Kind of how I felt last turn. I knew I wanted an anarchic nation though. I couldn't decide between picking one already falling apart or making one fall apart all on my own. There is a sense of pride in making something as FUBAR as possible.

A major march was held in Boston to campaign for these privileges, and the movement has also called for rights for women in the workplace. VIRGINIA STRUGGLES WITH NEW REFORM. Richmond, Virginian Empire. The economic recession has led to a multitude of abandoned factories in Virginia, left behind by departing Swedish and Russian businesses. The Virginian government has bought up these abandoned properties in order to sell them to enterprising capitalists. Unfortunately, very few of these businesses have been bought as capitalists and business owners have reduced their spending in order to trim sails during the recession. The buildings remain vacant under the government, with even a lack of taxes causing some problems. The Virginian government has also passed some radical new reforms, promising government sponsored pensions to people over 65. They have also allowed tax breaks for white families which produce more children, a fact which has sparked a boom of procreation throughout the country.

CHILE ELECTIONS. Santiago, Chile. This years elections in Chile were hotly debated particularly involving Chilean assistance and intervention in the fighting in Bolivia. Resentment towards the growing economy has fallen squarely upon the Moderate Party and their affiliations with the German Empire. The failed policies of attempted nationalization and the near bankruptcy of the Chilean treasury has easily given support to the reigning partys opposition. The Liberal Party has won the elections, pledging to restore dignity and pride to Chile by recognizing the socialist government of the Socialist Union of South America as well as reopening attempts to increase trade with La Plata and other socialist states. BOLIVIA IN FLAMES. Sucre, Bolivia. As the economic situation deteriorates the nation of Bolivia has risen in open rebellion against the German Imperial Protectorate and the reigning dictatorship. German forces in the region were quickly mobilized to deal with the threat, while much of the standing Bolivian military defected to the rebels. A series of brutal pitched battles were launched against the Germans and government forces throughout the country and some smaller German corps were overwhelmed. By the end of the year forces from both Germany and Chile, along with the few troops remaining loyal to the Bolivian regime managed to restore order.

COMMUNIST REVOLT IN BUENOS AIRES. Buenos Aires, Buenos Aires Protectorate. A large amount of communists have risen in full scale rebellion against the government of the Buenos Aires Protectorate this year. They failed to secure control of the government buildings in the capital and the military has remained loyal to the standing government. Several military successes have already been had against the communists and even Socialist Party leaders have called for the communists to end their backwoods rebellion. Scattered pockets of resistance remain in some slums and backwater towns, but the country has mostly been stabilized by the reigning government.

RIOTS IN CUBA. Havana, Cuba. Heavy riots devastated downtown Havana this year following disputes over rising food prices and reduced wages. The failing economy has yet to assemble any organized resistance to the government, and it seems that when the elections arrive, it may well be that the regime quickly changes. For now the Cuban government has declared a curfew in Havana in order to help maintain law in the city.
REPUBLICAN DISSENT IN HAITI. Port-au-Prince, Empire of Haiti. The Haitian government has been persistently besieged by republican activists, calling for a new regime and an end to the monarchy. The Haitian people have had several large rallies, some which have escalated into riots throughout the Haitian islands. The monarchy has mobilized the military in opposition to the protestors, preventing incredible unrest.
RIOTS IN RIO. Rio de Janeiro, Socialist Union of South America. The ideal of a communist paradise seems to have been put to the test this year, as a major riot broke out in Rio de Janeiro. No one is entirely sure how the conflict started, but the end result was the declaration of martial law and a curfew by the city government. Property damage has been acknowledged to be extremely high, while civilian deaths are reported to be in the hundreds with several thousands of people injured.
UPCA COLLAPSES. Guatemala City, Guatemala. After fifty years of hobbling along as a poor independent nation, the government of the United Provinces of Central America has finally dissolved. Separate states have divided from the larger nation, after receiving great autonomy over the past few years. The election of a Socialist Party government has threatened most of the states with feared integration. The nations of Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, and Belize have all been declared following the collapse of the unified government. Thankfully violence of a civil war has been at least temporarily avoided, as the government in Guatemala bowed to the various new nations decision. The Socialist Party has remained in charge of Guatemala, the previously unified nations former capital. The Conservative Party have retained their previous stronghold in Belize, a heart of militarism and conservatism in the nation. El Salvador is currently controlled by a coalition government, though they plan to hold first elections next year. Honduras has become under the control of the Liberal Party, maintaining its independence.
ECONOMIC CRISIS IN CHILE. Santiago, Chile. The government of Chile dealt a major blow to its own economy this year, pushing the nation to the verge of bankruptcy. The embargo on East Atlantic Customs Union goods has severely raised overall prices in Chile, and many basics are quickly becoming unaffordable to the average Chilean. The government attempted to buy up many businesses that were going bankrupt as well, bringing the weight of their debt and failure upon the governments pocketbook. The Chilean government has been quickly running into extraordinary debt, threatening to cause a massive financial crisis and a meltdown of the national currency.
PEACE IN ECUADOR. Bogotá, Colombia. The fighting in Ecuador has come to an explosive end. In a bid to secure dominance once and for all before further outside intervention, the Peruvian and Colombian militaries launched a full scale offensive. With little chance for defensive preparations and tactical surprise, the Ecuadorian military folded in the face of their opposition. They were obviously unable to maintain their positions on what became essentially a three front war. Ecuador has been divided and annexed by Colombia and Peru, declaring their lands to be nationally part of the other two nations. The leaders of the Socialist Party of Ecuador have been rounded up and executed by the Colombian government, decapitating the leadership for any possible resistance.

