Journey to Nowhere - Game Thread

It's the deadline and I have...

2 orders. (I'm counting any PM after the last turn as orders.)

I would like to see the other orders... soon, or else I may have to whip out the RNG, which won't be very forgiving. (I realize some people are away, but not everyone...)

That's a good point... and part of the reason why having a leader helps me. However, if you guys want to establish an official voting system in order to make the group do certain things, you can go ahead.

I am willing to give a 12+ hour extension in order to sort that stuff out this time.

Okay,
I reckon we need a new leader. Who's willing to step up to the plate?

Either that or we need to start disscussing how to go about doing things.

My orders are simple

Lay down on my back and try not to disturb anyone else as I am being carried. Sleep during the day and make sure there are no movements at night.

Keep my pen-dart handy.

Actually, if you guys are ok with it, I have an update ready. Just let me know in the next hour or two about whether you want the next update or not.

Journey to Nowhere – 1200 hrs, 29.05.00 (Update 10)

Once everyone realized that Jeremy Bentham was missing, the consensus was that Bentham was a traitor to the group, and most people just wanted to move on south. The Ronin, however, decided to try and find Bentham while doing his usual sweep for ambushes, and after some initial arguing, he left to find Jeremy. The rest of the group proceeded southward.

After a few hours, the Ronin still hadn’t returned, so Benjamin Cook suggested that he go look for Ronin. More argument erupted, but Benjamin just left and started his own search. Eventually, it was noon, and the group stopped for lunch. Neither Benjamin nor the Ronin (nor Bentham) had appeared, so the rest of the group was getting pretty suspicious.

All of a sudden, a gun fired out of the woods, and hit Mike Hammer, who was wounded by the shot. Then, shouting came out of the woods, and it sounded like Benjamin Cook and the Ronin. The nearby group divided in two – one half staying to heal and protect Mike Hammer, the other going to investigate the shouting, with guns drawn. Benjamin Cook called the Ronin a murderer, leapt out of the bushes, and started attacking with his knife. However, the Ronin seemed ready for it, and shot Benjamin three times with his pistol, critically wounding him.

Right after the scene erupted, Alen and Dickie held up their weapons, and shouted at the Ronin and Benjamin to stop their fighting. The Ronin complied, and Benjamin was so badly wounded that he could barely move. The issue of what to do now faced the rest of the group – a conflict this serious had to be solved quickly.

It is now 1200 hrs, the 29th of Blooming, Year 00. The next turn will last at least 24 game hours (probably 48), and the deadline for orders is Tuesday March 24th at 11:59 PM GMT (7:59 PM EDT).

Status Report:

Benjamin Cook is critically wounded, and the conflict between him and the Ronin needs to be resolved. If you need extra time to sort it out, I’ll give it to you, but please try to deal with this before the next deadline.

The following are things that need to be distributed:
- 11 Days' Food
- Cleaver
- Knife
- 2 Pistols (8 Clips)
- AK47 (3 Clips and 20 Spare Bullets)
- Tent and Sleeping Bag
- 2 Vlatixan SMGs (4 Clips)
- 3 Snipers (3 Clips)
- Rocket Launcher (2 Rockets)

Food levels have not changed. I do have a few PMs to make, however.

The Ronin keeps one hand on his holstered pistol at all times and another hand only a breaths length away from his knife.

While scouting I found Jeremy Bentham's corpse, he had several knife wounds to the neck and a bloodied knife was lying beside him. If anyone would like to check that I will happily give you directions to the corpse or walk you there myself. I saw Benjamin Cook crouched behind some bushes and managed to sneak up behind him. He then shot Mike Hammer and charged me with his knife. I shot him three times in the chest point blank with my pistol. I have no remorse for my actions, my job has always been to further the rebel cause. If you ask me I think you should all let me put one more into Benjamin Cook after we interrogate him. Finish the job...

As matters stand I refuse to relinquish my weapons, especially until someone checks for the body and we hear Mike Hammer's account (seeing as I did just save his life). I have no motive for hurting anyone who isn't trying to prevent me from guiding you all to the rebel safe-house.

OOC: If I wasn't critically injured, I'd call you a bloody liar. Heheh

(OOC: Damn it Lee... Why'd you have to go try and blow LightFang away?)

OOC: Wat? I was watching you shoot at Lightfang, that's why I jumped out at you with a knife. Not surprising you had your gun at ready.

It's quite simple to tell that Banana is lying. I'm a crack shot. I only fired the three bullets I needed to stop him. You guys can check the clip if you like

The Ronin ejects the clip for observation and replaces it.

I suggest you check his weapon as well... See how many bullets his clip is missing.

{I'm back!}

Seems that we have a murder case on us. It must be solved. I suggest we check out the place of Benthams corpse and hold both Ronin and Benjamin Cook away from eachother under guard.

Hey now...

Mike Hammer kept an easy countenance, despite the pain he was in. That was how he'd been raised.

Look, it's not a murder case till I'm actually dead, you know? He cracked a grin.

Anyway, I don't know what we should do about those two, but clearly one has to be right, and the other has to be wrong.

And we really should be dividing up those items. Tell you what, I'm not that good of a fighter, like I've been saying. So just hand me that knife, to replace the one that's been stolen from me. We should also divide the pistol clips up among everybody who has a pistol as evenly as possible. Finally, I think we should divide up the high-power weapons among those who can best use one, maybe giving some people two (for example, they could have a rocket launcher and a SMG for close distance), and then hand the extras out to people like me, since I don't think anybody really needs five weapons all to himself, hmm?

Alen keeps his crossbow trained on the Ronin, his finger on the trigger.

"None of this makes sense. Why would Benjamin shoot Mike? I have no doubt that you're working against the Imperials, Ronin. Call it a gut feeling. But I want to know exactly what's going on here before I turn my back on either of you."

*Dickie looks nervously back and forth between the two suspects, keeping Delilah at his shoulder at all times. Eventually, his (and Delilah's) gaze comes to rest on Benjamin.*

I gotta say, it's lookin' bad for you, Ben.

Like how you was the only one who come back from that expedition to the lake... Must say, that gave me cause for suspectin' you already.

And I can't say as I saw you leapin' into action when we fought them Imperials at the cave, neither.

What's more, you said you'd stand guard a couple of nights back, but Mr. Bentham says no and takes up the post himself. Next thing, we find he's gone missing.

And now, Ronin tells us Mr. Bentham's gone got himself murdered.

*He shakes his head*

Aye, it's lookin' real bad...

Terni groaned.

"Do you guys have respect for each other? Death of one of the crew... check Bentham's wounds and check it with their weapons."

You even move towards that trigger Mr Alen and you better hope the first bolt hits me in the head.

Believe me if I wanted to kill Mike Hammer he'd be dead by now. I carry a scoped and silenced hunting rifle capable of semi-automatic fire. I have a very good knowledge of the woods. It wouldn't have taken much talent to put a high caliber bullet in the back of his head. Obviously the bullet that hit Mike Hammer came from a smaller caliber gun... Seeing as my clip is accounted for as I only fired three shots and Benjamin Cook has three wounds I don't see the point in your trivial suspicions. Seeing as Benjamin Cook charged me with a knife I'd suspect he dropped his weapon in the brush he was hiding in... Why don't you check for it there and examine his clip? Unless of course you're his accomplice Mr Alen?
