Hello everyone.
The goal here is to hopefully introduce some new people to what I find to be a fascinating mod.
We'll be using Fall From Heaven 2.033 along with the latest patch, "c" (EDIT: Game has updated to patch F as of turn 200 save.)

Some possible settings:
Map: Fractal
Leader: Tasunke of Hippus
Difficulty: Prince
Speed: Normal

Here is our leader, Tasunke of Hippus:

And the starting location:

The Team:
Schwartz
Krick19
Quotey
Groogaroo
PaulusIII
Cheshiremythos

Game is now full!

I'm a bit unsure on the set length, but I'm leaning towards 30 turns for the first couple and down to 20-15 for the following. We can be a bit flexible on this, however.
As this is supposed to be an educational experience, I hope to get a good discussion going with the team, so we can all learn some new things about the mod, also, we'd rather lose and know why we did, than win and not know.

We'll be following a pretty strict 24 hours "got it" and 48 additional to play, but I vastly prefer swaps to skips, so try to let everyone know what the situation will be.

Too overloaded already to join but I would suggest Tasunke of the Hippus as a good introduction leader. His traits (Agressive and Raider) make for a good domination/conquest victory, so you don't have to go to heavily down the magic paths and can learn on the fly easier.

Good luck!

Cool, thanks for the info.

I'd like to join in, I've wanted to have a go at Fall From Heaven for a while, learning the ins and outs as a team seems some how less daunting than doing it on your own.

You guys also open to SG newbs who just want to give FFH a try? If so, I'd like to sign up as well.

And I'm all for the idea of using a 'knocking heads' civ/faction in the first playthrough. Bloodthirsty play is good. :D

Heh, Paulus we're pretty much all FFH noobs.

On the map, I'd rather we didn't use the Erebus generator. It creates a lot of valleys, and while interesting, it's something that complicates the game more, and I think we should stay with fractal.

On the difficulty, I'd really like to stay on Prince, since I'm trying a Noble game(Perpentach) right now, and though I have an overpowered start, the AI can't keep up at all. Monarch would be kinda difficult since we'd have to deal with a much less forgiving game and also try to learn FFH, but if you guys want to do it, sure.

Tasunke sounds good, and I think Epic speed would be best(though the starts are rather slow)

Paulus:
I added you, now looking for just one more, hopefully someone with some more knowledge of the mod.

I think I've decided on Normal speed after running through some starts quickly. Epic just goes too slow.

Yeah, it is a bit slow, but I dunno, I guess I'm used to slow. Normal sounds good though(Epic is 1000 turns!)

Yeah, early Epic game goes WAY too slow for an SG... I can't even imagine Marathon.

I agree that the speed should be normal... epic is indeed a bit on the slow side early on in FFH.

Schwartz, we should roll a start so we can discuss strategy and such while we wait for the last person. I'm still interested in Tasunke, and Ozbenno did say he was pretty good, so that sounds good.

If you can't do it, just let me know, I can roll up a start.

Patch c has been released. We using that or sticking with b? Can you provide a download link for b?

e: oh, link up for b

As said before, Tasunke's fine with me. Just tried him out a bit. Pretty much the Genghis Khan of FFH.

Haha, yeah mine is kinda slow too.