NAVAL BATTLE OFF OF COLOMBIA. Santa Marta, Colombia. A major naval engagement took place off the coast of the nation of Colombia between the fleets of the Socialist Union of South America and the Republic of New England. With the destruction of Ecuador by Colombia and Peru, SUSA dispatched a major naval and ground force in an attempt to bring relief to the Ecuadorian military. They were blocked by a New Englander taskforce off the northern tip of Colombia. In the confrontation the fleets were drawn closer together while the SUSA transports moved off to the east. Despite being horribly outgunned by the New England task force, the commanding admiral opened fire on the nearest dreadnought, the ship was sunk in the heavy fire before they could even issue a volley. A great round of combat was initiated at close range, and the superior skills of the New Englander navy were well demonstrated as well as the firepower of the Victory-class battleships present. After losing the fleets flagship and a large number of support ships, the SUSA force withdrew to the east. With both battleships heavily damaged, the commanding New Englander admiral declined to pursue the retreating force.

CUBA MAKES GOODWILL GESTURE TO FRANCE. Marseilles, France. The Cuban government has recognized the Lisist regime as the official government of France. To this end they have agreed to make amends for the fighting and seizure of French property during the Great War. A battlecruiser and several escort ships have been returned to the French Empire, making good the losses to Cuba during the conflict. The Cuban government says that it hopes for new ties with France and for a new era of peace in their struggle for control in Europe.

BATTLE ON ITALIAN-HUNGARIAN BORDER. Venice, Republic of Italy. A massive artillery barrage began a vicious battle along the Italian and Hungarian border. The fighting quickly escalated as local commanders called in reinforcements to deal with fighting in the Croatian area. Casualties quickly mounted between each side as forces entered into a major battle. Ultimately the fighting wound down as diplomats appealed for calm. The battle is believed to have been caused by the rape of a Hungarian woman by Italian border guards. Unfortunately for the Italian army, the woman who was thus violated was the wife of the commander of local Hungarian artillery. The commander, in a fit of anger, opened up an artillery barrage upon the border station, which was responded in turn by the Italians. The battle soon spiraled out of control.

COLLAPSE OF THE CELTIC UNION. Dublin, Dublin Safe Zone. The economic recession has sparked a spiral of anarchy in the European nation of the Celtic Union. The pressures of the political process and the failing economy has led to widespread riots and confusion. In Dublin, a meeting of Congress was stormed by an unruly mob. The following hours, all government virtually disappeared in the country, descending the state into anarchy. Several strong powers have emerged in the following months, which have managed to establish some resemblance of order to the islands. In Scotland, the military forces along the English border have managed to retain discipline and remain under the command of their reigning officer. They have establishing the Edinburgh Border Security Sector (EBSS), pledging to not only keep the islands free of English intervention but to restore proper control to the rest of the divided Celtic Union. Further north in Scotland, the only order remaining are a hodgepodge of militias assembled by familial groups. The Alliance of the Clans has rallied at Glasgow, and has forestalled several attempts by the militarist EBSS from moving into the highlands. In Ireland, the Celtic navy has rallied military forces in Dublin, retaking government buildings from unruly mobs. They have declared a Safe Zone in the city for refugees attempting to find some order and stability. Several other islands have fallen under the navys control, and they continue to maintain control of the nations remaining international trade. In the north, diehard Protestants in Belfast have announced the new Nation of Ulster. They have fought several skirmishes with Cork to the south, which has fallen under the control of ultra-rightist Catholics.

