38 000 Militia (net), -2 EP for next turn, -500 Guangfei Spearmen, -2000 Swordsmen, -500 Axemen, -200 Imperial Guardsmen, -500 Crossbowmen, -1000 Ma Gun, -1000 Ma Bing, -30 000 Recruits, -500 Valin Regian Guards, -1000 Phoenix Archers, -2000 Scimitari, -500 Autorian Knights, -Use of Tactius Right Arm Below the Elbow)

Rajkutra continues its rapid expansion in all directions. It has reached the White/Dadong Mountains, and is actually indirectly responsible for the flood of barbarians into New Veritas. Several tribes have been absorbed by war, others by peace and diplomacy.

Throughout its region, the faith of Tinuraj is spreading like wildfire. It has gained significant footholds in Rozan, Fwiglo, and even Guangfei and Veritas.

Fwiglo has founded a second city, Fyodo, and continues to expand, albeit at a slow rate due to the poor lands around it.

Gerougia and Guarela continue to quietly exist in peace. Gerougia has begun to explore its roots along with a few curious Citadelers.

The Priory of Envia has begun large-scale expansion into the areas around it. Contact has been made with Gerougia and Guarela to the north. Scouts have also discovered the Khemri trading post, and are unsure of how to react to it. Attempts to domesticate local animals for riding have failed, though the animals do provide a good food source.

Magland continued to fight against rebels, and Rozan in the War of Trinlinist Succession. However, Emperor Odan was growing more and more brutal in his methods of dealing with rebels. His popularity was rapidly dropping, due to the military successes of his enemies and his frequent levying of civilians.

A massive force of levees was sent into the Trinlinese heartlands. A joint Trinlin/Rozan force led by General Rayner lost some ground to it, but held such losses to a minimum. General Kaisimir of Rozan moved in to aid Rayner’s forces, and at the Battle of Wiviter, most of the Mag force was smashed by the smaller but much more skilled Rozanians, with help from some Trinlinist barbarians. Kaisimir then set out straight towards Magon, while Rayner continued moving upriver to spread the rebellion.

While Magland’s forces were occupied fighting in the northeast, General Milosz, the third and final Rozanian General involved in the war, also set out towards Magon.

Milosz and Kaisimir met up outside the Mag capital, and attacked the city. Emperor Odan, apparently driven insane by his massive successes turning into abject failures, ordered a suicidal assault out of the city. Many of his soldiers refused, knowing it would be better to defend. They were killed for ‘disloyalty’ (most managed to escape), then Odan led his last assault. He and a few hundred loyal soldiers charged several thousand Rozanian swordsmen. Odan cut down many enemies, but was eventually killed, his body left mutilated on the battlefield.

After the demise of Odan, and the subsequent dissolution of his empire, a new fact became clear. Destre had actually been attacking Magland from the west, using surprise attacks and advanced weaponry. Rayner discovered this when he found out that Rozan occupied the coast, and the other generals found out during a mop-up campaign, when they ran into a large force of Destrians in the south.

While the Mag homelands remain rife with rebellion, Trinlin has reasserted itself throughout most of its lands. Rozan maintains troops in the area, as does Destre, but it is clear that the war is now over. However, whether or not the war will resume over territorial division remains to be seen.

Rozan is now working to unite the various tribes between it and Trinlin, with considerable success. The primary reason that they didn’t join him before was simply a lack of easy communication through the wild lands.

Great empires go through troubled times, new powers ascend, some seek lost glory. Discoveries are made, yet great things are lost. Times are changing, as a bright comet blazes through the sky in the year 1850 PD. In the lands of Emor, a strange ailment which has festered in there for years is beginning to spread…

Notes:

You have to pay 1 EP to build a city.

Emu, what’s the name of that city north of the mountains that isn’t Wulfstad? Is it Haven?

I added a few rivers in Azulia, north of the Sky Range. I had intended to put them in before you discovered them, but forgot due to my recent lack of time.

This is retconned to: The climate in the area was unusually dry, and snowfall was light, so the rivers were much smaller until recently, when the snowfall has increased, resulting in a larger amount of flow.

~Darkening~, I really liked your orders. Mind if I post them to show people what I like in orders?

Grombar, you can still carry on the Peresofo movement if you’d like. PM me and possibly the other people involved (Swissempire and ~Darkening~) if you’re interested.

Really? i thought they were actually pretty horrible. Feel free to post them if you wish, but I assure everyone that they're incrediably sucky.

Pilgrimage to the city is beginning to pick up, and some day it may once again be a great religious center.

I'm not sure who's doing the pilgramages, but around half of the oneist pop (Pirians in general) hold no value in the ruins of Veritas. Basically, it is believed that due to the numerous time the city was sacked, and all the bladiests that had lived upon it, the island is corrupted and is no longer looked greatly upon.

Sorry, but there will be no bladiest nations near me so long as I can help it. Swiss pretty much fcked that up for the lot with his little program, so in return, I will habrour no guilt for my actions.

I am upset you took that direction with Magland Iggy. I don't remember ordering anything the people would hate. They were fighting for their new richer country.

Nice Update Iggy!

Well I will see the map in the morning. I am glad my biggest problem is not enough roads :).

His Majesty would like to congratulate his southern neighbors on defeating the Mags under their vile "Emperor" Odan. He would be willing, if it is deemed appropriate, to aid his southern neighbors in achieving borders that will prove to be beneficial for all involved.

Iggy, that was pushing your best update yet! Also, I get to add another to the "Imperial Capitals Sacked by Veritas" list. I really like what you did with Tactius, actually...it'll really fit with his personality.

Your king is dead, and your armies are defeated. We request an immediate cease-fire to discuss cessation of hostilities and peace terms.

@Thlayli- Yeah, I wasn't sure whether I should let him be somewhat arrogant or not. But a person with a mind like his tends to be, in my experience. I'm glad you liked it.

How typical of my life!
One ally turns on me.
Then another turns on my friend and starts attacking her at the same time her other neighbor attack her and she gets revolts.
Let's not forget over expansion.
Yuck.
I can't wait until I start having revolts, too!
Anyways,

Please cease your aid of the Kelosians. You need not throw your men at us. We wish peace with you.

To Kelios
Should I discuss peace with you, or destruction of the city of Kelios with my Generals?

Nice update, Iggy!

I really should have sent orders. I could have sworn you went S-N, so I thought it was too late.

intresting Iggy; you've given me a bad king :p

well I can use that for stories; although I think the Knight is going to die, of old age.

On that note; the take over of the citidal above me is as far as I see it a legitamate move; and I offer my protection of the proto-state.

Well first I need to finish up reading the rest of the update secondly darkening has made his mind known and lastly Swiss has been MIA from what I can see for awhile so im not sure what thats about.

OOC: I guess that from time to time i'll post something here from Tigot to try and get it up and running in he day I could start writing for it again :p

to Gorin:
From New Tigot:

We wish to form a royal marriage between our two kingdoms. The daughter of the ancient Tigotian monarchy is in an age where she could marry a husband worthy of her. I find no one more worthy than a member of the Goriness royal family who gave us freedom about a thousand years of occupation. Would Gorin accept this offer?
