Elections this year in France marked a growing social divide in the nation, as socialists and nationalists sparred against the reigning imperial party. In a move of obvious fraud, the reigning party modified the votes to exclude the others from a plural victory in the electorate. This has sparked riots among the various factions in France, and socialist groups have rebelled across the northern part of the country. In the south, French Nationalist Party groups have also demonstrated against the government. Many feel that these elections could be, despite the turmoil, a brief calm before the storm.
A NEW ROYAL MARRIAGE. Amsterdam, Empire of the Netherlands. The Dutch and German royal families have celebrated a marriage this year as the second and only unmarried daughter of the House of Orange married the prince of the German Empire. This is to serve as a strengthening of the bonds of both nations, in order to help quell the tensions between the two nations over the past years.
SERBS COMPLETE INDUSTRIAL REFORM PROGRAM. Belgrade, Serbia. After about five years of effort, the Serbian government has announced the stream-lining of the Serbian industrial apparatus. However, the nationalization and effort has outraged private industry as well as forcing the closure of several businesses. ANGLO-CELTIC WAR. Dublin, Celtic Union. While trenches remain stable on the Scottish front, the fighting has taken a dramatic turn on the strategic scale. With the support of a new zeppelin line opened between Portugal and the Celtic Union, the Celts have begun shipping reinforcements and supplies by air, over the Anglo-German blockade. With the aid of New Englander and Portuguese advisors, a new organization has been established, the Celtic Zeppelin Arm of the Navy. As their first operations, they launched a strike against a small German task force in the Irish Sea. Newly constructed zeppelin bombers had unexpected and wild success against the Germans, remaining well out of firing range of the enemy ships. A German dreadnought was sent to the bottom of the ocean, and several others were damaged beyond repair. This defeat has shocked the German populace and government, shaming the German Kaiserliche Marine.

TURMOIL CONTINUES IN PERSIA. Tehran, Persia. Infighting has continued in the Persian republic, as elements of the military attempt to seize power for themselves. This year has seen over a half dozen attempts by various commanders to seize power regionally or nationally. The military remains disjointed and fighting among themselves. The republican government retains only de facto control of perhaps fifty percent of the army and barely maintains the war effort. Some elements of the military have launched attacks against Virginian supply trains and bases, causing severe logistical issues for the coalition in Persia. The bloodshed continues to escalate, while the republican government attempts to retain control.

SUEZ WAR. Ankara, Ottoman Empire. The war in the Ottoman Empire seems to have reached its climax, as coalition forces win multiple victories against the Ottomans throughout the year. The smallest victory came with a minor Arab offensive into the Ottoman Empire, seizing some undefended land, but halting when they came up against Ottoman defensive forces. They managed to meet up with Persian and Virginian forces in the northeast, and have once more begun consolidating their lines. In the eastern theater, early Persian attacks against Ottoman forces were uncoordinated and easily repulsed by the defending trench positions. Late in the year, however, the Ottoman forces received an unpleasant surprised. Virginian forces appeared on the front using a clanking machination code-named the “tank” as well as some armored cars with machine guns. Along with the support of these vehicles, the Virginians and what support they could get from the Persians, managed to break the Ottoman line, and the Ottomans continue to rout to the east, as Baghdad falls once more. Fighting continued in Palestine this year, as coalition forces dug in, in preparation for an Ottoman offensive. On cue, the Ottomans launched a wave against the Dutch and Virginian positions, receiving incredibly high casualties. The Virginians, exploiting the situation, made an offensive on their own, breaking the Ottoman forces, and dragging the Dutch along for the ride. Jerusalem fell to the Virginian onslaught, and they continued their advance north, until the Ottomans were able to assemble a new defensive line and bloodily halt the offensive. The Greeks, pinned down in brutal fighting in their initial landing zone, made a new landing to the north, in the hopes of breaking the stalemate. Surprised while preparing a new offensive, the Greeks managed to secure a larger landing area. After a series of brutal battles, the Greek army has secured much of the western coast of Asia Minor through sheer numbers.