FRENCH CIVIL WAR. Paris, France. The French Civil War has continued to escalate this year as the socialists and lisists continue to face off in northern France. Using developed anti-tank tactics and their own armored forces, the socialists have won a major victory against the lisists. Heavy fighting took place southeast of Paris, where the socialists managed to rout the advancing lisist force. Lisist artillery superiority eventually managed to bring a halt to the driving socialist force, stalemating the lines. Belgian forces have continued to arrive to assist the socialists, bringing to bear tanks and artillery, helping to maintain socialist controls.

Reports have been confirmed in foreign press of mass executions of Negroes when villages or towns are overrun, and prisoners of war are often executed as well. The Klan in Tennessee has begun displaying this as an example of their dedication to establishing a white state with the removal of the negro from society. As blacks flee to Virginia and Georgia to escape the mass deaths, various Klan militias have fought against armed refugees in both nations.

VIRGINIA STRUGGLES WITH NEW REFORM. Richmond, Virginian Empire. The economic recession has led to a multitude of abandoned factories in Virginia, left behind by departing Swedish and Russian businesses. The Virginian government has bought up these abandoned properties in order to sell them to enterprising capitalists. Unfortunately, very few of these businesses have been bought as capitalists and business owners have reduced their spending in order to trim sails during the recession. The buildings remain vacant under the government, with even a lack of taxes causing some problems. The Virginian government has also passed some radical new reforms, promising government sponsored pensions to people over 65. They have also allowed tax breaks for white families which produce more children, a fact which has sparked a boom of procreation throughout the country.

CHILE ELECTIONS. Santiago, Chile. This years elections in Chile were hotly debated particularly involving Chilean assistance and intervention in the fighting in Bolivia. Resentment towards the growing economy has fallen squarely upon the Moderate Party and their affiliations with the German Empire. The failed policies of attempted nationalization and the near bankruptcy of the Chilean treasury has easily given support to the reigning partys opposition. The Liberal Party has won the elections, pledging to restore dignity and pride to Chile by recognizing the socialist government of the Socialist Union of South America as well as reopening attempts to increase trade with La Plata and other socialist states. BOLIVIA IN FLAMES. Sucre, Bolivia. As the economic situation deteriorates the nation of Bolivia has risen in open rebellion against the German Imperial Protectorate and the reigning dictatorship. German forces in the region were quickly mobilized to deal with the threat, while much of the standing Bolivian military defected to the rebels. A series of brutal pitched battles were launched against the Germans and government forces throughout the country and some smaller German corps were overwhelmed. By the end of the year forces from both Germany and Chile, along with the few troops remaining loyal to the Bolivian regime managed to restore order.

COMMUNIST REVOLT IN BUENOS AIRES. Buenos Aires, Buenos Aires Protectorate. A large amount of communists have risen in full scale rebellion against the government of the Buenos Aires Protectorate this year. They failed to secure control of the government buildings in the capital and the military has remained loyal to the standing government. Several military successes have already been had against the communists and even Socialist Party leaders have called for the communists to end their backwoods rebellion. Scattered pockets of resistance remain in some slums and backwater towns, but the country has mostly been stabilized by the reigning government.

