Peeps, just land on Arrakis after I enter the cave. kulade will not be finished before I am, and I will not be easy to defeat. I have plans :evil:

ot: Good luck CG! :goodjob:

By the way, I was considering contributing to the story but wanted to with some actual knowledge of what was going on at this point. Can somebody tell me?

Let's see:
  • I'm with CivGeneral, who's on another planet facing off against kulade who holds Thunderfall hostage;
  • My chief advisor is currently running the Eastern Union (think 'good' Soviet Union) although he has to put up with my rebellious old avatars;
  • I'm not quite sure what Stylesrj or choxorn are doing;
  • lord_joakim and mythmonster2 are about to explore a mysterious hole on Arrakis;
  • Kan' Sharuminar is holding this consulate hostage;
  • e350tb, alongside the Eastern Union resistance just defeated Napoleon and is deciding how to divvy up Europe;
  • I forget where taillesskangaru is at, although according to him the moderators were under siege in Sydney, Australia;
And that's all I remember without going through the thead again.

I tried time travelling and I ended up in a thing called Timeless Space. Nothing much for me. Someone should take advantage of my inactivity in DYOS... I mean, now's your time to "save" the thread

Would it be better for me to join somebody else's storyline or start my own?

I'm busy trying to get info from an odd guy.

Actually, I have a storyline idea.

Neverwonagame3, attacked by his short lived persona (Neverwonagame), checks out the phenomena and hears of the Avatar attacks. He then figures that if Avatars can come to life, he can keep making them and build an army. They attacked their owners out of anger for neglect- perhaps he could use them?

They become an offensive force, rather than direct antagonists. Kinda like the Second Napoleonic War? Interesting idea...

As long as it doesn't violate the rules, go for it. In fact, if you're looking for a target to vent your rage, the Eastern Union has a lot of exposed landmass. ;)

What happened in the Second Napoleonic War?

Napoleon and a bunch of Civ4 leaderheads embarked on global conquest. Pretty much WWII except the Germans were stooges of the French. Turning point came in the Eastern Front, the Free West rallied, and Napoleon died after running into a minefield. The current DYOS leaves off with control of Europe being divided between the victors (Eastern Union and Britain) in a Cold War-esque motif. For reconstruction purposes, I swear!

Actually, I've changed my mind about entering this for the moment.

Can someone please post a comic? I would, but I posted the last one.

I'll do as soon as I have time/inspiration.
Not today, my gf is coming over.

But soon perhaps.

CivGeneral's recent comic conveniently places all the remaining antagonists together. I still have a focal plot device up my sleeve. My question is: shall we move to conclude the Avatar Wars story arc?

Not immediately, for sure; I've been itching to hand-draw the concluding strip since post #530, and that'll take some time. With CG's setup, we can probably fit an epic fight in, too. :groucho:

Why not, Thorvald? Also, lord joakim, if you can't post a comic can you just PM me what's in the cave so I can make the comic?

I'm to wondering the same thing. Since we could just pop out more posts till the thread hits the 1000 mark and start up a new DYOS.

I was hoping we could challenge DYOS 5's longevity. Depending on how this chapter ends, I have a new 'quest' that'll flow fairly fluently from the aftermath.

That I am hoping as well, though the mods tend to close threads that once hits the 1000 post mark. Though that depends if a Mod takes a peek in these parts of the forums.
