Over past couple of days I've made a comprehensive list of ALL NESes which have taken place over the years. What I'd like to do is flesh out the details. Not only can this be used for Thlayli's history idea, but for the wiki as well. I've already begin part of this project, as posted on the history thread.

When you see the format below you may think: "Damn, that's crazy talk" You'd be right. THis is no where near a one man project, especially considering the sheer amount of NESes. However, it would do good to record this, just in case we could use them later on. Also, there's some good ideas from back in the days which moderators now may want to resurrect for future NES efforts.

If you wish to help, please state the NESes you'll be looking at on the thread before you get started, that way we don't have people working on the same NESes at the same time. When finished, please post on this thread. I'll take all posts and combined them into a finished work arranged in chronological order. I'll hopefully keep the lists updated with who is doing what, that way we can avoid confusion.

Now, I'm not asking for single people to do everything, we all can throw in our efforts here for the collective good of the NES prole.... forum. Please read the format below and pick out a NES and let's get this underway!

Title of the NES: Name posted in its entirety on the forum.
Moderator: Who created and ran the NES
Dates of Operation: From when to when did this NES run? Be careful, this does not include the posts that happen a week after it died with people saying “has this NES died?”
Link: Link to the first page of the thread
Upate Count: Number of updates in the NES.
NES Main Thread Post Count: The number of posts on the main NES thread.
Attached Threads: A list of all attached threads to the NES. These include conferences, United Nations, and even Olympics in some cases. This also includes preview threads. With each attached thread include the amount of posts.
Total Post Count: This is the total number of posts including the main thread and all attached threads.
Genre: Classify as one of the following: Fantasy, Fresh-Start, Historical, Alternate History, Science Fiction, Other (state type of NES)
Rule Summary: A brief summary of the style of rules used.
NES Summary: What happened to the NES? Did it fail on arrival, or did it have a long, prosperous history. If it was a long NES, try to include some of the big plot points and topics of discussion among the players. These can be things from World Wars to anything else of note.

There we go, all lists (Briefly interrupted

) are complete. However, some early NESes are not included, I have already finished those early NESes and they are included with the big project sheet. These are in some cases partially completed and I will finish them entirely before moving on to the lists. Let's get started shall we?

I'd just like to mention that I fully support this, it will be an excellent resource, and I'll definitely rely on it to find primary sources for the history.

I really cannot see any benefit in looking through all the players in every nes.. is it not best to record who was active by the end? (so its nice and simple look at latest stats)

Also, it seems really daft to summarise something you were not involved in... it would be much easier for someone to summerize what they were in (and can remember) rather than someone having to read through several thousand threads!

Well, one of my ideas was to be able to provide accurate player stats for all players in the wiki. That way we could actually know who played who and when. Yeah, it's time consuming, but as I've said multiple times, it's one heck of a project.

@Abbadon: Aye, that would be best. But he volunteered to do that one. I'm not forcing anyone to give a hand. The summaries aren't for the people making them, but for the NESing community as a whole.

Rule Summary: The rules of Lords of Sicily were the thing that made the NES special. The focus was on provincial management as well as diplomacy between the NESers as it was necessary for them to rule the nation they all shared - an NPC king lead the nation, doing horrible decisions all the time.
NES Summary: The mod ended the NES because his girlfriend required attention. The players stated that they enjoyed the NES, and that they were sorry the NES had ended. The archievements of the NES was fx introducing the surprisingly good player Masada to NESing, as well as introducing a new playstyle to the NES called 'co-op-er-a-tion'.

I did a NES where the express purpose was to kill off as many players as possible, so that might get weird when we have the only 7 people at the end or so.