RIOTS IN CUBA. Havana, Cuba. Heavy riots devastated downtown Havana this year following disputes over rising food prices and reduced wages. The failing economy has yet to assemble any organized resistance to the government, and it seems that when the elections arrive, it may well be that the regime quickly changes. For now the Cuban government has declared a curfew in Havana in order to help maintain law in the city.
REPUBLICAN DISSENT IN HAITI. Port-au-Prince, Empire of Haiti. The Haitian government has been persistently besieged by republican activists, calling for a new regime and an end to the monarchy. The Haitian people have had several large rallies, some which have escalated into riots throughout the Haitian islands. The monarchy has mobilized the military in opposition to the protestors, preventing incredible unrest.
RIOTS IN RIO. Rio de Janeiro, Socialist Union of South America. The ideal of a communist paradise seems to have been put to the test this year, as a major riot broke out in Rio de Janeiro. No one is entirely sure how the conflict started, but the end result was the declaration of martial law and a curfew by the city government. Property damage has been acknowledged to be extremely high, while civilian deaths are reported to be in the hundreds with several thousands of people injured.
UPCA COLLAPSES. Guatemala City, Guatemala. After fifty years of hobbling along as a poor independent nation, the government of the United Provinces of Central America has finally dissolved. Separate states have divided from the larger nation, after receiving great autonomy over the past few years. The election of a Socialist Party government has threatened most of the states with feared integration. The nations of Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, and Belize have all been declared following the collapse of the unified government. Thankfully violence of a civil war has been at least temporarily avoided, as the government in Guatemala bowed to the various new nations decision. The Socialist Party has remained in charge of Guatemala, the previously unified nations former capital. The Conservative Party have retained their previous stronghold in Belize, a heart of militarism and conservatism in the nation. El Salvador is currently controlled by a coalition government, though they plan to hold first elections next year. Honduras has become under the control of the Liberal Party, maintaining its independence.
ECONOMIC CRISIS IN CHILE. Santiago, Chile. The government of Chile dealt a major blow to its own economy this year, pushing the nation to the verge of bankruptcy. The embargo on East Atlantic Customs Union goods has severely raised overall prices in Chile, and many basics are quickly becoming unaffordable to the average Chilean. The government attempted to buy up many businesses that were going bankrupt as well, bringing the weight of their debt and failure upon the governments pocketbook. The Chilean government has been quickly running into extraordinary debt, threatening to cause a massive financial crisis and a meltdown of the national currency.
PEACE IN ECUADOR. Bogotá, Colombia. The fighting in Ecuador has come to an explosive end. In a bid to secure dominance once and for all before further outside intervention, the Peruvian and Colombian militaries launched a full scale offensive. With little chance for defensive preparations and tactical surprise, the Ecuadorian military folded in the face of their opposition. They were obviously unable to maintain their positions on what became essentially a three front war. Ecuador has been divided and annexed by Colombia and Peru, declaring their lands to be nationally part of the other two nations. The leaders of the Socialist Party of Ecuador have been rounded up and executed by the Colombian government, decapitating the leadership for any possible resistance.

NAVAL BATTLE OFF OF COLOMBIA. Santa Marta, Colombia. A major naval engagement took place off the coast of the nation of Colombia between the fleets of the Socialist Union of South America and the Republic of New England. With the destruction of Ecuador by Colombia and Peru, SUSA dispatched a major naval and ground force in an attempt to bring relief to the Ecuadorian military. They were blocked by a New Englander taskforce off the northern tip of Colombia. In the confrontation the fleets were drawn closer together while the SUSA transports moved off to the east. Despite being horribly outgunned by the New England task force, the commanding admiral opened fire on the nearest dreadnought, the ship was sunk in the heavy fire before they could even issue a volley. A great round of combat was initiated at close range, and the superior skills of the New Englander navy were well demonstrated as well as the firepower of the Victory-class battleships present. After losing the fleets flagship and a large number of support ships, the SUSA force withdrew to the east. With both battleships heavily damaged, the commanding New Englander admiral declined to pursue the retreating force.

CUBA MAKES GOODWILL GESTURE TO FRANCE. Marseilles, France. The Cuban government has recognized the Lisist regime as the official government of France. To this end they have agreed to make amends for the fighting and seizure of French property during the Great War. A battlecruiser and several escort ships have been returned to the French Empire, making good the losses to Cuba during the conflict. The Cuban government says that it hopes for new ties with France and for a new era of peace in their struggle for control in Europe.

