The interface art and dialog design for the new random events features look amateurish and rushed. I would like to see these things improved, if only to keep a consistently high-quality visual experience throughout the game.

  • The (!) marker that appears to indicate the location of a random event is badly pixelated and is a pretty boring design to begin with. It does not fit in with the other markers of this type (culture expansion, resource markers, etc.).
  • The quest log doesn't seem to scroll properly. I had to expand the dialog horizontally to view all the text because it wouldn't let me scroll down far enough to view it all.
  • It's easy to miss the notice when you fail a quest, and it then vanishes from your quest log. There should be a list of failed quests along with a short description of why you failed.
  • The text in the quest pop-ups is laid out poorly, work on the indents and margins.

This may seem like minor stuff, but the poor attention to detail is glaring when compared with the high polish of the rest of the game.

The scrolling of the quest log is because the box scrolls per quest rather than per line (just like on the other tabs, where it scrolls per entry, rather than per line). I have noted this in the bug reports. The 'failed quests' would be a good enhancement.
