I'm going to repost this here, since someone might be able to just give me a quick answer:

Hello

I am making a scenario with the editor (I've made several scenarios, and my experience level I would rate as somewhere around intermediate, although I just had PTW until recently) and I am running into an unusual problem. I recently made a few changes to this scenario in the editor, such as changes to units, improvements, techs, general settings, and the number of civs allowed per map size ( I want 10 on my standard sized map, not 8).

All of these changes stuck, except for the ones made to the general settings (starting with 2 workers instead of a settler and a worker, since there are pre-placed cities) and the word size changes.

By this I mean, the changes remain the way I left them in the map file, but when the scenario is played, the players start off with a settler and a worker, and there are 8 civs on the map. (The 8 civs are easy to see since they appear in the civ selection screen).

What can I do to fix this?

If you're not actually using it, turning it off could solve your problem.

Otherwise, you're going to have to go into "Scenario Properties", and where it says "Number of Players", increase that to however many you need, and then you'll have to go into the "Players" tab, and make sure that the number of starting Settlers and Workers in there are all set to "0". :)

D'oh

Thanks for the help... what an embarrasing thing to miss...

I usually mod random map scenarios where this isn't a problem.
