fcNES: Gods and Despots

I just realized that the Mayans are only slightly richer than dirt. Is will leaving my economy alone result in economic growth up to two points if I do that for two turns?

Well...that's +2 growth in first turn of leaving everything alone (if you include not skipping industry) so Wealth stat will go up to 3 (0/2). Another turn (if you don't include industry again) would let it go up to 4 (1/3). Two turns of completely leaving everything will get your wealth up by 3.

i pm'd the stats again (altered my name though)

Can i send orders even if i'm my stats are not posted and im not on the map?

Wait, how does not using my industry stimulate wealth? Wouldn't using all of my industrial capacity encourage wealth creation?

It provides a lot of work, it keeps people employed... think Roosevelt's New Deal. If capacity goes unused, people end up without employment, and turn to crime/poverty.

Well, industry in this system represents your country's "pool" of labor/industry. You take some, you deprive people of the capacity of providing themselves surplus (think, you commission cobblers to make boots for your troops instead of having them make shoes for selling) which they can sell around.

Nothing's in a depression, so there's nothing to stimulate. Fair enough?

So if I didn't spend anything on industry, then my economy would go up faster? In that case, I may change my spending orders.

Just the wealth part of the economy will go up. You have to put wealth into industry growth or conquer more lands or do something creative and feasible and logical if you want your industry to go up.

Okay, so if I don't spend any industry points, my wealth goes up more than if I do spend industry points. How much more?

One point five.
Spoiler bold (for a reasons readability and emphasis) and colorful explanation :
Well, it's all explained in the rules...but, I will restate here. You have 3 industry, therefore using none leaves 3 (value what's left is 3). From what's left, half the industry stat (which amounts to 1.5) will be subtracted.

This all amounts to 1.5 (positive one point five). This will be the amount added to your wealth growth (in your case, 0/1 for now).

Your wealth growth will become (1.5/1). Since it went over 1 (the wealth growth cost), your wealth stat goes up by 1 to 2.

The wealth growth that was in excess (the 0.5 in 1.5) will be retained, leading to (0.5/1). The new wealth growth cost is equal to the wealth stat minus 1 (this rule for wealth growth cost is not followed by those those with a wealth stat of 1, in which case the cost is always 1).

In addition to the value calculated from industry, the wealth growth also goes up by adding to it a value calculate from wealth, which follows the same formula as the other value's (replace half of industry stat with half of wealth stat and what's left of industry stat with what's left of wealth stat).

In summary: By spending none of your industry, your wealth growth will go up by 1.5 (not counting whatever values will be calculated from your wealth spending).

Hopefully this colorful explanation will get more people to understand the very simple calculations I use here. It's easier done than said, honestly.

Well, then i want to change orders :s

I didn't get the industry thing. Does industry increase self by half and wealth by half oder was?

Orders sent. Story coming.

History of the D’mt People
Part I

King Sembrouthes, sometimes referred to the first king of D’mt. The gruesome man who enslaved thousands and killed more. During his reign the first uniform Kingdom of the peoples of D’mt was formed. Solidly controlling the direct peoples within the tribes along the sea. King Sembrouthes formed a large army in his aging years and began to go mad with power. Conquering all those around him with an aggressive policy towards other tribes and other people. All were inferior to him in his mind. Various artifacts of his reign have been found including copper coins with crude symbols believed to be his name along with pottery painted with soldiers also believed to be of his conquests. Historians are unsure of his exact birth date or death date but are certain he existed and was not a myth even though many stories later in history showed him as a godlike entity. Such as the following found on a clay tablet near the red sea.

“On a golden throne, carried by the slaves of a thousand tribes, rode the king of all men. In his right hand was a whip and in his left is a gold, jewel encrusted, sword. Upon his head is a crown of skulls and on his back the furs of the fiercest beasts. Incapable of defeat and fear for no other man nor creature. The king of all.”

Little is known of the people living under his rule besides the horrible lifestyles they had to live. Worked to exhaustion with no breaks and fear of death every waking moment. The only way to escape death or slavery was to fight in the armies at his command. Many did choose this over the later. Giving him one of the largest armies at the time. He used this army against the tribes to his north.

Romeulus is 126 too... they are twins. I envision that they seperated when they are 25 years old and founded their respective citys 2000 B.C. when they are 126 years old... they are almost mythacal, so they get to live for a long time. Not until 1000 B.C. will the mythmakers leave... this nes is about the fear of gods, REmember?

I am thinking about 196 years-150-137-120-97-115-107-93-89-103... until about 1250 B.C when they settle on about 70 years.

Romulus I is long since dead, this is his grandson. Romulus II. But I did not use Roman numerals becuase Romulus's father was not named Romulus.

But becuase they are both kings perhaps I should have used Roman numerals, my apologies.

The age talks are interesting, but I bet so is sending in orders. ;) I say, just put 1-2 leaders per turn and be happy, unless you want short-lived kings and such (genealogy stories are fun, too). The Roman numerals aren't that important -- if it's unfeasible that the same person is still alive then just think him a different person.

I didn't get the industry thing. Does industry increase self by half and wealth by half oder was?
I'd answer if I understood the question. If you really don't get my economic system, just remember never to spend more than half either of your economic stats unless you have good (economy-improving, territory-expanding, etc) reason for doing it.
