Welcome to The Rise of Islam:
Here you can aid the Muslims playing as the Patriarchal Caliphate ruled by Caliphe Abu Bakr, or as the Sassanid Persians under Yazdgerd, by helping to establish their Empire by conquering Europe and Africa. You can also try to stop the Muslims from gaining a foothold on the world by playing as a European Civilization like the Byzantines, or Aquitaine Empire. You can also play on a whole different front by playing as the Tang Dynasty in China. Or by playing as the Mayans as Pacal the Great! No matter who you chose their will always be many challenges awaiting you.

What's Happening in the World:
The year is now 632AD right after the death of the Prophet Mohamed. The previous Arabian tribes have now joined together to form the Patriarchal Caliphate and have joined their military and are now ready to embark on a conquest of their known world! The European Civilizations are still rebuilding themselves after the destruction of the Roman Empire which left the Europeans unprotected and weak. In the Far East the Oriental Empires are flourishing to greatness while the rest of the World fights against each other for dominance.

Scenario Info:
The Rise of Islam is 3.17 compatible. There are currently 28 civilizations which have historically accurate leaders and cities. We have Religion specific Unique Units and some special units to go along with the theme "The Rise of Islam"! Such as the Ansar Warrior (Made by myself :)) and Jihadist of Allah! Starts at 632 AD playable only on marathon game speed which has tweaks to the time frame so it goes a few years at a time when you start!

Future Plans:
I'm already working on the next version of The Rise of Islam! The next version will hopefully add several new civs and possibly civ specific UU's and UB's for all of the civs I have added. It will also include tons of Events which will spark Revolutions of new Islamic states through out the game, this will raise the number of civilizations to 32!

That might be hard to do wait til you see their army! Abu Bakr might just crush you if your not careful! Have fun with it!

Just started a game as Abu Bakr on Prince level. Lots of fun and very nice historical accuracy. I managed to take Merv in exactly 652 AD and according to history that was the end of the Sassanid empire (death of Yezgerid), but in this scenario you still have to take Samarkand as well. Wouldn't it be more accurate to make Samarkand a barbarian city?

I have pretty much recreated the Khalif Ottoman expansion (death in 656 AD) and I'm gathering my forces to take on Constantinople. Let's see if I can do better than the historical Arabs did (they experienced massive losses when trying to take Constantinople around 670 AD). After that I'm going to try to recreate the Omajjaden expansion (North-Africa & Spain).

Ya I noticed the historically accuracy in conquest of other empires as well. The sassanids do take longer to kill then they should I'll see if I can find a way to change that. What I like to do is conquer the Byzantines in North Africa then start attacks on Spain and France by transporting troops with my Galley! have fun!

Here's some Events that I might incorporate sometime!

Umayyad Capital at Damascus, In 750AD the Abbasid Caliphe comes to power destroying the Umayyad Caliphe, but the Umayyad Prince Abd-ar-rahman I escaped and founded the Umayyad Dynasty in Spain.

Fatimids set up Caliphe in Tunisia in 920AD the Fatimids conquer Egypt in 972AD.

Samanids begin there revolution in Persia in 819AD shattering the strenght of the Caliphs by setting up the Samanid Dynasty in Persia. They will own Samarqand, Bukhara, and Herat.

Bulgarians in Europe are founded in 681AD under Khan Tervel who defeats the Muslims at Constantinople in 718AD They also destroy the Avar Khanate making themselves the largest state in Europe threatening the very existance of the Byzantine Empire.

Kievan Rus' established in 880AD.

793 Viking establish themselves by beginning there raids on Europe.

I sort of was expecting events already in this scenario (having experienced the 1000 AD Medieval Age) and therefore chose a lower level (Prince).

Anyway, after taking Constantinople and Athens I shipped my stack back to North Africa to kill off the Byzantines, when the Pope decided I had to stop the war. Well, I was not amused and shipped my stack to Italy and crushed the papacy and the Lombards. I actually switched to Christianity, because staying Muslim does not pay off anymore. At this point in the game I'm so far ahead it gets a bit boring, so I call it quits. Below is a screenshot of my empire in 734 AD.

I'm going to play one of your other scenarios next (too...much...to...play...must...find...time... ;) ). I think this one needs some more "polishing".

How I'm planning on fixing it so you don't get supper advanced and leave the others in the dust is by having the events where new caliphes arise this way you don't get too overpowering.

Playing it on Emperor level as Byzance, and it is just too easy. I'm just too powerful compared to all others and that since the begining: send all your troops (with the too much powerfull UU) to Jerusalem to hold the first Arab wave, you won't lose any troops, after that you're fine: you have tons of Wonders, a powerful army, a great land (just build tons of worker from day 1) and you are way ahead on tech. You basically can kill whom ever you want. Isn't too easy? is that intended?

Very nicely done. It seems all I'm doing these days is playing your senarios. Anyway, I started a game as the Lombards, and was able to recreate the Western Roman Empire. The Byzantines did a fair job of destroying the Arabs. It's about 1300 AD and The Byzantines and I are locked in a sort of Cold War. We're discovering techs at the same pace, and our military is practicly the same. Just one question: are you planing to expand on the Aquitaine Empire? Like, make them the Franks or something?

I'm planning on having it so every 100 years the leader and civ name changes at least for the first couple 100 years this way it keeps up to date with the civ names and stuff.

Aw... I'm having the same interface disappearance problems that I had with your The Mongols! mod... I really want to play both of them!

Same experience here. The Byzantine Cataphracs can easily slice and dice any Arabs coming north. The Arabs asked to capilulate (i.e. become vassals) after the end of the first (default) war.

Also, I noted this was a world map with America included. Is the plan/timeline of the scenario to colonize and get involved in America?

You guys want to know what hell is? Hell is wanting to play these damn scenarios and not being able to get them to work. If anyone can help I would appreciate it, but it doesn't matter what I try I cannot get neither this scenario or SEal's Mongol scenario to work.

I just keep getting the same damn error message over and over again... "World builder failed to read..."

If there's anyone out there who can help, I'd really appreciate it.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
