OK here is the surprise tha I mentioned in other thread. I know right know only one Improvment (I would upload also Mine but i don't like especially the textury - probably i would need to revise it) but slowly (and hopefully) this thread will be seeing more improvments

Condenser

This was used as "fertalizer" of sorounding fields in SMAC. Probably you can also use this as parking lot ;). The drawings shows the screenshot from SMAC, concept drawing i've made and final effect in civ4. Model around 360 triangles, 256x256 texture and 128x128 texture for shadow.

Energy Resources [Morganite]
Did anyone watch TV Show 'Earth 2' - there was 2 episodes about bright yellow mineral (Morganite - name comes from one of the character who discover it and thought he would make fortune on this resources) - it was source of energy. Combined with human brain it could broke any algorithms - it worked like powerfull computer - 100 of milions operations plus human brain selectivness. Earth 2 is my favoured SF TV Show and those two episodes was one of my favoured - Morgan (what a coincidence ;)) putted GeoLock on minerals, but he made angry native lifeforms - some of the Terrans were turned into stone by GeoLock and whatsmore this yellow stone appeared to be brain of planet :) and GeoLock turned it off.

The model is two bright crystals with glow resemble the energy resources from SMAC. It's nothing more than heavly modified in nifskope and nifviewer uranium - so link animations to uranium.kfm The glow is delicatly pulsating.

It was mine in SMAC - model is freely based, but people who played that game will recognize the model :)
OK here's model based on old good SMAC.
Around 250 triangles, animated (use modern_mine animations).

Maybe this energy resource needs to be scaled down a little bit. It's really impressive as a preview. I guess many mods will find a use for this one ( fantasy ) and Planetfall will shine even more. By the way, your skills are astonishing.

Yup for fantasymods it would work also fine - if anyone would like to modify it to other color (you know different colours of mana) i give you hint:

0. open model in .nifskope
1. 2. Click on the glow (Editable Poly@#2)
3. Double click on the arrow
4. Select on the list UraniumGlow (with symbol of palette)
5. Edit colors (Trials and Errors work the best in this case)
6. For full effect edit uranium.dds and uraniumglow.dds

It works well both with this energy bonus and with orginal uranium
 
Now if only you did SMAC minerals -and nutrients the planetfall terrain will look done. :goodjob:
 
hey asio,

check out this version of the energy resource and tell me what you think. i added that glow that you liked and used your texture. that glow wasnt originated by me, but rather C.Roland, but he doesn't seem to use it much and i have modded it heavily in the past.

well, i havent tested this resource yet, as i don't feel like modding the xml right now, so maybe you could test it :D

asioasioasio, I cannot get the graphics correct by referencing the kfm to your files in the xml; instead I use the default uranium kfm and it works fine... almost:

The resource graphics disappear entirely when the plot receives the improvement supposed to "harvest" the resource. For example, if I set energy resources to require a mine, the graphics disappear whenever I place a mine in the resource plot. If I place a farm or some other improvement that has no effect on the resource, the resource does not disappear. (Alternatively, if I set energy resources to require a farm, whenever I place a farm and the resource in the same plot, the resource graphics disappear.)

How to fix this?

The resource is beautiful and its such a shame that it disappears when its being put to use ;)

Edit: I think I found a solution:

Firstly, the "Energy_Resources.nif" in the download does not correspond with the "Uranium.kfm".

Fix: Rename Energy_Resources.nif to Uranium.nif

Secondly, the "uranium_md_worked.kf" file seems to cause the main part of the model to disappear (I tested on earlier versions and its not the whole model that disappears) when the resource gets the correct improvement.

Fix: Make a copy of uranium_md_normal.kf and rename the copy uranium_md_worked.kf

I got it working correctly on my system, and if the described solution does not work, I can try upload my working version.
