RevolutionDCM for BTS

I've got now some bug reports in my mod about "waiting for civs" bug (RoM uses RevDCM 2.5 at the moment) and one thing common in few reports have been that the problem seem to relate AI players' naval fleets near their city ie. they move their ships out of the city and back and load troops to ships on/off until it causes some kind of infinite loop. I haven't myself experienced this same bug yet and haven't been able to reproduce it.

Dude Zap, jdog has been good about critical bugs. Get a save with this bug occuring and upload it for him. Run a debug dll first on the save and make sure it's not anything in your code though.

There are saves here and here, both of them use clean, default RoM installation.

@Faichele
Thank you for sharing your knowledge and skills! I will help anyway I can when I return to the civfanatics fold. I am aberrant for another two weeks but this will not last long.

@Phungus
I am on the road, but in another day or two I will be in range of a mobile antenna and will zap you up Jdog's single change to Revolutions. It is one line in one file. Stay tuned brother.

@General and Zapp
Stay tuned brothers have not the time to answer your good questions yet.

Cheers.

Another small thing: looks like the MLF Control files aren't made to support modular format ie. same folder can't have differently named MLF control files. Only file name that seems to work is MLF_CIV4ModularLoadingControls.xml. So for example if I have MLF control files in Custom Leaders folder named Leaderpack1_MLF_CIV4ModularLoadingControls.xml and Leaderpack2_MLF_CIV4ModularLoadingControls.xml, neither will work. This makes it harder to make modules that put stuff into same folders, only the last one unzipped there will work correctly as the MLF_CIV4ModularLoadingControls.xml will get overwritten in the process and only the folders defined for loading in this file are recognized.

Speaking of which, you should not even need them unless load order were important due to one definition referring to another one.

That is the way it is in WoC Lite. In RevDCM unless I have the mlf, the subdirs do not get loaded. In WoC Lite they get loaded even without it, but in alphabetical order.

This would overcome most of Zapparas issue with it and actually is imo a bugfix for the integration of WoC Lite with RevDCM.

@Mamba
Thankyou for your fault report with WoC.

@Phungus
Here is an upload attach of the only official change to RevDCM since 2.51:
"Small civics modifier fix"
Just winmerge to find the single line change.

Cheers.

@Anyone
Is it a good idea for me to integrate the BUFFY mod into RevDCM when I get back to civfanatics work in another couple of weeks? It seems harmless and includes the global warming mod.
Cheers.

I would welcome the inclusion.

Please. Do.

Been trying to get the global warming mod included for a while now, so sounds good. Also figured BULL was going to be included sometime anyway. The only problem I'd have is that since BUFFY is related to HOF there may be some things missing or overridden that are normally included by the unofficial patch, at least there were in previous versions. So if ever there is a conflict with the unofficial patch/Better AI and BUFFY, please use the UP/BBAI option instead.

Is it possible to make it optional (or at least possible to turn off)?

@nutnut

If you want to play with Revolutions, which also includes BetterAI and BUG, what exactly do you want the option of turning off? Global Warming? If so, you should check out the GW modcomp, it is a significant improvement over default BtS rules, it's why BUFFY includes it, which for the most part goes for unaltered gameplay.

Global Warming is what I mean. I don't think it particularly suites the theme of my mod, but I'll take a look at the thread for it.

I second this. Maybe you should wait for BULL which as far as I know is BUFFY minus HOF to avoid this.

I'd support that. Mainly because I always disable GW by default when I play due to the idiocy that is the GW system in Civ4.

System I miss: Global Warming from CTP2. It tracked pollution, and you even had diplomatic options to get people to reduce their environmental impact.

I am not sure if it is a good idea to add the HOF mod. It would be nice to add BULL and the Global Warming mod.:)

Also I have a bug with the leader names on the score board such as, Sitting bull II, Tokugawa II and Joao III(see screen shot). The options I enabled are also attached. I have also had this problem when playing Rise of Mankind.

Hadn't seen BULL, much less BUFFY yet, so no comment on that.

However, I repeat my request to make archer bombardment button vanish but leave the actual function alone so it can be used with attack support.

What's the issue? When a civilization calls for a leader change (due to high rev index), if that civilization only has 1 leader, the "new" leader gets his name Roman-numeralized. If there were 2 leaders for the civilization, the revolution would put the other leader into power.

So bottom line is glider, yes BUFFY is good. But drop the HOF parts.

I've installed last version of the mod and just found that Domestic Advisor and Revolutionary Advisor didn't work. I've press the button or hit hotkey and nothing happens. Any suggestions?

Can a civ change leaders in the middle of a game?:confused:
