Stuck In The Middle With You - A Beyond the Sword v3.19 PBEM game, set on the breath-taking coasts of the Mediterranean Sea. :king:

This is the rehost of the PBEM game Stuck In The Middle With You
Entry is open to all players. However, as the host, I may give preference to players who are reliable PBEM players or well-established members of the CFC community.

Settings:

Tectonics - Mediterranean
Aridity: Normal
Tiny Map
4 Human players
Starting Era: Classical (turn 50, 2000BC)
Normal speed
Emperor Difficulty

No Random Events
No Huts
No Vassals
No City Razing
No Tech Trading

Victory Conditions:
Space Race and Time are disabled.

Civilizations (allocated - not chosen)
Greece (Alexander)
Egypt (Ramesses)
Carthage
Spain

Game will be Normal Speed. This means the game could go for hundreds of turns, for probably more than a whole year of real-time. Please make sure you are prepared to play the game for this long before signing up.

Please post your preferred play times and what timezone you are in (not just one or the other). This will help me to allocate a sensible turn order.

Difficulty level is Emperor. This is to reduce the city spamming that can happen on lower difficulties like Noble. To play at Emperor, you should be comfortable with at least Monarch in single player.

Four civs will play: Greece (Alexander), Spain, Egypt (Ramesses) and Carthage. The civs will be allocated randomly using a method that is unbiased, before the game starts.

Pure coincidence that it's the same order everyone joined. Essentially the gamesave moves west with the sun.

As for deciding the civs, I think what I might do is something similar to another game I'm hosting- let you all submit your preferences for which leaders you'd want, and then allocate them accordingly, picking names out of a hat when two or more people have the same preference for the same leader. If you agree to this system of dividing up the leaders then reply with the leaders numbered 1 to 4 in order of preference.

Well my preferences are:
Egypt1,Carthage2,Spain3,Alex4.

Both Deztro and slaze had Carthage as first preference. However, since slaze said he'd be happy with any, I made the decision to give Carthage to Deztro and give slaze his second pref - Spain.

Ronnie1 gets Alex and I get Egypt.

After all, I did try to pick the leaders so they would all be balanced, especially considering their periods of use for their UUs, UBs and how the starting era affected things. Note starting techs are irrelevant on non-Ancient starts like this.

By the way, I turned on Agg AI in case of the unlikely event that we have to replace a player with an AI. Note however that this does not mean it's ok to quit if you're losing.

Oh now I see why you confused me. Do you realise the way you gave me the numbers was very confusing? Rather than numbering your preferences with 1 to 4, you assumed I'd understand your order was given by the left to right order of your numbers. :lol:

It's ok - I can restart the game and give you Spain. That way slaze will get Carthage and the other two will stay as is.

Everyone please post a message in this thread whenever you pass on the save. Also, for roleplaying reasons I'd prefer if everyone left their civ and leader name as is, or at least something historically accurate for your civ.
