My first try at leaderhead creation.
Texture and body are from Leonidas (white Shaka) and armor/helmet are made by me.
Sadly he doesn't wear hands/gloves armor because it doesn't allow you to write/make gestures during the diplomacy.

Another star on the sky of the leaderhead makers was born!

Just a small question: is your LH actually shadered?

Body uses Shaka's shaders and I didn't touch anything there because I didn't try to play with shaders yet. Armor is not shadered but looks ok.
I don't even know the difference yet, I need a lot of things to learn. I've just opened a few tutorials and used my minor skills of Wings3d and 3dsMax 7 to create this.

I've reuploaded the version with "more bulky" armor, I thought I've made the breastplate too light.

I would provide you a link to a shader tutorial written by dutchking, but I have technical problems here, again. Can't paste anything in here, nor via keybord nor by context menu. Cursor keys aren't working either. But it is just on civfanatics... What the hell is going on here? So, sorry, but I can't provide you the link now.

Now it is working again...

So, shaders can improve the quality of LHs. The emphasize is on can. It really did for esnaz' Corvinus (published with avains Hungary module of Varietas Delectat and the next version of the Magyar Mod) and Zervers Árpád (also in the next version of the Magyar Mod), but did not for Ekmeks Kossuth LH (I managed to shader it without that gloss on the skin). I can't tell you when it helps and when not, you'd need to try it out, but usually it adds gloss (for example to metallic objects) or fine structures (on the skin for instance). However, as Blender AFAIK doesn't support civ4 shaders, dutchking released a tutorial for nifskope. For the case you are curious: http://www.civjunction.freeforums.org/how-to-add-shaders-to-a-blender-exported-lh-without-max-t74.html. Haven't tried it out, but dutchking is actually a pro. He wouldn't post anything if it wouldn't work. Ah, as shader maps use the shader maps of the LH the meshs are from. Usually you know hich ones you need by taking a look at the texture and comparisms with the original LH.

Actually there's a bad clipping with "pipes" on helmet when he bends his head sideways, but it's unevitable unless the animations are frozen.
And it will find it's application, I am currently working on a modmod for Fury Road mod and I want to create "fallout-ish" factions. Currently I am working on ghoul and 1st citizen (from fallout 2) leaderheads.

Hey Deon

the stuff I've seen you do is looking really good I'm working on a fallout mod too, but I have zero graphics skills, would love the oppurtunity to try and collaborate with you on a fallout project. check out my ideasLSmod mod and let me know if it would interest you.

OH!!! I've just seen you are working on a ghoul leader head fantastic! i want to try and get a Supermutant one as well