BATTLE ON ITALIAN-HUNGARIAN BORDER. Venice, Republic of Italy. A massive artillery barrage began a vicious battle along the Italian and Hungarian border. The fighting quickly escalated as local commanders called in reinforcements to deal with fighting in the Croatian area. Casualties quickly mounted between each side as forces entered into a major battle. Ultimately the fighting wound down as diplomats appealed for calm. The battle is believed to have been caused by the rape of a Hungarian woman by Italian border guards. Unfortunately for the Italian army, the woman who was thus violated was the wife of the commander of local Hungarian artillery. The commander, in a fit of anger, opened up an artillery barrage upon the border station, which was responded in turn by the Italians. The battle soon spiraled out of control.

COLLAPSE OF THE CELTIC UNION. Dublin, Dublin Safe Zone. The economic recession has sparked a spiral of anarchy in the European nation of the Celtic Union. The pressures of the political process and the failing economy has led to widespread riots and confusion. In Dublin, a meeting of Congress was stormed by an unruly mob. The following hours, all government virtually disappeared in the country, descending the state into anarchy. Several strong powers have emerged in the following months, which have managed to establish some resemblance of order to the islands. In Scotland, the military forces along the English border have managed to retain discipline and remain under the command of their reigning officer. They have establishing the Edinburgh Border Security Sector (EBSS), pledging to not only keep the islands free of English intervention but to restore proper control to the rest of the divided Celtic Union. Further north in Scotland, the only order remaining are a hodgepodge of militias assembled by familial groups. The Alliance of the Clans has rallied at Glasgow, and has forestalled several attempts by the militarist EBSS from moving into the highlands. In Ireland, the Celtic navy has rallied military forces in Dublin, retaking government buildings from unruly mobs. They have declared a Safe Zone in the city for refugees attempting to find some order and stability. Several other islands have fallen under the navys control, and they continue to maintain control of the nations remaining international trade. In the north, diehard Protestants in Belfast have announced the new Nation of Ulster. They have fought several skirmishes with Cork to the south, which has fallen under the control of ultra-rightist Catholics.
RIOTS START FIRES IN AMSTERDAM. Amsterdam, Empire of the Netherlands. A significant amount of riots began this year over the heavy losses of the Suez War and the existing government in the Netherlands. The Dutch people have risen in near revolt, demanding the abdication of the king and the end of the alliance with Germany. The minor military presence in the country has led to very little capability of the Dutch government to hold the nation together. With social services collapsing, only a small force has maintained the security of the Royal Palace in the wake of the mobs rampaging across the country. (-3 Stability)
FRENCH CIVIL WAR. Paris, France. The French Civil War has continued to escalate this year as the socialists and lisists continue to face off in northern France. Using developed anti-tank tactics and their own armored forces, the socialists have won a major victory against the lisists. Heavy fighting took place southeast of Paris, where the socialists managed to rout the advancing lisist force. Lisist artillery superiority eventually managed to bring a halt to the driving socialist force, stalemating the lines. Belgian forces have continued to arrive to assist the socialists, bringing to bear tanks and artillery, helping to maintain socialist controls.

ITALIANS MAKE SCIENTIFIC BREAKTHROUGH. Rome, Republic of Italy. The government of Italy has announced that scientists working for various companies in Italy have made significant breakthroughs in the fields of electronics. They believe that they have more efficient ways of using electricity both for lighting and the running of machines in factories across the nation. Several Russian companies have hired these scientists and theres belief that revolutionary new machines and the refinement of old machines could take place thanks to these brilliant men.
BALKAN WAR COMES TO A CLOSE. Kiev, Russian Imperial Federation. The remnants of the various monarchist forces in the abortive Balkan League have surrendered to the armies of the Russian Imperial Federation. The new governments have been established in Romania, Bulgaria, and Serbia. In Bulgaria and Serbia, the monarchs have called together elections for new democratic Dumas. The Bulgarian Duma has been mustered under the control of the Conservative Party, who have promised to retain the nations security. They played off the success of the government during the war, capitalizing on the last minute capture of Constantinople. They have promised to maintain Bulgarian autonomy and relative independence from the Russian government. The Serbian government has assembled a collection of moderates from both liberals and conservatives. They have announced a wait and see policy in regards to the Russian government and the recession. The nation of Moldavia has been dramatically reformed. Under the threat of destruction, the military arrested the king and have forced him into exile in Greece. The new republic of Romania was established, and an coalition government was established. The nations first elections are to be held in 1917.
