ALBANY ELECTIONS. Albany, Albany Republic. The New Yorker Conservative Party was trounced in this years elections by the Moderates. The new Moderate president has pledged to rebuild the nations economy and to increase its economic presence within the New England Empire. (+1 in Stability)
LOUISIANA ELECTIONS. New Orleans, Louisiana. A surprise upset took place this year for the Louisianan Consul elections. The Liberal Party won a surprise victory, pledging to cement Louisianas independence from France, and to increase its reliability and self-sufficiency away from the old country. With a decade to accomplish this goal, some in France fear that the new Louisianan leader may attempt to bring full independence outside of the protectorate for his country. (-1 Stability)
NEW JERSEY ELECTIONS. Trenton, New Jersey. Unlike in fellow dominion Louisiana, the Conservative Party has once more maintained their control of the consulship. The new Consul has pledged to stay the course in their relations with the Empire. (+1 Stability)
MEXICAN ELECTIONS. Mexico City, Empire of Mexico. This years elections for prime minister have resulted in a Conservative victory, removing the old Moderate government. The Conservatives have promised a more nationalist path for Mexico, promising protection of all American interests against outside imperialist intentions. (+1 Stability)
FLORIDA ELECTIONS. St. Augustine, Florida. A surprise upset took place this year in Floridian elections as the Liberal Party, considered the underdogs in the government, managed to win election. They have promised an equal voice to the nations Seminole and African populations, a move which has outraged the standing government and leadership. Protests have broken out, threatening violence and instability in this North American country. (-2 Stability)
PENNSYLVANIA ELECTIONS. Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The Conservative Party of Pennsylvania has won this years elections in an astonishing victory. Some have accused the Conservatives of electoral fraud and call for a recount and rechecking of the votes. Several protests have been lodged by the Liberal and Socialist Parties. (-1 Stability)
INCIDENT IN SAUK. Sauk, Sauk. Native Sauks murdered several Quebecois merchants this year, expressing outrage towards Quebec and their oppressive rule over other native tribes, including some Sauk. Part of the Free America organization, these people have called for Quebec to recognize the native American nations as well as paying reparations to the tribes they have exiled in the past.
VIRGINIA INVADES MIAMI! Detroit, Virginian Empire. In a stunning military campaign, the Army of the Ohio has smashed the Miami military. In a mere seven pitched battles, the Virginian soldiers destroyed the existing Miami forces. Despite the speed and effectiveness of the attack, they did suffer some casualties in a Miami nighttime ambush which nullified Virginian cavalry and artillery superiority. Despite this, Miami has been annexed by the Virginian government and many neighboring states wonder if this signals the revival of the Virginian nation.

Central/South American News Report
CHILE ELECTIONS. Santiago, Chile. This years elections in Chile have seen a resumption of business as usual as the nations Liberal Party wins an overwhelming victory. They have run on the promise to remain neutral in regards to the conflict between Peru and Bolivia, and will not take sides in the violence. (+1 in Stability)
URUGUAY ELECTIONS. Montevideo, Uruguay. The Liberal Party has once more trounced all opposition in Uruguay. The President has pledged to continue his policies of modernization of the nations agriculture and industry. (+1 in Stability)
SOCIALIST RIOT IN CENTRAL AMERICA. Guatemala City, United Provinces of Central America. In the Central American capital of Guatemala, violence broke out when military police fired upon socialist demonstrators, and numerous protestors were killed. This is the latest in a series of socialist attacks on the government of this nation, hoping to overthrow the regime and establish a socialist utopia in central America. (-1 for Stability)
WAR ERUPTS BETWEEN PERU AND BOLIVIA! Sucre, Bolivia. What was supposed to be a quick victory in military combat turned into a devastating quagmire of a war. Bolivian forces attempted in an invasion into Peru, only to be met with stalemate against the border garrisons. Attempts to break through the reinforced garrisons in their planned positions in rough terrain failed miserably, and Peru even managed to launch a counter offensive, invading Bolivia. Casualties have been incredibly high for the Bolivians, who charged the Peruvian machine gun positions with little success. Though the Peruvian invasion has been halted and even pushed back, the war drags on once again in stalemate.

TROUBLE IN BRAZIL. Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Increased turmoil in Brazil has led to demonstrations throughout the nation, and the military responded with violence. An open uprising and mutinies in the military has led to the overthrow and abdication of Emperor Pedro III, who has fled to the German Empire. No one is quite sure whether the Kaiser will respond with violence or recognize the new republican regime which has emerged in Brazil. (-2 Stability in Brazil)

RUSSIA ELECTIONS. St. Petersburg, Russian Empire. Conservatives have dominated this years Duma and Presidential elections, bringing near complete control to the Conservative Party. They have pledged to pursue a nationalist path for the Russian people, and to expand the empire and Russian power internationally. (+1 in Stability)
STATEMENTS SPARK INCIDENT IN BALKANS. Sofia, Bulgaria. Statements by the Bulgarian tsar at a social gathering this year have spread into a wide-scale international incident. The tsar claimed that the Russian monarch had given the go-ahead for Bulgarian dominion over all the Balkans. The claimed that military support would be provided for annexations of Transylvania, Serbia, Greece, and Moldavia. Needless so say, when these remarks were published, the other leaders have been outraged. Many have publicly demanded apologies, and Greek and Moldavian military forces have even been moved to the border for defensive precautions.

RIOTS BREAK OUT IN ABYSSINIA. Addis Ababa, Abyssinia. This year, in Addis Ababas growing middle class, educated district, Abyssinian nationalists rioted after police fired upon a demonstration by university students. These nationalists have called for independence from the French Imperial Protectorate and a new course for Abyssinia. They hope that Abyssinia could be the leader for all Africans in a struggle for independence against imperialism.