FIGHTING IN CHINA. Guangzhou, Guangxi. The United Front scored two major victories this year, one politically, and the other militarily. In attempt to consolidate their control over China, the Korean government attempted to directly annex the nation of Guangxi, outraging local leaders, and the warlord who almost let it take place was arrested and executed. A new warlord has risen, and had joined the united front alongside the Republic of China. Guangxi has fought some major engagements against the Koreans, and have lost some territory, though they managed to defeat some smaller Korean forces in the south. To the west, the Republicans have managed to overwhelm the army of Yunnan with a larger force, taking Kunming from the warlord. They managed to outflank most of the warlord’s positions, though he has retreated toward the coastline. In the north, with the support of Shanxi, the Republic of China has managed to gain some limited territory from the emperor, though they have fallen just short of Zhengzhou. Korean forces managed to halt the advance, as fighting escalated. At sea, a naval confrontation took place between Korean and Swedish ships, and it is reported that a pair of Korean destroyers attempting to run the blockade were sunk by the Swedish Royal Navy. There has been outrage in Korea towards the Swedish actions, and an increased demand for war.

In regards to the Mexican Civil War, casualties were not added due to the confused status of Mexico at the moment, some soldiers have been taken away, but the reunification of the nation makes exact numbers of deaths and overall casualties more difficult to calculate.

Though the Konservative Folkparti won this year’s elections, they lost some holdings in Parliament, as more leftist parties began to gain a hold. The various leftist groups, while disjointed and much smaller than the larger Konservative one, have argued for the breaking of the alliance with Germany and Sweden, and the growth of internal Danish economic strength and isolationism. PORTUGAL ELECTIONS. Lisbon, Portugal. As zeppelins soar through the skies, so does the Portuguese economy and nation. The Moderate Party enjoys unparalleled popularity in comparison to other nations’ ruling regimes, and they have easily dominated this year’s elections. The government has pledged to maintain Portugal’s economic growth, and in order to secure it, has promised to build up the national defense. This year’s recruitment drive was the first step, securing a much larger Portuguese military to “defend our nation’s prosperity.” (+1 Stability)
FRENCH IMPERIAL ELECTIONS. Paris, French Empire. Elections this year in France marked a growing social divide in the nation, as socialists and nationalists sparred against the reigning imperial party. In a move of obvious fraud, the reigning party modified the votes to exclude the others from a plural victory in the electorate. This has sparked riots among the various factions in France, and socialist groups have rebelled across the northern part of the country. In the south, French Nationalist Party groups have also demonstrated against the government. Many feel that these elections could be, despite the turmoil, a brief calm before the storm.
A NEW ROYAL MARRIAGE. Amsterdam, Empire of the Netherlands. The Dutch and German royal families have celebrated a marriage this year as the second and only unmarried daughter of the House of Orange married the prince of the German Empire. This is to serve as a strengthening of the bonds of both nations, in order to help quell the tensions between the two nations over the past years.
SERBS COMPLETE INDUSTRIAL REFORM PROGRAM. Belgrade, Serbia. After about five years of effort, the Serbian government has announced the stream-lining of the Serbian industrial apparatus. However, the nationalization and effort has outraged private industry as well as forcing the closure of several businesses. The move has put thousands out of work and has had an overall negative effect on the Serbian economy. (-1 EP)
OKTOBERFEST IN GERMANY. Munich, German Empire. The Kaiser Wilhelm II spoke at this year’s hundredth anniversary of the Oktoberfest celebration, proclaiming the years ahead to be a Golden Time of German power. The influx of new technologies and the growth of global trade in the German sphere of influence seems to mark the 1910s as an era of growing German power and prosperity. Wilhelm II has pledged to keep Germany as one of the greatest powers of the world and to maintain German strength in combat and technology.
ANGLO-CELTIC WAR. Dublin, Celtic Union. While trenches remain stable on the Scottish front, the fighting has taken a dramatic turn on the strategic scale. With the support of a new zeppelin line opened between Portugal and the Celtic Union, the Celts have begun shipping reinforcements and supplies by air, over the Anglo-German blockade. With the aid of New Englander and Portuguese advisors, a new organization has been established, the Celtic Zeppelin Arm of the Navy. As their first operations, they launched a strike against a small German task force in the Irish Sea. Newly constructed zeppelin bombers had unexpected and wild success against the Germans, remaining well out of firing range of the enemy ships. A German dreadnought was sent to the bottom of the ocean, and several others were damaged beyond repair. This defeat has shocked the German populace and government, shaming the German Kaiserliche Marine.

TUNISIA ELECTIONS. Tunis, Tunisia. Demand for domestic reform has at last hit the nation of Tunisia. This year’s elections revolved around the demand for increased voting rights, and allowing non-landed individuals the right to vote. As industrialization increased over the past fifty years, so has the strength of the Liberal Party. They have promised to spend more money on domestics than military might. (+2 Stability)
TURMOIL CONTINUES IN PERSIA. Tehran, Persia. Infighting has continued in the Persian republic, as elements of the military attempt to seize power for themselves. This year has seen over a half dozen attempts by various commanders to seize power regionally or nationally. The military remains disjointed and fighting among themselves. The republican government retains only de facto control of perhaps fifty percent of the army and barely maintains the war effort. Some elements of the military have launched attacks against Virginian supply trains and bases, causing severe logistical issues for the coalition in Persia. The bloodshed continues to escalate, while the republican government attempts to retain control.

SUEZ WAR. Ankara, Ottoman Empire. The war in the Ottoman Empire seems to have reached its climax, as coalition forces win multiple victories against the Ottomans throughout the year. The smallest victory came with a minor Arab offensive into the Ottoman Empire, seizing some undefended land, but halting when they came up against Ottoman defensive forces. They managed to meet up with Persian and Virginian forces in the northeast, and have once more begun consolidating their lines. In the eastern theater, early Persian attacks against Ottoman forces were uncoordinated and easily repulsed by the defending trench positions. Late in the year, however, the Ottoman forces received an unpleasant surprised. Virginian forces appeared on the front using a clanking machination code-named the “tank” as well as some armored cars with machine guns. Along with the support of these vehicles, the Virginians and what support they could get from the Persians, managed to break the Ottoman line, and the Ottomans continue to rout to the east, as Baghdad falls once more. Fighting continued in Palestine this year, as coalition forces dug in, in preparation for an Ottoman offensive. On cue, the Ottomans launched a wave against the Dutch and Virginian positions, receiving incredibly high casualties. The Virginians, exploiting the situation, made an offensive on their own, breaking the Ottoman forces, and dragging the Dutch along for the ride. Jerusalem fell to the Virginian onslaught, and they continued their advance north, until the Ottomans were able to assemble a new defensive line and bloodily halt the offensive. The Greeks, pinned down in brutal fighting in their initial landing zone, made a new landing to the north, in the hopes of breaking the stalemate. Surprised while preparing a new offensive, the Greeks managed to secure a larger landing area. After a series of brutal battles, the Greek army has secured much of the western coast of Asia Minor through sheer numbers.

FIGHTING IN CHINA. Guangzhou, Guangxi. The United Front scored two major victories this year, one politically, and the other militarily. In attempt to consolidate their control over China, the Korean government attempted to directly annex the nation of Guangxi, outraging local leaders, and the warlord who almost let it take place was arrested and executed. A new warlord has risen, and had joined the united front alongside the Republic of China. Guangxi has fought some major engagements against the Koreans, and have lost some territory, though they managed to defeat some smaller Korean forces in the south. To the west, the Republicans have managed to overwhelm the army of Yunnan with a larger force, taking Kunming from the warlord. They managed to outflank most of the warlord’s positions, though he has retreated toward the coastline. In the north, with the support of Shanxi, the Republic of China has managed to gain some limited territory from the emperor, though they have fallen just short of Zhengzhou. Korean forces managed to halt the advance, as fighting escalated. At sea, a naval confrontation took place between Korean and Swedish ships, and it is reported that a pair of Korean destroyers attempting to run the blockade were sunk by the Swedish Royal Navy. There has been outrage in Korea towards the Swedish actions, and an increased demand for war.

In addition to this, some nation’s EP has been adjusted to measure in the new spheres of trade, some shrinking and others growing. Please check your stats to note the change.
In regards to the Mexican Civil War, casualties were not added due to the confused status of Mexico at the moment, some soldiers have been taken away, but the reunification of the nation makes exact numbers of deaths and overall casualties more difficult to calculate.
